Examples: TL Official Winged Shirt; Horse Skull Shirt by Suffeli (previous design contest)
Process 1. TL staff will select the winner(s). If there is not an acceptable entry, there may not be a winner. 2. The winning artist will receive a free shirt or hoodie as well as a custom icon on the forums. 3. Once a design is submitted and posted in this thread, it is property of Teamliquid. 4. We will sell the design on a shirt or hoodie in the official TL store. 5. All entries must be received by December 1, 2010.
Rules 1. Post your entry in this thread. There is no limit for entries. 2. You can design a T-shirt or hoodie or both. 3. Have a high resolution version of the design suitable for printing. The higher the resolution, the better. 4. Please make the design feasible. A personalized username and 20 complex graphics may look good, but it's not possible for us to sell it. A low number of unique colors is good.
Logo and Text - TL Logo - TL Text font is Eurostile Std
you spelled it wrong it's supposed to be "taht's your ..."
hm i'm neither really creative nor good with photoshop, so i wont participate, but if a real good hoodie will be created and if it can be shipped to Germany without being too expensive i sure will buy one.

Well, we can easily do an design ourselves, but we feel that a design contest involves the community more and would generate a better design. It's also more fun. If you feel that the "reward" is not worth it, we won't hold it against you that you don't enter.

Considering that if there weren't any teamliquid the contest wouldn't exist, I'm sure that negates the consideration of profits that you mentioned. I mean if they make profits, it's still off of the existence of their own site, so why would they pass on massive profits to someone for making a fan contribution.
On another community site I used to frequent, user t-shirt designs were done in SVG format. These were important because then the resolution of the design became of little consequence.

The example shirt on Huk looks pretty awesome. The minimalism and bold colors really looks nice. Graphic tees are cool but I really prefer simple stuff. However, I'll definitely buy a shirt or hoodie no matter what wins.
To bad I couldn't design something if my life depended on it But I really enjoyed looking at the designs the last time so I will do that again this time. Good luck to all participants.
On a side note: Will the Suffeli Skull shirt ever be sold? I can't remember if it ever was for sale but in any case I didn't have a credit card back when the first contest was held. I do have one know though and it begs me to use it (also still need to buy the winged horse shirt btw)
Pretty sweet, I'm looking forward to the results. I dig that second one, is that actually for sale? I'd totally wear a TL shirt to this rave on friday... if not I may wear my wc3 TFT launchday shirt (yeah I get laid every day by models, sup). Hope someone makes something sick that isn't tooooo horse-y. I'm not a huge fan of horses but so far the two shirts use them well enough that it wouldn't look like I'm repping some corral country club if I wore a TL shirt.
I STRONGLY advise with the new T-Shirt or Hoodies to allow users to enter their own name on the back, much like the Team Liquid players do with their own.
I feel like it would add a more personal touch to it as well as let people in your own community recognize that you're an individual that visits the website and they can actually talk to you if they don't get the chance in real life!
TL is a growing community and I don't think the shirts/hoodies should be excluded! edit: plus the site for the shirt already lets you view the back, would it be that hard to just have a fixed location towards the top with a few select fonts and colors to add? ^^ (I honestly don't know the answer to this, but when I first got my shirt I was kind of sad if someone saw me wearing it at my university they wouldn't be able to address me here just from seeing me at a distance.)
Ill be working on one! This is great, I have an assignment in school, I´m supposed to do a simplistic design in either Illustrator or Photoshop. I guess I´ll do a simplistic shirt-design in Illustrator and get a free shirt + good grades :D
trolls: let me know if you have a better idea for one of the horsies..
awesome! I like thoughts about this shirt!
This is pretty funny. I like it, but I don't know if it'd be best to represent the site with this as a main shirt. If it doesn't win, though, you should still consider making it.
As awesome as the design looks, mizU, we have to remember that it is best to use as few colors as possible, since these are shirts, not posters :/ If you could produce that effect with say 4 colors, it'd be awesome.
Any plans for hosting tournaments for TL merchandise in the future? I think it would bring a nice crowd. I'm considering buying the skull tee-shirt, it's pretty badass I must say, plus I'll be supporting my favorite website, it's a win win.
I'm pretty much sold on that example hoodie. It's the right color, and the simplistic design is exactly what I'm looking for. Sell that as a shirt for a reasonable price, and I'd be the first to buy it.
Can you make this I <3 TL in the I <3 NY style? Put that on a cap and I'd buy it.
Also to the guy using the underlined teamliquid: need to chop the underline for the q (see top banner)
Also @ velo: top one is fkn pimp. I like it if the logo is abstracted a bit. That way you still get the recognition from fellow nerds but you dont look like a tool wearing it in public.
Don't a lot of T-shirt shops let you list the design for free and you only pay a cut of the final sales price. If so, why must we have just one winner? I like a lot of these designs. Wouldn't the ultimate way to see who wins be to list the top designs and see which one sells the most?
I really like a few of these and the one that had the multiple hoodie design. It would a shame for people not to get a chance to wear the one they like best.
very good designs so far. will definitely consider buying one of those hoodies. and btw you should give BigT one of those "i <3 liquid" ones for free :p

