Don't post in this thread to say "gay gamers are like everyone else, why do they have a special thread?" It is something that has been posted numerous times, and this isn't the place for that discussion.

For regular posters, don't quote the trolls.

Yeah I can't imagine many American guys doing that, although I think younger generations of actors would be more willing to try. Or so I can hope. :D

...or just watch porn. Boys kiss in that all the time.

There are actually tons of gay kisses on television, it's just that no one makes a big deal out of them so you don't ever notice/see them.

And I'm pretty sure the past 4 or 5 episodes of Family Guy and American Dad have been Seth McFarlane's gay fantasies. He's just not even trying to hide it anymore.

Pfft, boys kissing on normal television is way better than porn. Unless you're just trying to get your rocks off, of course

Fair enough. Is it weird that the animated version of Ryan Reynolds got me all hot and bothered?

Yes, yes it is

To be honest, I'm way more shocked that Korean guys would be willing to do that, considering how unacceptable homosexuality is there compared to how acceptable (relatively speaking) it is in the West. I was talking to a friend last night about this and made the joke that it's all just "male-bonding,"* and she said, "No, in a lot of those scenes, the next step is clearly fucking." So I don't know what's up with that.

Torchwood and some parts of DW are gay-friendly, as are Due South's last two seasons, IMO, if anyone's looking for shows. Those are the gayest Western shows I can think of that were/are mainstream that I've watched.

*The logic's a bit twisted, but since homosexuality isn't even seen as a viable option in Asia for the most part, it's more culturally acceptable for people of the same sex to be all touchy-feely with each other as opposed to being touchy-feely with the opposite sex, because people generally don't look at them and think, "Oh, they're gay!" Which I guess is why a lot of guys in, say, America are generally more unwilling to be touchy with other guys unless they're totally comfortable with themselves and don't give a fuck about what other people think, because they would receive a lot more of the gay speculation than those in Asia do. At least that's the impression I'm under.

Well I just watched that video and I have to agree with your friend, the next step is clearly tenderly fucking...it's almost weird to see people act that close and NOT have sex.

OH SH*T You're twisted logic appears to be spot on!!

Sorry if some of this has already been asked -.-

Personally I'm an agnostic athiest,

There's no such thing. Agnostic = atheist. Both descriptions mean that you do not believe in a god.

If by some miracle God appeared before us in all His Splendour and Glory, atheists aren't gonna go "well, there is still no god", which is really the only distinction agnostic/atheist tries to draw.

No, there's a difference.

Agnostic means you believe that you cannot know whether there is a god or not. Atheist means you believe there is no god.

My guess is that when this guy says agnostic atheist (poor, vague phrasing) he means he is agnostic (thinks you cannot know) who leans atheist (feels pretty sure that there is no god).

There is no difference there. Atheists believe there is no god, because evidence doesn't point that way, ditto agnosticism.

As you say yourself, "Agnostic means you believe that you cannot know whether there is a god or not", ergo the status quo is not believing in god, and not believing in god = atheism. Either you believe in god or you don't.

The difference is that one side believes it is possible to know, the other believes it is impossible to know. Semantics, maybe, but a difference. Anyway, back to the thread at hand! :p

From wikipedia:
Agnostic atheism, also called atheistic agnosticism, is a philosophical position that encompasses both atheism and agnosticism.[1] Agnostic atheists are atheistic because they do not hold a belief in the existence of any deity and agnostic because they claim that the existence of a deity is either unknowable in principle or currently unknown in fact.

There that solves it; now you know who's wrong

Nowww back to the thread at hand!

btw those penny arcade videos were really cool.

those were pretty neat, but I wish they had actually developed the trans character more.

Like I can't really think of any trans characters in video games (bridget is awesome, but SO doesn't count) other than poison...and the way they are handling her is kinda facepalmish.

this and many other reasons can be pointed to as to why those videos are inadequate. However, they are also among the first and most public videos addressing this issue, so props must be given there I suppose.

They were entertaining and mostly correct, if incomplete.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't think I could ever put my penis into a vagina. I've grabbed and groped my fair share of boobies and lady butts, and even in some of my drunker states been known to let my hands playfully go lower (above clothing ONLY and not for very long *shudder*) but that's as far as i'd take it. Made out with some girl friends as well, if that counts for anything. Definitely not full blown intercourse, though. The thought kind of gives me the heebie jeebies.

I'm sure that there are some gay men who have had sexy times with the ladies, but that was probably when they were younger/unsure/etc.

And that Zach Wahls! So great. Saw Destiny watching it and then saw it on this thread so gave it a look-see. Wonderful stuff. A 19 year old who can speak/compose himself better than some 24+ year olds I know isn't something to scoff at. I'd be interested to see what the people speaking after him had to say.

Hey all. Like most I have been lurking around only reading the thread but I recently have been stumped about a few things and wanted to ask you fine people for some advice. I also saw that religion came up in the thread and while I have no desire at all to discuss religion here. Also, I guess we should have to assume that my beliefs are not subject to change. Ok, so here we go, sorry for the long post.

