The drive to post they included to overcome the natural shyness shared by all social robots makes him go a little crazy. All the energy he usually puts into posting (almost) like a human on the forums goes into posting on IRC, and if other people don't respond quickly enough to him he just chats to himself. | ||

What do you think SS stands for? Software support. Periodically the Torte needs software updates and general maintenance. But if it was just taken offline, people would become suspicious at "his" absence. So periodically the account is "temp banned" to provide a convinient excuse for his absence, while the program it taken offline for maintenance and upgrades. (note that the Torte twitter feed is run by separate less complex software, and thus can continue operating while the main Torte system is offline) | ||