awesome ! I would buy them both
awesome design, its fresh and it could actually look good especially in a v-neck style. Better than standardly placed designs and plain styles. (i prefer the one on the top but I love them both) But I like the word placement on the bottom one, like was stated earlier.
And to SenX I like the white one but prefer the logo of the grey one. The white one could look good but man, wearing white is always rough since it loses its white sheen after a couple months =\
I made a new version with the "StarCraft College" because some of you commented that "forem" was misspelled.
When I chose "forem" Old Latin meant "StarCraft Forever", which is well said as I put the original, so there was no error. However, there are two versions so you decide which you like more. Even you can suggest slogans that you like more.
the first from velo with the name placement of the second combined should make for an epic shirt. I like the colouring and the fade, also there's enough place for badging/sponsoring etc etc..

LOVE that first one, hell I just love zip up hoodies way more than generic hoodies, can do so much more with them. The second one the blue and straight dark grey/charcoal don't really feel good together, the heather/grayish first one works really well since its not as straight.

Changed "pattern" so make it more smooth looking and not so grainy, still open to feedback<3 (like this one better tbh)
Like I posted earlier I actually prefer the heather/gray grainy look, it counteracts the very smooth TL blue color perfectly, I would much prefer the 'grainier' look.

Watch hyungjoon, tight is in. If its too loose and baggy it just doesn't look as good, and with a zip up form, you can unzip it and its shows your arms better, assuming you have more than 12 inch biceps. full zip hoodies looks much better a half size down in my opinion.

pull over hoodies can have a custom print on them and sell for 20-25 bucks on most custom design websites like customink. The zip ups might be 25-30, but I know I'd easily drop that much for osmething that looks that good and rep's TL hardcore.

I think this one might look better in black (with white letters).
Nah, if you're trying to do the I<3 NY thing gotta have that exact black font, but at MOST make the tl logo red, but that ruins the whole TL baby blue scheme.

Once again, I know it comes in other colors, but theres a reason if you type i heart NY that white is the dominant color, because that is the original and most commonly seen. There are a million ripofs of that shirt with I heart LA, I heart DC, I heart SF, etc. but the most common will always be a white tee with the black lettering and a red heart.
Back on topic on this contest, I know this is a shirt design contest as the title states but man I hope that heather-gray+TL blue hoodie wins, or is at least made because if its a reasonable price I'd buy one no doubt, if its a very reasonable price I'd get two.

It obviously can be any color you want for a shirt, but the original iconic I <3 NY design was indeed white with black letters. That's what most people would know it by.
I actually worked as an intern for credits at Milton Glaser's studio in new york (the guy who made the logo). That dumb logo was everywhere.

I like the iced style, it reminds me of an awesome hoody I use to have from Argentina. I'd personally like it if one of my <3 shirts won because I'm greedy and want a free t-shirt but there are so many good designs in here. I'll just have to redo all the designs myself in photoshop and have them made for me somewhere on the internet if TL doesn't let us buy all of these designs

Hoodie Entry #2 (non-grainy blue on dark grey) and Entry #3 (iced) from Therick are both phenomenal. I would wear both.
Someone else in the thread mentioned the quality of the hoodie construction. I agree that these two designs would require a quality higher than the typical mass screens done by low budget printers. To pull this off they would need to be nicer. I would spend $40-$50 bucks for one of such quality.

I like the waist/wrist colours the way it is. That shade of blue and that shade of grey looks so good together. xD I'm usually picky about things but like I'm totally in love with this. xP
Definitely still like the 1st one more than the other two. The grainy look is just so good.
We need more entries like this, more custom artwork! I mean taking the TL logo and putting it on a hoodie is cool and all, but I want to see some stuff that is original and sticks out.
Wow there are some really nice entries so far. I would definitely but most of these shirts. The hoodie, the one with the horse on the sleeve and 1 other are my favorites and I would buy them even if they don't win. Can that be arranged by any chance?

