You cannot bring your own computer, as the LAN Center doesn't allow it. However, the meters are 2 hour parking at max, so be careful about getting a ticket (I've gotten several from doing BATLLs haha). After 6PM, all streetside parking is free. @T.O.P. we are hoping that the earlier start time will make the event end earlier. Also, since the club is now running the event hopefully we will be able to make the bracket making and everything very smooth and efficient to get it started as soon as possible 
@OnFiRe888 Unfortunately 2 PM might be a little bit late this time. We decided to start earlier this time so we could end the tournament earlier and also so that we won't have problems with people finding computers. We are looking to do more events more frequently however, so you can always participate in the next one if this one doesn't work out!

OMG I might actually be able to go for once, after spending 4 years in Berkeley >.<. Just as a spectator though.
Also, I have a 2011 TL jersey in Medium, which is a size too small for me. I was going to try to sell it but I was thinking that maybe if you guys want I can donate it as some sort of prize for this LAN? Like a raffle or something, it could be a cool prize since they don't make them anymore. I only wore the shirt once for a few seconds and saw it was too small, but I had been keeping it to get it autographed by TL members if I went to the IPL TAC3 finals but I ended up not going because of jet lag >< so now I have no real use for it (the TL posters are probably much easier to get autographed). Let me know if you want it Conan, for this event or for anything else, I'd like to give it to the Berkeley community.

I believe the parking meters are $1.50 an hour? So if you come at 11 AM you'd be looking at 7 x 1.50 = $10.50 for parking, since after 6 PM it's free. Parking garages I believe are about $15 for parking. Depending on where you're coming from, BART could be the cheapest.

Parking meters are more annoying because you have to move your car every 2 hours (or even every 1 hour depending on the region). Plus the Shatuck area is fairly annoying to find street parking in. If you're going to be there all day I suggest going for a parking garage, at the least for the ease of mind, and the garage may be cheaper for that length of time but I'm not sure. Berkeley meter maids are really good at their job (I could say some not so pleasant things, but I won't lol, as someone who's gotten quite a few parking tickets in Berkeley).
Edit: If BART is convenient at all where you're coming from I would take that, since Eudemonia is really close to the Downtown Berkeley BART station.

Although there were random lag spikes in game, I also think it was probably because of patch 1.5
I noticed that even at home ( I play the game on low when I can run it on high) I still might randomly have lag spikes RIGHT before the engagement which causes bad moves to be made.
This was a great event though, I hope there are more. I didn't really talk to anyone, but the vibe was nice and positive =)
Edit: Is it racist if I request more fellow black gamers to show up to future events? I stuck out like a sore thumb pretty hard :o

One of our friends Byron BLkAt or something like that is black, he comes to a lot of MLGs :D Haha glad to hear that you had fun, hope we can solve the issues for the next LAN!!! ♥

Wasn't lag spikes. Was constant lag. Looked like 1 fps in my game vs fan. The computers were Athlon x2 and nvidia 9 series after all.

I had a blast at the event. :-) Ive never played in a tourney locally before nor hang out at a cybercafe, so that was a fun first time experience. Lag was pretty annoying but I'm hoping the network will be smoother for the next event. Im pretty sure it was network lag, because speedtest reported less than 2Mbit/s whenever my game was skipping frames and I haven't experienced any problems with patch 1.5 at home. Gamer grub is delicious. I'll order some for my dorm when I return to campus. Also meeting Conan was raaaadd. :-)

Couple things we are looking to improve on for the next BATLL, and would like your feedback / additional suggestions if you have any.
Lag - obviously this was a huge issue and really affected a lot of the games. After dinner the lag seemed to be completely gone. I think some of the frame rate drops are possibly attributed to patch 1.5 and some of the computers being older, but most of the lag experienced seemed to be network lag (speedtest showed really slow speeds). Although this is a difficult problem to fix, I'll see if I can ask around and see if we can pinpoint the problem (maybe a firewall or something).
Stream - Huge props to AlphaFerg for casting all the way up to the Ro4. This ties in to the lag issue but hopefully we can be able to maintain a good stream without dropped frames next time so that viewers will stay next time. Hopefully the stream was not the source of some of the lag.
Dinner - Obviously dinner at the May Flower Restaurant or whatever was pretty bad because their service was completely unequipped to deal with a group our size. I am looking for what people would prefer for the future.
One time we ordered party dishes, and brought them back to Eudo to eat - the problems with this was that there was too little food, it was hard to keep track of who paid and who didn't, and there is no nice "restaurant atmosphere"
Another time the group simply went to a pizza place, which was easy and quick, and although not the best food was acceptable
Finally, we could try to contact the restaurant beforehand, have a menu in Eudo so we can order beforehand and so they can prepare all the food by the time we get there.
Computers - Holding BATLL earlier did solve the issue of getting computers, as I think everyone was able to get a computer. However we did have less competitors than before, not sure if its because it is summertime or if it is because people weren't able to wake up in time. I think holding it earlier and ending earlier is nice, however we did only have 32 competitors this time compared to something like 37-40 before.

Hello all. I am the owner of Eudemonia and I want to address some of the concerns about the lag. First of all, I want to apologize for the lag. As a gamer, low latency is always a priority for me and we pay for a big pipe to ensure that our network connection is always top notch. Also, these computers were the same computers from the last BATLL and I believe we did not experience any significant lag. We are in the process of upgrading our computers and a couple of you did play on our new rigs (built on Thursday). We will be upgrading our computers this fall.
Unfortunately, I did nothing to fix the lag and it mysteriously went away during dinner. This is always bothersome to me because we were unable to pinpoint the problem. However, I suspect it may be related to a couple of laptops I let onto our network. The lag started shortly after the laptops connected to the network and disappeared when everyone headed off to dinner. This is merely speculation but from here on out, we will be extremely careful who we let onto our network during a BATLL.
Again, I am sorry for the poor experience everyone had. To that end, for the next BATLL, I will be offering everyone a huge discount for those who attended BATLL X. Despite the lag, I hope everyone had fun.

Like what nouveaux said (I assume that's Dean?), there was no lag at the last BATLL which made the lag issue really strange. However, I still had a great time and even though there was a bit of lag I think it's not really something that would affect the outcome of my games considering I'm not amazing at SC - which is why it didn't bother me at all. The lag didn't even have an effect on the finals. Instead, it was determined by Fan's laggy head forgetting his DT shrine doing a DT rush :D