I grew up Catholic and in a Catholic School. I didn’t care for it and come high school I gave it up. I liked the idea of having a moral code and being a good person, just not the crippling guilt that seemed to accompany it. Ok so in college I really rediscovered my faith. Basically I just accepted that the world is broken, there is a purpose to life and therefore there is a creator and the only way for him to redeem us would be to sacrifice himself. Moving on.

About three years ago I began chatting online with and eventually sleeping with men. This game along with guilt, shame, and self loathing on a level I hadn’t heard of. Apparently, this was not a random occurance. I had never had a girlfriend, kisses a girl, had sex with a girl. Going back through old journals in high school I also found that I had asked out a few guys and had sexual fantasies about guys going back to middle school. However all I had been doing with guys was sex. This was really destroying me. April this year, I tried to kill myself. I suffer from bipolar depression apparently and I have spent a good amount of time with therapists and psychiatrists and all that jazz. So I am seriously messed up lol. Now my beliefs is that the whole Bible is true and if any word of it is a lie than the character of God is questionable and therefore any of it can be a lie and none of it is trustworthy. I don’t know if I believe if this is a choice. I know, that I cannot choose my attraction. I can choose whether I act upon this attraction, that’s a choice. However, I can’t choose if a guy turns me on but I can choose to act on that attraction. I can get over the faith stuff. The Bible is clear of this, no one is perfect, no one can be perfect and therefore we are saved not based upon our actions but based upon our faith. Although most of my friends are Christian and most of them are seriously motivated to keeping me straight.

The advice I get normally sucks. Non Christians will be quick to demand I just get over it and be gay since I’ve had sex with guys, etc. Christians I talk to don’t hate gay people they just encourage me as someone on the fence to not be gay. So this is all a mess in my head obviously but my debate is upon attraction. I have little to no experience or data to compare anything to anything. I have never been in a relationship with any gender. I have no experience of any kind with women. I have had sex with men and despite the overwhelming amount of hate and disgust I feel toward myself, I loved it. I haven’t been in a relationship with a guy and I cant imagine ever being in one with a guy. The big thing is I barely look at guys and go “he is cute” or “he is hot” or anything. I fantasize about guys but that’s about it. I find women gorgeous and such, absolutely gorgeous but I dunno.

I dunno. I don’t think I’m bi. I don’t like the idea of being bi, I dunno. I feel stuck in my life until I figure this out. Its awful. Sorry for the long post but any advice or help would be great. Feel free to PM me or whatever.

I have made out with girls but never gone any further. I could never have sexy with a lady because I can't keep my boner for it. I've actually had to explain that to them which is a pretty funny conversation. "No, it's not that I won't have sex with you, I literally cannot have sex with you, I cannot keep an erection for a woman." They do not like hearing that.

Lol that sounds like the time when I was on a lot of caffeine everyday. I picked up some girl and then when the time came to deliver the goods I simply couldn't put out, so I had to explain the concept of stim dick and she seemed frustrated while I was ashamed of myself.

I've enjoyed both parties and am happy enjoying both parties (and if I was forced to choose I would go male, its much more pleasant to me). And I do consider myself bi (though when it comes down to it I'm probably 90-95% gay, assuming it was measurable...I do have attraction towards women, but I go bonkers over men). Its definitely a different world with a vagina, but real women do anal and that isn't different from a man's ass in my experiences!

And Iniggo, I won't bring religion into it, I abandoned my religious upbringing back in Middle School and I have a very weird view on it. But avoiding that point, my philosophy is act where your body leads. Being bi is an option, despite the skepticism of "being on the fence" it is possible. If your heart is telling you that men are what you need, then listen to it! Don't try and conform to what others want. If you aren't comfortable with that, then look deep and ask yourself is that what you really want. I'm probably not the best advice giver, I'm just passing what my friend told me. She's helped me so much in finding out about myself and I used to be ashamed and afraid of it because it wasn't "acceptable" by some people's standards, but the only standards you should worry about are your own.

Ineggo, it seems to me that you're gay but your religious beliefs and faith, for good or bad, are clouding how you are able to look at it.

Basically it comes down to the fact that a) you believe in the bible literally b) you are gay and want to act on it. Unfortunately a) and b) are fundamentally imcompatible, so there's not a lot you can do than choose one or the other.

My ex was bi and he said he preferred guys a lot more because they're so much easier to get along with and the sex is a lot more fun haha. When guys don't understand why guy sex is so much more fun I explain it to them like this:

Imagine you were having an awesome night of video games, pizza, and beer with your friends. Yall all play, talk shit, and have a blast while getting tipsy and fat on pizza and stay up till like 3am just playing and talking shit. Now imagine you're guaranteed anal at the end of said awesome night. That's why being gay is awesome.

It's hard to argue with that.

But the sad thing is that I do not think many of them are actually gay or bi, like most women who kiss other women on screen are simply gay for pay.

It's pretty much fanservice for girls.

But what shocks me is that it is impossible to imagine many guys in America kissing one another to please a girl or get their attention like girls here often do or can do.

Well koreans are very very used to touching each other. It ´was a bit awkward when I met my first korean friends and went out with an all korean group and they were massaging each other and putting a hand on someone elses lap is normal. But once you get used to it its kinda nice lol :D

Haha I laughed reading this. That was a fun explanation. :D

Wow that Zac Wahls guy! Really inspiring I have to say.
