Dave and Busters Thursday 13 October 2011 from 8pm to 11pm
With MLG Orlando only a month away, competitors and spectators are getting their plans and trips set in stone and ready to go.
The event itself will be held at the Gaylords Palms Resort and Convention Center located in the heart of Orlando, Florida.
I would like to keep this thread updated with individuals who will be traveling to the event, where they are staying and hopefully get a TL Meet-up Thursday evening before the event begins on Friday possibly at a local restaurant.
By seeing who will be going, everyone can catch up with their online friends, team mates and idols that they have been dying to meet.
If you're attending the event please post where you'll be staying for the event.
I'll be at the Howard Johnson on International Drive checking in Thursday and checking out Sunday of course. So if anyone is down for a evening at Dave & Buster's let me know.

Yes the d&b's on international. I could make a call and see if we could reserve a few tables and have a good get together.
Hopefully we could attract some pros into going. I would like to try and get it started around 5-5:30pm.
I doubt anyone would want to be out really late since the event is the next day. I know I wouldn't want to be out past 11:30 est at the latest but that's just me.

Dave and Busters is 18+ if I remember correctly. If needed we could do something like chilis or applebees to mesh with the under age group of members.

So change of plans for myself.
I wont be staying at the Gaylord Palms. Missed out on a $300 stay for 3 nights so I did some searching and found a much cheaper price.
Staying at Howard Johnson down the street. Ended up reserving a room that can have 5 occupants max. So I might have some extra room that I could charge out for like $20 a night to anyone looking to stay close if I have any extra room available if some buddies from Canada wont be able to make it down.

Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center is the venue for MLG Orlando. It is right off International Drive so there is a lot of attractions, restaurants and amenities to be found.

There's a good chance I'll be flying in early the Saturday of MLG and would be looking for some people to stay with. I haven't booked the ticket quite yet because I wanted to make sure I could hopefully snag a ride and split a hotel with others. I'd be willing to help with gas of course.

Look into the Howard Johnson on International Drive. Only $40 a night from what I saw when I booked there and its only 3 miles down the street.

It does but you never know. Some people might not want to eat pizza/wings/beer and rather just be in a more casual setting or maybe they dont want to spend the additional money on coins/tokens to play the arcade games.

I'll be down. I live 15 minutes from the convention center. The fridays is a cool place to eat at for a big group. The new dave n busters is okay, but it's 18+ or 21+ after 10pm I think, but the drink specials are decent. If anyone wants to go to a lounge club after for some drinks I can get us in some places.

Isnt the closest 4 Rivers Smokehouse in Winterpark cause thats a little out of the way from the venue location and the hotels residing around the venue.

Ya it is in winterpark, but its just a hop on i4 away, prolly 15 min. Maybe 20-25 depending on how bad disney traffic is.
You are probably right it makes more sense to meet somewhere closer to the venue. I just fuckin LOVE 4 rivers.

Gaylord Palms is probably not in your best interest right now. You will be spending 600$+ for thursday - sunday only.
Take a look at Howard Johnson on International. I spent $130-140 for 3 nights double queen beds for a total of 5 people. Definitely a plus.

4 rivers is definitely at least 20-25 minutes from i-drive/convention center. Downtown is 20 and WP is past that.

It's ~200 a night /4 which isn't so bad for a nice resort/hotel and attachment to the venue. With 4 people I think it won't be bad at all.

I'll be coming down from Atlanta for this event and I'm pumped. MLG Raleigh was so exciting.
Edit: If anyone who hasn't booked a hotel room yet would like to discuss sharing a room at the Gaylord (damn that's funny), for like 3-4 people in a double room, I for one have no problem sleeping on the floor if it gets me that much closer to the action.
If not, should anyone want to let me sleep on their floor if they already have a room there, I'd be more than happy to pay my share of the nightly fee, I don't take up much space, I'm a neat person, and I don't snore

I can't believe I wait 10 years to see some pro Starcraft IRL, move to Korea to teach English (far from Seoul, my goal here isn't really to watch SC) and one month later this amazing event happens in my home town. I'll be there, along with a lot of buddies! We're all down for a night at D&B's :D Don't know where we'll be staying as of now, but we're making reservations this week.
Edit: If people are still looking for places to stay, I'd recommend the WorldQuest. They let 5 people per 3 bedroom suite (includes kitchen!) for something like $122 per night, which for me and my friends equaled out to $86 FOR THE WEEKEND, cutting eating costs with the kitchen and it's only 5 minutes from the venue. Good deal! I'd offer a spot on the floor but I'd doubt the hotel would let us :/

I drive by Gaylord everyday on my way to work. I cannot wait to go to MLG and whatever is decided for a TL meetup. Dave and Buster's is awesome. Drinks are half off after 10pm and as for the age deal, if you are under 18, you have to be with someone who is over the age limit.

Why not go to Miller's Alehouse or Brickyard Tavern? They're a few steps away from DnB and no 18 and under issues there. Food is better too.

The only weird thing I see with it is, underneath it for identification it states you must have a valid state license showing age 21 or higher.
I'll give them a call today and update the information if its 18 minimum or 21 minimum.

I think what it says is that anyone over either 18 or 21 can get in unaccompanied. Anyone below that age must be accompanied by someone over 25. I'm 18, and I think it's saying I can get in without an adult, but if you're 17, you need to be with someone over 25. I don't think there is an actual minimum age limit.

I was just going through the pages and noticed I left some users out of the definitely and potentially coming. I've been at work nonstop for the past 6 days so when I get off at 3pm est today I'm going to go through and ensure everyone is added to the front page.

We are going to do Dave and Busters from 8pm-11pm. If you're 18-20 you will be good to go we will have people that are 25 and older as well as 21+ so no worries. Just be ready for 3 hours of TL fun.

I 'd be open to 1-2 more people on the floor but if someone splits they'd get the other queen anyway. Was $580 for Friday-Monday, so the more splits, the cheaper maybe.

Howard Johnson would have cut that down by at least 350-400$. I made a post on here earlier maybe page 1 about it being $40 a night.

Hmm. I'm staying at a Travelodge on 192 (maybe 10 min drive) for about 35 a night. (I only need a bed, and a roof, and reasonably clean. They can do that.)
If you have a car, the area is pretty densely packed with low-price, not horribad hotels since they are Disney East-Gate close, and Kissimmee lives on the tourist trade.

Games start at 5pm, but when are we allowed in the convention center? I can't find it to save my life.
I'll be arriving at the airport around 12:30 and then hopefully the shuttle/whatever service from the airport will get me there at a reasonable time. Already packed up and ready to go for the most part.
As for identifying liquid people, i'm sure there will be more than a few liquid shirts (be it jerseys or pony ones or whatever) that will at least point you in the right direction.

At 1:30 the venue opens and you can then walk around, practice, meet people, etc...

Oh derp, that should have been obvious if I had read it twice-over earlier. Sorry.
Was hoping to get there early enough to sit in line with everyone and get some photos of the line, but I'll probably be arriving just as they start letting people in. Ah well.
