lose the finals? Watching the VOD yesterday i couldnt help but feel sorry for Naniwa - he made a couple poor judgements. Going Nexus first every single game really made him predictable - and Leenock obviously played it against him.

What do you think?

I think this doesn't need a new thread and could easily be discussed in the MLG day 3 thread along with the thousands of other posts on the finals.

I feel a little like Naniwa lost it :\ I mean, he held off the first hatch cancel and then won with stargate play, but lost his edge by failing to scout it again.

Leenock didn't even play that well in most of the games. He just all inned, and it worked. I'm not degrading his play at all, I mean he beat Naniwa didn't he? But most of those losses could have been prevented just by better scouting,

Get this garbage thread out of here.

Naniwa lost the finals. He refused to adjust the playstyle he'd shown throughout the tournament, and Leenock punished him for it hard. It was great strategy from Leenock, but if Naniwa had shown us any of the kind of mastery of different build orders that we saw out of him in the TSL3 he could have taken the series convincingly. If that's what Korea's done for him... it's still a good trade, but he's too predictable and it's hurting his play.

This has been discussed to death in the LR day 3 thread. I recommend browsing the last 15 or so pages for more in depth analysis.

Not end of thread at all. Read the content before writing that. I'd say that Naniwa definitely made a few poor judgments. He never varied his build and his scouting was always shut down if he tried it. The fact that he let Leenock push him around early game without changing things up was a huge issue. Then again I may be wrong and maybe sticking to his guns is a better idea, but I have my doubts since Leenock was able to scout that early Nexus every game.

leenock out played nani with smart counter play. Leenock won this. To think otherwise is folly, he beat all 5 previous MLG champions in his way to the top, He beat the top 4 seeds to get to the top. He played through the Open bracket, AND loser bracket, and came back from having to win 2 best of 3s to take the series.

I hate threads like this, they demean the victory to Leenock, a 16 year old wonder kid, who dazzled us with his smart play and clutch decisions. Leenock won it, and that's all anyone should be saying. Naniwa put up a good fight as well, but claiming nani lost it and not leenock winning it, is bullshit to both players.
I now have autographs of both BoxeR and NaDa. I can die happy. Lim Yo Hwan and Lee Yun Yeol FIGHTING forever!

Leenock completely outplayed naniwa and looked like in another league from him.

Did Idra win against Leenock or did Leenock win? Watching the VOD yesterday i couldnt help but feel sorry for Idra - he made a couple poor judgements like not being born in Korea. Not having Korean genes made him bad - and Leenock obviously played it against him.

What do you think?