I think it would be better to keep it all just the blue TL theme. The red is kind of overpowering.

My first thought before i made the text red was to make it white, for some reason it just does not look good. However all white with the one blue word is an idea ill probably try out! Thanks for the feedback!
I made a couple new versions from the suggestions, i figured out that if i made all the text the same size i could change the one word white and have it look right. Hope you all like them!

it would be great if someone could make a design similar to the t-shirt that TLO and Husky were wearing at blizzcon. I mean front picture with some detailed textures and logo, back picture, maybe just a logo and something on top of the sleeves.
I was thinking of making 3 different shirtdesigns for each race
basically what my idea was to modify the tl logo by a theme of the race. Protoss TL-horse would be yellowish metal with spiky stuff with some blue glowing orbs, etc. Also the font would be themed aswell.

Sounds great, only one way to find out though, make it happen :D

That is one of the few suggestions that is actually professional looking and is viable to print yet looks amazing.
If none of my entries win I really hope this one does.

I like it quite a bit, especially on the blue Tshirt. Possibly remove the "property of" part, but thats just me not liking the fake gym clothing in general. I like how you actually made it so it could be printed easily.

Just curious, why does it say 2002? Is that when TL was created?
I appreciate the support you guys!! Yah delux, it says it was founded/established in 2002. The design can be put on zip hoodies too since the people are crazy bout those =)

Is there anyway to make the deadline for the submissions sooner? I was hoping to purchase Thericks hoodies before Dec 1, but if the deadline is Dec 1... I don't know when they'd be available t.t

i would buy this in a black tshirt. Design is nice.. good job man!
Alright, here's my rough draft. Currently waiting on Illustrator CS5 to add finishing touches, but I figured I'd post this to get some feedback Let me know what you think/like/dislike about the design
That's a pretty badass piece of artwork, Amzi. In fact it's now my desktop background, haha.
To be terribly honest though, I think it'd be awesome for the back of a shirt, with something else on the front. I don't know if I'd want it as is as much as some of these other designs... But yeah I'd totally end up buying it anyway, the concept behind it is just totally badass.
I know what you mean about it being more "back of the shirt" style, although I hadn't fully realized that before. Mayhaps I'll make a simpler design for the front and see how that feels.

Yeah that's a sick design. Any chance you can provide that with a black background (provided you have a transparent version of the graphic itself). I'd love to use it as a desktop, but the white is a deal breaker to me.
Just a tip, for anyone who wants to take it... when you do the lettering, include "teamliquid.net"
I don't see any designs that are advertising the fact that TL is a website. The point of wearing a shirt is to kind of attract attention to something, and the .net makes a lot sense to have on there.
While any insider would LOVE all the designs, without the .net- any casual observer is just going gonna be like o.O

Disagreed. It's about the concept, the community, the team (for me at least) before the site. Also I wanna be able to wear the shirt without it labeling me "nerd" straight off the bat. If it looks awesome as a regular shirt while still being a beacon of recognition for fellow TLers that'd be awesome.
If it will be a zip hoodie plese include backside logo as well. I love hoodies with one logo on the left chest and the other one on the right back side, even if one is just a small one. This gives the shirt a kind of extraordinary character instead of just being an advertisement screen on the chest.
Good job bye the way, I am very impressed with the qualtiy of the entries!
@Pholon: 100% agree, it is nice to have a non nerd shirt that is connected with the professional gaming scene
@Amzi I love it but for the back (as someone mentioned before) or breast pocket. I don't think it's very suited to have it big on your chest.
At first I didn't realize it but the it suddenly hit me. You used organic "sploches" for the Zerg part, round curves for the Protoss part and a blocky style for the Terran part. Shows you really thought about it. Very nice.
@Delux561 I like the one with the white lettering better and not only because of the color but also because of the different sizes of the lettering.

