What is this? Gamestop and Lanknights present a Lan to remember, the first Sc2 team liquid meetup in the state of Flroida (hopefully not the last) hosted at Ucf. This will be a large scale lan and tournament event for sc2!! How big? Big enough for me to have a mainstage and mic to shoutcast/project fun stuff, as well as for gamestop to give 100$ giftcard (cant be cash bc its on campus) and 50$ giftcard to 1st and second place. Not to mention more unofficial prizes to be announced.

I have several friends from tampa/gainsville that would be interested in coming/participating and I'd be possibly interested in a maybe helping cast some games there. I've got me and between 1 and 4 others that would be interested in just going and i think at least 2 that would love to participate in the tournament.

You can park wherever you want, a daily permit is 5$, can be acquired in the garages. Garage A and H are the closest to the student union, which is where the lan is at. Also, garage A is the easiest to find, you will literally go into garage A if you go straight into UCF (assuming you come down university blvd).

Yeah, I mean I would imagine most people would have games like CS or HoN on their computer for a game or two, but it is a sc2 lan and it isn't more than a day so I think most people will just be playing sc2.
you should also host a sc:bw tournament(then i would definitely come as i haven't switched to sc2), if you go there expecting to play sc:bw, all the newbs will be wondering why you don't have or want to play sc2.
Currently the game list is SC2, SC, TF2, and Shattered Horizons. I know we will add HoN to that list and other popular valve games are generally played at the lans. Please don't MMOs while at the lan

thats easily solved with a group stage, a group stage allows us to create teh brackets we need regardless of number of attendance

Ok, we are coming really close to capacity, and I know there are quite a few people that did not RSVP. I don't want to have to turn anyone away, so make sure you RSVP. I will close registration tomorrow some time after noon. At the moment we do not plan on turning anyone away if we go over, but currently we only have enough tables and chairs for 100 people. Power is a huge issue which is why we can not go above this number.

The party is in the student union. There is a sbarro, subway, burger king, q-doba(mexican) and asian chao in the building, along with a chick-fil-a nearby, although I don't know what all will be open on Saturday. So bring money for food unless you want to go hungry (the fast food on campus is a little more expensive than typical franchise prices).
Some important information regarding the LAN event tomorrow. Please make sure you read it all.
The event is being held in the Student Union of UCF in Room 316. This is on the 3rd floor of the building. You can get there from using either the main elevator or the service elevator. There is a loading dock (on the map) which you can unload your equipment and bring it upstairs via the elevator. When you enter the building, the elevator is to your left. WE NOR THE UNION ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOST EQUIPMENT. Please keep an eye on all of your belongings at all times. Once you have unloaded and moved your equipment upstairs, please move your car immediately.
Parking is located at a number of places around campus. If you do not have a permit, you can purchase a temporary pass for $5 from a machine in one of the lots or garages. Suggested parking is lot D1 or C1 as it is easily accessible from the loading dock. You may park in any spot labeled B, C, or D with this pass. DO NOT park in any spot labeled RESERVED, SERVICE VEHICLE, or meter parking spots as these are enforced 24 hours a day.
In way of equipment, please bring everything you would to run your computer. Computer, monitor, power cables, surge strip, and headphones. No speakers will be allowed and DO NOT bring a battery backup system as these cause more harm than good. We will be tight on electrical so do not bring any extra accessories that are not absolutely neccessary. We will provide network cables, however you may bring your own just in case.
The event is planned to start at 10am, you may come as early as 9:40 to get your equipment inside. We may still be setting up, as the event capacity has changed, we have modifications to make. Unfortunetly due to summer hours of the union, we have to vacate the room by 8pm. This is out of our control and we are fined if we do not. We have agreed to have an after party of sorts after the event. Plans are still being finalized, but we have been welcomed to come hang out and play at Next Level LAN (6947 University Blvd.). Final details on this will be annouced towards the event of our event.
The Starcraft 2 tournament is slated to start at Noon, so please arrive before then.

I'm at the lan, we got it worked out. We had to have everyone proxy to play, there's some sort of limit for the amount of people on one ip. Thanks again Blizzard get lan support for the love of gaming.
Hey I was at the LAN yesterday and I spoke to a couple people with extra beta keys. I have a second computer set up at my house that I would love to run SC2 on so my buddy can play, he doesn't have a key or a computer right now. If anyone has an extra key and wants to get some use out of it for a few days before the beta ends,.. please PM me. Thanks!

Hey, I think you met my brother yesterday, Peepers. I have a Europe email you could use and I could just change the pw for your friend to use if he wanted to try it on Europe. If I had another US key I would let you use it though.

Don't worry we have a big lan set up i think on july 31st for sc2 launch event, going to post more info when it gets closer to release. We also have smaller scale less sc more other game focused lans so if you goto ucf or are in the area and want to hit those up just keep an eye on www.lanknights.net because we post the lan events a week or 2 in advance on there.

ok i know you guys are looking for updates so heres where I'm at. I really want flaming turd to play vs twitch or else i get a by. I am a proud peruvian Whiplash, im just here studying animation because there is nowhere that I can study Animation in Peru that compares to the education i'd get here on that subject.
I've been living here for 3 years, and I will have a work visa when i graduate if i choose to stay, but most likely i'll be going back to Peru later this year, I love my country to much, so no NEVAR!!!

I still need to play him, and I won't accept the free win because that's pretty dumb since I just beat my 1st round guy the day before.
Lol the brackets are hilarious, its like catz is the only one actively trying to finish this tourney. Catz's half of the brackets are done up to the finals, and the other half is still in the ro16 >.>
just have whiplash play skyfive and winner play catz or something lol thats very likely how it will turn out
