I just thought I would get some information about preventing something that I thought may be an unnecessary con to lifting. You have won the glove battle. But perhaps I will invest in some chalk.

Seriously, if you wanna wear gloves, wear gloves. Any pair will do, they should be as thin as possible though. As mentioned, for lifting weights it's far from optimal and if you wanna improve your performance you should go without them. With some handcare you can prevent big ugly callouses as has been said. I actually see mine only some hours after lifting. And although I love the Rippetoe quote, I believe you won't be less of a man if you wear gloves. I would only be concerned if they actually do match your purse.

I only wearing the sparringly nowdays if im wet and loosing the grab in some exercises , but again i prefer straps for it . So i skip them and have a much better feeling without them. The main point is , that ur skin will react to the increase weight and will create them to resist the pain in the long time. gloves or not gloves . Of course go ahead and buy if it feels confortable for you .

Dim, before you call me gay. ;P. I only use them for weighted dips because the plastic cover on the dip bar I use seem to dig into my palms pinching nerves. Although lately I just throw my towel over both the bars. Eshlow, what are your thoughts on weight lifting belts during heavy squats and deadlifts? Edit: Decaf as well, do you use them?

on a side note (more of a rant really), i happened to watch a PT in action teaching a newbie how to do the dumbbell shoulder press. right off the bat the newbie's grip was wrong. he didn't have his thumb around the bar and the dumbbell was sitting in his fingers rather than his palm. good form means more efficient lifting, but more importantly safe lifting. with poor form like that, injury is only a matter of time for that poor newbie, who btw happens to be spending a ton of cash for something he could be learning himself through proper research. it's not a big deal or anything but i guess part of me is hoping that there are still some decent PTs out there..hell i could do a better job than those PTs at the gym i go to. the mainstream fitness industry is just sad... ok end of rant.

Also, the side gains I get from tougher hands are awesome. I can pick up coals and put them back in the fire without a problem. I can test liquid with my finger to see if it is hot enough without fear of seriously burning myself.

Nordic naturals in generall is pretty good like the above said. So is carlson's. I personally use this one. Iherb has good international shipping I think too for any of you who read this ($5 flat or something like that) and is generally cheaper that most other places. http://www.iherb.com/Nature-s-Answer-Liquid-Omega-3-Deep-Sea-Fish-Oil-EPA-DHA-Natural-Orange-Flavor-16-fl-oz-480-ml/7908?at=0 It's liquid but it tastes of orange which is nice. There's also a discount code for first time buyer if anyone is interested. If anyone goes to costco I know a bunch of people that use the kirkland pill brand well and then just chug down a lot of pills. That works too if you want to go that route. IMO you don't NEED one with any form of tocopherol (vitamin E) unless you want I guess.

but in order for fish oils to sustain more time between shipping - delivery and storage note that all fish oils are very vulnerable to heat , every o3 even on nuts etc. should it has been compromised the o3 becomes a risk factor for health ( short of poison) for the body and should be avoided you can understand this when there is a bitter taste. so vitamin E as tocopherol is the best way to perserve o3 till from production to consumption

Although most containers are pretty obliquely shaded glass now, and if you refridgerate you're fine. Good call though if you wanna go this route. I don't know many specific vit E fish oil supplements you can find though o_O