I agree, when it has .net in it, it looks like cheap advertisement for some website. Without it it looks better, and anyway guys who know sc/sc2 scene will recognise it. So pint being you look stupid to strangers and same to tl:ers

It's more expensive, because you can't print in bulk etc
This might be a bit off topic but.. I was wondering if you guys have tried talking to a shirt and clothing company, like maybe JINX. I know they have a whole "StarCraft Collection" and also friends of jinx "Micro stores" where they do more custom type clothing lines. What about stickers? Maybe mouse pads?
I was kind of disappointed when I first came to this site, went to the team liquid store and all that was there was a single shirt..
But back to the topic I like the I <3 team liquid and the velo shirt and as a few people have said I also like the first velo shirt with the 2nd shirts team liquid word placement.

Agree with Pholon. If you do add a .net make it small in the corner on the back of the shirt or something, a simple TL.net.
Regarding player names in the shirts, not sure I like that idea as eSport teams change rosters so often it may become dated quickly. TL will probably be more stable than most but it's inevitable that we will see roster changes in the relatively near future.
Love where you're going with that design. I see that, where it's going towards the race icons, the abstract effect around them is mimicking the idea of that race. However, while the Zerg growth/nature/spatter effect is very detailed and well done, I feel that the designs surrounding the Protoss/Terran icons could use a little more work. I see that you're kind of going with a sci-fi'ish look around the Protoss Icon and more of a geometric design around the Terran icon, but they are still sort of weak compared to the Zerg.
I'd also say that the Teamliquid logo seems to recede and, despite being in the center, not be the center of attention. Maybe that's just me. Perhaps that's because the design overall is pretty topheavy, not sure!
@fauxreal
One of my favorites here. It is pretty simple in concept, but well executed. The existing Teamliquid Logo is clean and sharp, and what you've added to it compliments the logo really well. Kind of reminds me of a coat of arms or family crest of some variety. I prefer it on the hoodie without a zipper, though.
@Therick
That blue/black hoodie is the most simple of them all, I think, but I really dig it.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree that the terran/toss sections are less developed, I'll definitely be adding to them.
I think I can see what you mean by the TL logo being a bit hard to notice. My idea for negating that is to separate each race based section more from the center, and make the logo larger. Suggestions/opinions?

A lot of sexy stuff here, so far I like Therick's shirt the best but it'd be cool to Incorperate Amzi's logo somehow. I <3 this thread, it's like the team spirit page lol.
I have pretty much the same opinions as most people here. therick's designs are awesome (personally I prefer the non-grainy ones).
The fauxreal designs are also great and I would probably buy one of them, but I have no idea why "property of" is in there. To me that just looks weird and might even make me not wear it.

This concept is really awesome but I feel you have a lot of work still.
the background grid stands out too much and kinda looks off in general, maybe you could make a radial gradient that fades to 0% opacity and remove the fill on that layer so it sort of blends with the shirt. or make the lines thiner or sth. perhaps try a different form that the blocks do. maybe make them smaller too.
the type is terrible imo, I think you should get rid of that motion blur or whatever and tone down the kerning. font and size are alrite I guess but you should play with that as well.
the illustration I really like, maybe you can improve it by cleaning it up, make it look like a vector based artwork, currently it looks like its painted on paper or something.
you should also consider recreating the thing entirely using illustrator/corel or vectorizing it - this way you can scale it as much as you want and you can manage your print colours properly rather than facing a nightmare with those 30 different shades of yellow if you eventually have to print.
these are just ideas for you to consider of course, don't take my opinion to heart if you disagree.

I really think your designs have potential
My only complaint is the Font and the effect on the text. They dont fit the rest of the shirt IMO.
I'm liking how this thread is developing but there's one thing that I strongly believe when it comes to properly representing your product is to put the vector of the logo on the product unaltered and use the correct font.
I think in this case that simple is better. The two below styles keep the logo unaltered.
On October 26 2010 15:03 velo wrote: A couple of ideas I was messing around with. Feedback welcome, I will make changes to them if people like them.
This one is quite unique but the icon is still clear. I probably wouldn't leave the back of shirt empty Perhaps team liquid written on the back or something. Eitherway, I'd happily purchase the simpler, second shirt.

These are by far my favourite in this entire thread. Simple, no bullshit and straight to the point. Bonus points for keeping the logo pure. Again, I'd consider putting something on the back, such as the team's name or a larger, duplicate logo.
This last design is getting a lot of positive feedback (and it is good) but it doesn't properly represent the product. I do like the wings on the outside but the mirrored logo would be better if it weren't mirrored at all.

