Well, that's obvious when talking about countries that aren't within neither.... EEA countries do get alot of the tradebenefits of the EU, we do have to follow EU directives... ALOT of EU stuff applies to us ,which was the reason for my inquiery.

Great news!
Finally i'll be getting my hands on that hoodie

Currently have 2 Googims caps stuck in Danish customs. The items I ordered were 100$ including freight. They want me to pay 100 * 1,12 (customs) * 1,25 (VAT) + 28$ (Customs handling fee). I for one welcome our EU store so I don't have to deal with this shit.

First off, congratulations that you finally got this done! I am looking forward to ordering some stuff in the future.
It's done and all good, but reading some of this makes me wonder a bit, whether you actually looked much further than the UK for options to host the store. Again, it's totally fine if you wanted the store in your single largest market. But you could have probably catered the overall European market at a lower price when hosting the shop in central continental Europe.

I'm sure everything would have been much cheaper if the warehouse would have been in Central/Eastern Europe. Edit: I just saw the question was already asked but since no answer was given ... At this point I think everyone would've liked to have it in their country as that would imply best rates for that country. Aside from the language factor which is certainly present, our UK distributor has a reputation we can trust, on top of that shipping with Royal Mail has its benefits as they are charging the same rate across all European countries, so when we manage to expand the store to cover all countries outside of the European Union, the shipping we provide for these countries shouldn't be more expensive. Finally, the UK was our top european market historically with Germany as a close second and Sweden coming on 3rd place, so giving best rates to our biggest market makes sense as well.
bonse actually has a valid point and it is not about wanting the shop in your own country. It's just the fact that the VATs in the UK are amongst the highest you can find in the EU. Also, shipping with Royal Mail has probably the worst reputation regarding speed and reliability amongst western European main national Mail providers. And since the Pound is still somewhat strong towards the EUR, the shipping and handling becomes more expensive. You posted DHL express prices in comparison, which is not really comparable to regular RM Shipping, since DHL express is a over-night (or in 3 days across Europe) service much like UBS or FedEx.
Anyways, I am looking forward to my poster and will buy a Hoodie soon!
Last thing: I posted this question months back in a thread but i think there was no answer back then: When you offered the 5% discount for an amount of time for TSL4 subscribers, you announced that the EU store would open soon at the same time. So I held back on ordering my Hoodie and well... it took a while Any chances of getting those 5% on a first order or something? I might not have been the only one who missed out on their discount while waiting for the EU store.

/devil'sadvocate
i doubt that will happen, EU is not as big an issue to the other parts of UK as it is to SE England and besides Cameron knows that Britain would lose a lot of its political power if it left the EU so although he isn't its biggest fan he won't do anything to endanger his powerbase
OT: EU store is awesome
