Posting from 2.3.4 galaxy S Did have one force close before.

I see that it is "open source", but I can't seem to find source anywhere; am I missing something?
Also, why doesn't TL just make a CSS for an m.teamliquid.net, that would be much more simple and universal...
|
Just a minor issue, on the Galaxy Nexus 4.0.2 when force GPU rendering is selected in the developer options the app crashes. This is a common problem in a few different applications. Not sure what needs to go into fixing this but just thought i would report it.

Yeah I should have made the choice 2.3.x. Because those version are very close. You can choose 2.3.3.

Could you add the option to hide forums, as on the website?

Tried it on SGS2 with 2.3.5. Every time I start the application, there is this 'downloading data...' popup in the center with the animation and 1 second later org.opensourcetlapp.tl crashes. 100% up to now.

I fucked up a bit with the update. If it crashes you'll maybe have to uninstall it and reinstall...

If it crashes you'll maybe have to uninstall it and reinstall... You should mention that in the market as well.
I updated it yesterday and it still crashed with only showing a white screen. Thought about waiting for the next update. After your note, I just reinstalled it and now it works fine.
Looks pretty similar to the other, older Beta app from 2010 that stopped working for me months ago. I like it so far. Will test it later a little more. Thanks for your work.

Works now after deinstalling and reinstalling on my Android. Posting this using the app right now.

Works awesome on my note. Except I can't navigate to the diablo 3 subforum User icons and smilies are tiiiiiny for me though. Like 2x2 pixels in size. Looks really funny.
Also would like to be able to load images right in thread instead of link to open in new tab. Great for saving data though if needed. And would like to be able to make quoted text bigger.
Great work!

I am working right now to implement subforums like the ones in sports & game, fan clubs and streams. I know for the small icon it does the same on my galaxy nexus and I have no idea why right now. I'll look into it later
For the image I have no idea when I will implement this. I think on a galaxy note it would look great but not so much on a smaller phone... You should see image in news posts.

The app was working fine until today, when it started force closing when trying to read ANY thread. I am also unable to log in. I suspect something must have changed on the website side. Could you please look into it? Thanks.

There already is a beta version on TL.net site, if you go to the site on your mobile device it should go to the mobile version if not try clearing the cache, i think there is thread about this in website feed back forum.
Anyways working great on the Galaxy Nexus, everything seems to be working perfectly great work. One suggestion after the calendar is implemented offer a check box or something to select certain calendar events and then receive a notification in the notification bar however long before the event starts. Maybe make the time before the event like 10 minutes or something and if there is time later add a customizable amount of time for the notification.

With new subsribe function on tl, it crashes cant log in

Oh shit. I'll try to fix it tonight (CET time).
Thank for the heads up.

Yes, you should be able to view thread with the next version.

Beautiful, works great now.
|
I've posted the same thing on the android market. On update the application internal database screws up sometimes that's why it crashes.
"If the application force close after an update. Erase the application data. Or uninstall and then reinstall the app."

Teamliquid ESPORTS newsposts don't appear.

New version is coming.
- In the forum list the the color bar on top of every thread indicates it's type (sticky, hot, regular)
- In thread you can now click each poster header to send a PM to the user or quote the post.
- The home screen is prettier.
Next new stuff will be the search, new logged in home screen then calendar I think.

New bug after most recent update:
Trying to view a thread page that contains my own post causes FC. For example, 1st page of this thread, with no post by me, is perfectly viewable, but since pages 2-3 have a post by me, it will FC. I have confirmed this by posting to other threads. No post by me = no FC. I then post and try to view that thread page, instant FC.
Accessing "My posts" also causes FC, perhaps the issue is related?

The bug fix for thread were there is one of your post is coming, with the search function.
About the my posts bug. I can't reproduce it and i did not see any report about it. So I dont think it will be fixed with this update.

Everything works great here! The "my posts" bug was really just the "own post" bug, as clicking on a post from "my posts" would bring me to the thread, then FC happens.
BTW is refresh after reply planned?

Thanks for updating. Looks amazing now and I dont have to clear the cache each time i open it.Also, search is a great feature.
Keep up the good work.

Hey :D
So, I just realized there is a TLnet android app, so I'll post here my thoughts on it.
First of all, it's awesome. But there are a few problems with it:
- The loading dialog. It's annoying! Whenever I switch screens(ie. click on a link to a forum), it pops a dialog "Connecting to teamliquid... downloading content... preparing to show on phone" while the backscreen is darkened. I know this is all just aesthetic, But I think it would be better if it just showed a spinning circle or a progress bar, like it's done for the Facebook app. The dialog gives the feeling that something is wrong, when it's just stating the obvious.
- There is no subscribed threads link on the MyTLnet page! Come on, I love that feature! The MyTLnet page also lacks the 'Blog' link(which should be useful for those who use it) and there is no way to edit your Profile via the app, although it's possible via browser.
- Crashes a lot, my phone is a Motorola XT317 with Android 2.3.7(I don't know how to/if it's possible to update it). I'm not sure why, but it could be because of a slowass 128Kb internet(non-3G phone internet)? I send a report every crash.
- Clicking on a TL post link brings me to the browser. Say I'm on the TL Mafia subforum, and the Mafia games usually use a lot of post links in it. IMO when it detects a tl.net link, it should just redirect there via the app instead of opening the browser.
I love the app, and I'll continuing using it(esp. because it's lighter to use than the browser). Please keep up your work!
|
what we really need is a nightmode. my eyes hurts viewing tl all day
|
It doesn't let me log in uing my HTC Desire HD 2.3.5
I also found that in order to browse threads (not logged in of course), I had to disable smart parsing.