Obviously this is my own opinion. Noone has to agree
Only thing bothering me about the new one, Sh0guni, is the Protoss Graphics under the text. As it stands, I think it would look better without them. If you want to try re-making them, though, the thing that bothers me most about them is that they feel cropped right under the text. Protoss stuff is so organic but they end in a straight edge underline. Also, the little spikes on them should be pointing inwards I think, not outwards.
One of my favorites, still. Looking forward to seeing T/Z versions.
they told us to get creative, if they wanted their given horse logo and given font to be slapped on a hoodie template, the end, then they would have done it themselves... people seem to be missing the point of this thread. if you see TLO wearing his teamliquid tshirt on GSL, they already have a plain logo and text tee.
@shoguni i like the new updated look. maybe move the text up a few more pixel so its more middle between top and bottom gfx pieces.
They encourage us to be original and come up with our own designs but quite frankly about 100 people have proven that you don't need an original piece of artwork to have something look absolutely freaking amazing and have people buy the product.
Say what you will, but the hoodie is still the majority's favorite. Maybe its simple, but so have the last few shirts TL has made.

Here's new one:
Changed it quite a bit (got rid of that godawful font -.-), also lowered the amount of colours in the logo to make it easier for prints.
Tried a lot of different fonts, but I think that one fits the theme nicely.
Thoughts?
Thats a step in the right way but a raw trace wont cut it I'm afraid, if you straighten the paths on the highlights and shadows properly I think it'll look amazing. live trace can be too sloppy and precise at the same time causing it still to look like a raster and messing up your detail. you can either do that or redraw the whole thing in illustrator, I know it may seem like a lot of work but its really not and the outcome would be much much better.
About the type, eh.. if you really like that style I'd suggest using Avant Garde but otherwise I'd recommend something classic like Futura or Frutiger. Or just use Helvetica like a normal person. ;p
Also I really think you should get the kerning straight, note the first and second "i" in "liquid" in example.
Just try to make the illustration flat, like 1 colour yellow for the background shape, 1 for shadows, 1 for borders, 1 for highlights etc.
On the print note its easy to print as it is, since this particular one would use only cyan and yellow of cmyk and thats essentially 50% cheaper.
On November 05 2010 09:50 laste wrote:On the print note its easy to print as it is, since this particular one would use only cyan and yellow of cmyk and thats essentially 50% cheaper.
The black outlines would be a color, too. The K in CMYK stands for Black. And they'd have to use a white ink for any highlights (I think) since its not printed on a white shirt.

This one is my favorite so far. Place this one on the back with a teamliquid.net at the top between the toss and zerg logos, and a Team Liquid logo on the front.
Hello TL! Long time lurker and first time poster here. Been looking for motivation to stop playing starcraft and paint more in photoshop, this contest turned out to be the perfect opportunity to combine the two.

Draft of my design:
Still very unfinished, still thinking about the text placement, colours, image placement and there is still lots of detailing left.
So - i would really need and appreciate any suggestions and feedback you have! :D
new fav for sure, if they're able and willing print this, it would be pretty sick. nice job

Here's new one:
Changed it quite a bit (got rid of that godawful font -.-), also lowered the amount of colours in the logo to make it easier for prints.
Tried a lot of different fonts, but I think that one fits the theme nicely.
Thoughts?
Definitely the best entry so far! I love the creativity, and I hope we'll see some more cool stuff come up in the next few weeks! :D
Awesome, but i think the shadows and highlights would be better if they were choppier.. Like use straight lines on the highlights anime style for toss/terran and circle ones for zerg..
As a tshirt thats my favorite, 2nd favorite in this thread overall, incorporating the horse, the logo, and the idea of teamliquid is actually really clever

Yeah that looks awesome. Well I think it still needs some work like the creator says, but it's still awesome.
I really hope they use more than 1 of these designs, there are way too many awesome designs in this thread to only pick one.
Clean ,simple ,to the point and taking into account production cost. Its made with corel draw 15 but also saved it as corel 9.0 aswell .Here are the download links :

On the print note its easy to print as it is, since this particular one would use only cyan and yellow of cmyk and thats essentially 50% cheaper.
laste you sound like an expert yourself, why not do some designs of your own?
Sh0guni, that looks brilliant mate, really looking forward to the T and Z designs!
I would love to have a T-Shirt similar to those which TL players are wearing at the MLG Dallas. Example: It is really cool. With a posibility of customization on the back part (nickname) - awesomeness.
I pretty much just realized that the shirt doesn't really fit into the category "what you usually put on t-shirts", might be a bit influenced by designbyhumans.com shirts. So, do you guys actually want to wear it? If not i might try some different kind of approach.

