Are you still gona host transtasman 2 in phase 2?

I'll keep that in mind, cheers

With lots of people opting to go to the US server rather than the default SEA server, it's going to be hard to have proper competitive scene in Aus.
IWNet BNet2.0 is not looking so great

Wait; so do we get to nominate which server we go on?
Or is it defaulted to the version you buy.

yeah i made a thread a few days ago about this link
generally speaking you get a better connection to US than you do to SEA because the route that our data takes to SEA is bad quality and very long.
Just change your adress on your battle.net account to somewhere in america and you are good to go on the US servers

Hahahah I couldn't agree more with you! and I actually reckonise your name from the gotgames.com.au forums.. I've been playing again since the beta went down, going into the Cevo ODC.

It's really easy to keep competition up assuming you get all the players on the one server with chat rooms. A few websites out there like cybergamer and TL where you can meet up and publicise events. Just host some long-term tournies. Either a regular single or double elimination tour held every weekend, or a state competition, or a team competition, etc.
As long as it's frequent it will get people socialising and motivated to practice. Something like the GB&Ire tourneys by Flicky or SC1's SoO.
what happened to the AUS BW website? Teamaus.org or w/e ... revive it and create an aussie community. That will make things easier than trying to handle an entire nation of a community through secondary websites like TL.

Oscillate stopped paying the bills T_T I liked that site too, was just picking up activity. TL is great though, very accommodating and any events run through here benefit both TL and those running it. Just out of loyalty any events I may do will include TL as a major part of it

I might do, though I will be in Canberra for the holidays without a SC2-friendly PC so it really just depends on timing. Will try get back to Sydney in time especially seeing as Dox already sent the prizemoney!

If you need any help in organising or administration I'm more than happy to help you out in that regard instead of play.

I guess all we can do at the moment is pray for Blizzard to get their act together.
It would be very disappointing if the scene disintegrates due to such a stupid problem after such a long wait.

I don't know what it is about cs, it's like that the world round. SC definitely has the best game community I've found.

I have been a part of quite a few gaming communities too. Most recently I spent a lot of time playing WoW as an officer and leader of a few top oceanic guilds. The average age of that community must have been 12 and finding 25 intelligent players was impossible. We would bring along ~18 good people then stuff the rest of our raids with scrubs and just carry them. WC3 before that wasn't much better.
The Team Liquid community is by far the most intelligent and enjoyable gaming community I have ever been a part of. I look forward to Australia showing the rest of the world that we can be competitive SC2 players too!

aside from moonglade are there any other top level sc2 players worth keeping an eye on for this tournament?

Off topic, will be in perth for a couple nights at the end of the week. is there anything to do there aside from the fetal position and waiting until i get back to civilization?

Oh damn, an Australian SC2 scene? I'd love to get involved, although I only started playing Starcraft as of SC2 beta's patch 11.
Good thing I'm a Korean Australian though, hopefully my genes will give me a boost
