Three years ago on July 27th StarCraft 2 was unleashed upon the world, a day I remember very vividly because it was the first midnight release I ever attended (even now the only other one I've been to was HotS - which I was at as a professional) and also because I wrote the newspost on TeamLiquid to commemorate it.
It's hard to believe it's already been three years, from humble beginnings in the corner of an MLG in Raleigh to packing auditoriums and stadiums world wide. Remember the good times, with HuK winning a PvP finals in a day when people thought 4-gating was the only viable Protoss build, and MorroW winning an IEM over IdrA with a 5-rax reaper build that was patched nearly immediately after. Or the time Fruitdealerwon a GSL in an age when no one thought Zergs could win, defeating every opponent as an imagined underdog before the match.

Wont lie I wasn't hooked from Day1 or even Day1 but it certainly grew on me.

HDH Invitational was the tournament that got me hooked. Being able to meet White-Ra and congratulate him in person at gamescom just a few months later also didn't hurt my newly discovered passion. Even though I don't watch Starcraft 2 fanatically, almost never missing a match, like I did back then I certainly cant imagine giving it up anytime soon.
Happy Birthday SC2! Thanks for making the last three years an unforgettable experience!

Holy shit, that Tychus banner really scared me... Glad that it's only because of this and won't be permanent. Congrats, SC2, and please get more inviting to casuals, I'm struggling lately to get some friends interested in you. They say you are dumb.
p.s. HDH Invitational, still the best tournament ever, lol.
p.p.s. Speaking of Tychus, he didn't appear/return in HotS and busy with the other heated discussions we didn't speculate much if he'd be back in LotV. Some people really liked him as a character and Blizzard never said a hard "no" to him returning.