I know why you put the 'stripes' on the head of the horse, but they just don't seem to fit in with the whole theme of the horse coming out of the water, it looks like his head is shooting water out of it for no reason.
I absolutely LOVE the design a few pages back, just the blue on black, where each races personality is portrayed graphically, and the TL logo in the middle. I would definitely wear that on my chest. A+, i wanna see more drafts of that.
So I decided to make some "grittier" designs. these are the two. Theres one for teamliquid players, and one for people that are just supporting teamliquid.
more to come
Spraypaint
Spraypaint Reverse
Clean Text Version
Brush Style (nonteam)
obviously i would tweak a few things but i hope you like the basic concept
On November 08 2010 10:56 ZlaSHeR wrote: That ones pretty sick, although for a TL shirt I'd rather rep teamliquid and not the players names. Other than that I like the design.
if you look the 1st design is an example of the fan version, where the sleeve just has the normal teamliquid graphic.
the other ones are just done for variation examples

God, so many good hoodies ones especially the blacks ones. They looks infinitely better than the officials imo... But you know, tastes and colors... I think we can pretty much agree that simple and dark wears are good for europeans.
At the end of all of this, can we have a poll vote conducted? Of course, admins get final say, but I think it would be nice to organize all this stuff.

Imma go nuts when thericks entries are not going to make it through >< I so want to buy entry 2 from therick. Those colour combination is what suits me. Guess I'll be spending some money on TL shirts :D

I'm flatted that you'd consider me an expert, but its nothing really beyond common knowledge. Even if I were to have expert advice, I'd hardly drop it just out of the goodness of my heart.
While I'd love to produce designs for TL, I take my work sort of seriously and I don't participate in crowdsourcing - its an elite form of mockery and ridicule of my noble profession(and many others), even if its non-profit and is for this awesome community^^. I don't mean to be cocky, its not 'bellow' me or anything, I just don't like contests is all.

Wow in one post you manage to shit on every single submission in the thread, everyone who has put in time and effort into making this, the community in general, and anything that doesn't involve getting paid.
You start off by implying that no one here is taking this seriously. Then you go on to say crowd sourcing, an open call to do work on something without getting payed is "an elite form of mockery and ridicule" Attacking crowd sourcing like that is an attack on anything voluntary, from open source programming projects, to wikipedia, to habitat for humanity.
Teamliquid is staffed entirely by volunteers, so according to you, by contributing to the community with his wizardry R1CH is actually mocking, and ridiculing all professional programmers, which, of course, includes himself.
Don't even get me started on calling what ever profession you are in noble.

Get over your self.
I wasn't trying to imply that people don't take their work seriously I was merely remarking on the fact that crowd sourcing design work for profit is bad if you make your living out of this. ( again, clearly not the case here )
Onto the terms, which you've clearly mixed up,
Crowdsourcing is the act of outsourcing tasks, traditionally performed by an employee or contractor, to a large group of people. In sites like 99designs, for example, you go and post a 'contest' for a logo lets say with a reward of $50, 120 people make a logo and enter, you pick one. - thats crowd sourcing, and thats whats a mockery of my profession. - thats why I don't like contests, thats why I wont be participating.
Open source projects and volunteer work are like, really different things from crowd sourcing, its beyond me how you can be so angry to twist my words so much. Did we meet in ladder or something? :p
Also I was being sarcastic when calling my profession noble, designing graphics surely doesn't quite fit into that category.

Hi,
We made it very clear we would be selling the design that wins. It's completely your right to not participate in the contest. I even understand the conflict among artists about this sort of thing. However, this thread is not the place to be discussing those issues, as we are not forcing anyone to participate in this. Thus, please keep your objections or personal opinions about "crowd sourcing" out of this thread as it is just derailing it and drawing attention away from the contest and it's legitimate entries.
If you want to discuss this further feel free to make a topic in Website Feedback.
While you're here Hot Bid, I think you should choose more than one design to be the winner, theres simply too many good ones here so far that deserve to be up! I know for sure that I and many others would buy more than 1!
To be fair, my gf is an artist and I completely understand laste's sentiment, and don't see why you're blowing up on him so hard nukethe. Fact is, most contests small prize will benefit 1 out of 100 amateur or even professional artists that are trying to make a living off of it. I don't know what you do but if people started giving away small petty amounts for work that you should get paid a good amount for, in the end it amounts to dulling the competition and therefore screwing over people who are trying to make a living off of it. Just try to understand their sentiment, he's not trying to shit on all the submissions but just doesn't support something that is hurting his career as well as tens if not hundreds of thousands of others worldwide.
Ok now that I got that out of the way, when does this competition end? Or is there no set due date, and submissions will just keep rolling in? I can tell that this thread has been slowing down considerably the past week, and wanted to know if that grey hoodie with the blue lining would be winning soon ;3
For no apparent reason I started designing some t-shirts (instead of working).
1. Model using a modified version of Amzi's design. (I repeat, the thing in the middle of the t-shirt is Amzi's desgin, I just modified it a bit to make the protoss "heavier" and then slapped it on top of a t-shirt image) + Show Spoiler +
black t-shirt with logo on the front black t-shirt with logo on the arm

