It starts with a italicised and almost certainly unread disclaimer: This article is not the official position of Team Liquid, The Readers, The Author, The Players or Your Mother. Though your mothers official positions are almost as excellent, this article is not them.
Your mother aside, the article has begun. Your eyes are distracted by the banner that will inevitably be placed below this first paragraph, so the article will ensure to open with something unimportant but cleverly related to the subject matter at hand. This paragraph was edited 5 times, but now it is finalised.
Related image to subject matter in the usual place, with a witty underwrite.
Now. The Question. If you had 5 Zerglings and then you built a hatch at a natural and the game was 5 minutes long, but you lost 3 Zerglings to a rush which was deflected by the 7 Zerglings that you brought in from the main when you saw the 6 Zerglings the rush contained that were defeated and yet caused you to make another 5 Zerglings to add to the 4 that your ally has built down the other end of the map which have been added to the 7 that followed after a 2nd attack where 8 were lost but you held with 2 extra from the natural added to 6 more that you ally has added as he took his 3rd which was under attack by 14 Zerglings made by the 4th player who is also Zergling and made 20 Zerglings 8 minutes in after you made the 2nd hatch but these were not the Zerglings that featured in the 1st or 2nd attack and came later after the 5 Zerglings you added to the 4 that your ally built 7 or so lines ago and came in to do serious damage to your mineral line that cost you 8 Zerglings and cost your ally 6 more Zerglings, will you now continue to need to make Zerglings or not especially when you know that the 3rd player is added 20 Zerglings and you already have another 15 on the way?

But wait, the question has another angle. Queue injection that brings new light to the old or commonly known question above. The article then refers to 9 days of painful research where the author was grubbing around for answers, barely in control and wondering if he should remove that tasteless disclaimer he started the article with. The decision is made that he simply needs to chill out and carry on with analysing the question. Settled, he visits total to get some biscuits and on reflection decides to leave the anecdote in to show that he is human after all and hope that some of the insight will help in the conclusion.
Also, Artosis.

Awesome article. I'll be sure to read it all later...
The conclusion is this, if you had 10 Zerglings instead of the 5 that you built at the hatch in the natural then you could have gotten 8 more and run by the ram with the 18 excluding the 3 that you lost because you were poor in controlling 7 of the 10 in the 1st attack in which you will later but not yet add 15 to the 30 or so your ally had irrespective of the 7 that your ally has built and the 3 that the 4th enemy has but not the 2 that the 3rd has though he added 8 when he was the 15 that the 3 were lost from when the 7 were badly controlled, we will find that we have enough Zerglings to conclude the article though perhaps not the game if the conclusion has been scouted.
Final note that the author has been doing z to y for z years and that your mother may or may not have been involved, but if she was it was good for esports and good for the future of the Starcraft 2 Community..

To answer OPs question, yes, I would continue making zerglings as if the opponent was taking a third and making 20 zerglings.
|
|
ummmmm ok then thats a good read i guess.

There is no doubt that the number of zerglings produced by the 3rd ally during part 3 of the second round of attacks should have been 4, but besides this i think it was a quality writeup. Artosis brought up some interesting points as well.

Being not quite sure what to make off the issue, i detect one specific mistake in this barely related reply, and continue to ramble on about that point. Because i am pretty sure that i am right about this, i explain it to great length. Basically, i am very bored, and just write and write on, for at least a half page of text. Then, i read what i wrote, realize that it is neither interesting or witty, and usually just makes me look dumb. I spend another half an hour trying to get the dumb out of the post until i realize that the whole premisse i am talking about is not worth anyones time. Then, i delete the complete post and do something else.
