I think Kennigit's thread on advertisement basically covers this. In your case, because you've made some great contributions to the community and aren't selling something, I'd allow it and I think the rest of us would. We would ask that you use that thread for a hub for all your articles like that, however. The key is really how we view you as a member of the community. You're definitely a part of it.

Why is the pen the preferred tool for writing instead of the pencil? The pencil is better than the pen in every way; it's cheap, it lasts longer, corrections can easily be done with an eraser, and the tip can be modified to produce different strokes. Even after years of leaving school, I still don't understand why i cant write my essays with a pencil instead of a pen.