hey thank you all for the comments on my design, i really appreciate it (both positive and negative comments :D ) i tried to make a coloured version aswell but i tought that it could be difficult for the print on other colours of shirts: it would look cool on the white shirt but i don't know how it would look on a different background color... and also i didn't really know which colours to pick so i kept it b&w :D ah and if it gets picked mybe i can add the tl logo and name on the edge of the sleeve or else... anyways thanks again for the feedback

There is sooo much greatness here. I've been holding off buying my TL-gear until there are more stuff and this is looking very promising! I'm not sure how many of the designs TL can get away with offering without taking large financial risks but the more the better, I'll buy all of them!

on a more serious note, does anyone know how long shipment to Europe (Germany) usually takes ? I mean, Is there a chance of getting it before Christmas ?
Let's do some "math", supposedly the winners are announced by 7th, let's give the TL folks another week to "set up" the products, this means the shirts are in the store by the 14th. I'm going on vacation on the 22nd which means that the shipment people have 8 days to deliver the shirt Somehow I don't think that's possible.

The desings are all vector graphics, so if there needs to be changes, it won't be a problem
Holy crap these are SICK! I'm not really a fan of the zerg one, but the terran/protoss ones look sick, especially on their respective colored shirts. Would definitely pick some up if TL offered them at the affordable $20 cost (I hate looking at shirts online only to find they cost $20 + something stupid for shipping. ~_~).
Sorry this is taking so long, we can't really announce unless we know it's viable to mass produce and sell. In order to do that, we need to contact manufacturers and distributors, and they are all overloaded due to the holiday rush. We really like the concept of a lot of the designs, we're just figuring out if we can actually sell them.

It's ok! The suspense is great!
EDIT: and THANKS for doing this! It's a legit way to get the community involved! ^^
Ah I respect a legitimate reason. In that case, take your time TL. I'd rather have an awesome shirt/hoodie later than a crappy, peely shirt/hoodie on time.

I'm not that talented with photoshop, but I think it would be really cool if someone made the tl horse logo also look like a flexed arm with a clenched fist, like the "We can do it!" rosy the riveter slogan from world war 2, while still preserving its horse look.

Probably not going to happen, sorry
You mean the hoodies probably won't be happening at all, or just not anytime soon? That's really disappointing news if they won't be happening at all.
Woah, im really amazed about how many people like my concept, and for that i <3 you all. Personally im stunned at how good all the entries are in this thread, cant wait to see which one will win
Process taking longer than expected. First shirt we produce is likely not going to be from the contest, but second shirt may be. Hoodies won't be for a while, and we checked around about the exact one replicated in the thread and it's pretty impossible to produce cost-effectively at that quality.
No ETA on when they will be available, sorry for the lack of data but please be patient. This is our first experience with mass shirt production.
Is that to suggest that these shirts are going to be shipped directly from Teamliquid HQ as opposed to something like Printfection? If so, I hope you guys will sign shirts if requested ^_^
Heh, I had a feeling the hoodie would be a bit more complicated. Seriously though, take your time on the hoodie cause I want it to be legit, not some crappy pasted square on a default monochrome. But on the other hand, any T-shirt but the current winged horse in the store is fine by me (hoping for the actual Team shirts though! :D)

Totally agree with this, quality takes the precedence for that epic hoodie

I know this is old but my only suggestions is to have the single name on the top row and the double names on the following three. Looks much better having the larger quantity on bottom then crowning the top. Awesome designs all around though. My first time viewing this thread and I would probably buy 5-6 shirts in here.