Thanks for your comments. I totally agree with the dialog it's annoying. I planned that, but I'm still thinking on how I want to do it.
The subscribed thread is still young we didn't have time to look at it. Same as the dialog still thinking how it will be integrated.
About the crashes, I have 5 reports since the new thread layout is out (since around feb 26th). One of them is me, but I haven't looked into it yet. It's hard to work with just the report when it's crashing in one particular thread because I can't know which thread it is and thus can't reproduce it. So if you have example of thread crashing the app give them here and I'll be able to correct these particular bugs.

Hi, yes this was a problem with a previous version of the app but it should have been fixed in the latest build, have you tried clearing the data, uninstalling the app and then reinstalling it?

Yeah it appears I downloaded the old app. I installed it and downloaded the correct version and here I am!

Bug: on the home forum and the my tl.net screens, rotating the orientation will trigger a login. Rotating back and forth between landscape and portrait will repeatedly trigger login events.
Rotating orientation on the app search screen will trigger a fc.

- New read/unread pm feature

Hey ashLoo,
I have no problem loging in with the current version of the app. Are you sure you got the good version of the app ( the one called Teamliquid app Opensource and not TeamLiquid App (Beta))?
If you have the right version then the only two things I can see is : - you're typing the wrong password - for some reason your password is not handle correctly by the app because of maybe some fucking weird character. You could try changing your password and trying again.
Thanks for trying the app and giving feedback.
|
For some reason I can not download the app from the market (using a custom ICS ROM with changed LCD density, maybe that was the reason). Is there a way I can DL the .apk file from an external website? Otherwise the app has been great, thank you for this. Edit: Well nm, the App popped in my list, prolly from backup, cause its still not showing in the market. If you get back to developing it, another good update if, if possible, is to open TL links when browsing in the app itself and not the browser.

hi thanks for the app, its working very well. I just have a small problem : the hots forum doesn't appear in the forums list. Is it a bug or... ?

Most of the time i'm on TL, i just go through the subscribed threads and don't bother going through all my past posts looking for replys and such. I couldn't find it in the android app and it's not in your TODO, so unless i missed it i would like to add a feature request: Could you add "Subscribed Threads" please?
The app seems to be great but without that function it's completely useless for me, i rather use the phone browser and navigate there manually :-/

Still the best app for android to browse tl. What I find annoying is that when I want to scroll down in a thread, and the post I grab to pull the screen further down starts with a quote, the screen immediately jumps to the beginning of that post.
|
Hey, I have been having some problems with the app recently. For a while some threads would not work and would give me a "Unfortunately, Team Liquid has stopped." message whenever I would try to open them, that was fine i would just go to a different thread. But, now it wont show the Forums section at all and if I go to My posts and click on a thread from there it crashes the app. I was wondering if you were going to have an update anytime soon that would fix it, because i really love the app, I have also reported the app when it crashed once or twice. I have 4.0.4(rooted) on my Galaxy S2.

Developers - I realize this is old, but regarding the poll to see what android version is most common: this data is available from Google at https://developer.android.com/about/dashboards/index.html
Having said that, it seems SC players tend to use newer versions of android than android users as a whole (based on stats from my app).
|
Same here, I've checked the bug report and it says "Array out of bounds exception". I'm guessing the forum structure of TL has changed and the app hasn't been updated to reflect the changes?
I used the app all the time, so I'm really missing it. I'm hoping the dev has the time to fix it.
|
I got bored and decided to hack together some fixes for the app. Major props to the OP for dealing with TL's highly unsemantic and irregular markup. I just did the bare minimum to fix the app, and this is a debug build so probably not as optimized as the market version, but it does work, more or less. Profile icons might be too small though. Anyway, here's a link to an APK; you'll need to uninstall the market version if you have it as this uses the same package name but it's not signed since I'm not the original developer. I might clean up my fixes later and submit a pull request back to the original author (or just maintain a separate fork with a different package name if OP is unavailable) but for now for those of you itching for that TL fix, here you go:
https://github.com/ibrahima/TL-android-app/blob/master/teamliquid_aligned.apk
Anyone curious can see my changes here: https://github.com/ibrahima/TL-android-app
Note to OP or any other developers: I decided to use the new Android Studio IDE and as such I switched the project to a Gradle build style, which involved moving a bunch of stuff around. I also switched to using HTMLCleaner from maven, I think. I actually have not done Java development in a while and have basically no experience with Android and only a little with Maven, so I was just figuring stuff out on the fly to get the build working, but hopefully someone will find it useful.
|
Thats awesome dude! I missed this app dearly. I will be checking out out the apk and hopefully those changes when i get home.
|
Maybe irrelevant since this app has died before and the fix was posted months ago, but I get a parse error on install on 4.4 and can't see a forum list on 4.3. I can log in and view my posts and PMs on 4.3, I just cannot load the forum list.
|
if there is enough feedback in this thread (10+ posts?) between now and next monday, i will probably go ahead and spend some time over the holidays to fix the current errors in this app (java dev here)
|
I hope you can fix it, but I doubt there will +10 post
|
I will add my post to support that app fixing!
|
Well I haven't tried the app buuuuuut if it got fixed and worked I'd definitely at least try it
