Woah, that's awesome :o Should definitaly buy some, in the winter we have like 6 hours of sunlight and I'm working indoors during those hours
Got anything for my skin (acne/scars)?
|
You dont have enough time to put on muscle or cut fat noticeably. Or both. So no. Never a bad time to start though.
|
You could do a few pushups beforehand to get a pump going? :p
|
18 days? hahah... not to be mean or anything but body changes aren't overnight. Even SS isn't overnight.
That's why people bulk during the fall/winter in ANTICIPATION for the spring/summer.
You need a couple months to make any significant body composition changes... however it may be possible to cut some fat off in 18 days but you'd just look super skinny given that build.

Acne and wound healing is all about eating correctly.
If you're getting a lot that tends to mean you're eating too poorly... either too much processed foods, or too much refined sugars, or things that you're allergic to.

well I don't need to bulk up a lot, I just want my abs and pecs to be visible instead of the 1/2 centimeter protrusions that they are right now. So from + Show Spoiler + to something like + Show Spoiler +
possible at all?
|
Yes, in 12-18 months perhaps with strict nutrition and exercise.

Just stocked up on vitamin D and fish oil! Felt great going to the gym after a 5-day break.
Also, I think I'm going to Cancun in the coming April, definitely a deadline to work towards!

I MIGHT look like that by spring. And i have a bit of a head start on you. Your best bet is to take some sort of pre-workout supplement and do some pull ups push ups in hopes to get a bit of a pump going. Not looking forward to having to cut down after i bulk up this winter Why can't spring break just be right now. That reminds me, i got the weirdest complement ever today. This girl was just like randomly "you have nice veins" and i gave her like an awkward laugh and she's like "oh i'm a poaiwejf (whoever those people are that are certified to draw blood" which made some sort of sense. Still weird.
edit: bowflex commercial just said its more effective than free weights. ANGER

Man...I feel like such failure today.
My adductor is killing me, and had to fall back to 90kg . are you serious.
And Made no improvements in weight in my PC and Press, maybe it's time to reset.

Read up on food a lot, tried to apply some of it to my diet. But in reality I have been eating a ton of bad food the last 8 months It's just the short spurts of a few weeks (or not even that) where I actually do manage to diet that made the difference ^^ The last 1,5 months have been kinda shitty though. I started playing SC2 and noticed myself falling into bad habits where ill just have food next to my pc and eat WAY too much garb food. I still workout a lot I just totally lost my self-discipline where diet's concerned. But im kinda staying the same weight so im fine with it for now. In the beginning I always felt dissapointed and mad at myself for eating shitty food. Took a while for me to just look back and say 'you've come this far, losing nearly 40 kg in total, you can be proud of yourself, stop worrying so much.' Staying same weight while getting stronger = also progress. Some day I will have to lose those last 10 kg though. I figured when I get to korea and live in the TL/ogs house would be a great time for that since ill just be eating meat/veggies and a bit of rice anyway This happened to me when SC2 Beta started. I taped a sign over my computer that said "Eat for nutrition not for boredom."
That actually worked haha.

LOL, you guys and your eating at the computer.
What I do is pretty much keep NOTHING around the computer at all except like nuts. No one really wants to eat a pound of nuts at a time.
It's the potato chips, soda, and candy and stuff where you start to get in trouble but if you never buy that stuff its all good.

On October 13 2010 14:42 RosaParksStoleMySeat wrote: OK, I gotta ask a question here.
Is it just me, or is powerlifting the most ridiculous sport in the world? Obviously power lifters are ridiculously good athletes, but there's something about a guy doing a sumo squat barely at parallel depth and then getting credit for it that bothers me. Anything that involves a whole one foot of motion, regardless of how heavy it is, just seems like a huge waste to me. It's more about how much you can get away with than how much you can actually lift.
On top of that, you have all the gear--the squat uniforms, the bench shirts, the belts, the wraps, and so on. You also have power lifters who necessarily have to have screwed up limb length in order to compete.
Olympic lifting is just a much more appealing sport to me. Taking 230kg and then clean and jerking it--putting it above your fucking head--is just a lot more impressive to me than bench pressing 340 kilograms with a range of 9 inches and a bench shirt that requires 3 people to put on.
Comparing the training schedules of the best olympic lifters vs the "best" powerlifters is quite revealing in determining what sport is more challenging and athletic. Bulgarian olympic lifters in the 80s and 90s were training 3 times per day, going to max every single session, 7 days a week, with 1 lower volume week every month. It's actually kind of rare for world class olympic lifters not to have 2/day training sessions most days. Even though the US gets their asses kicked, their top weightlifters are training multiple times daily, at least 6 days per week. Most powerlifters train 4-5 times per week for a couple of hours. World class oly lifters will consistently outsquat the best powerlifters when dealing with actual below parallel squats.
Powerlifting is mostly how much you can get away with. Some feds like IPF and USAPF are quite strict and you have to legitimately be athletic and do the full lifts to succeed. Most feds, especially geared feds, are a bunch of fat faggots doing sumo quarter squats out of a monolift and benching with ultrawide grips and tremendous arches so their ROM is like 4 inches. There's also like a bazillion different powerlifting federations with different rules and equipment allowances. There's one weightlifting federation which sets the rules, the IWF. Judging the olympic lifts seems to be easier and more straightforward. Every single person who squats ever thinks they're going to parallel, but very few actually are. If you miss a c+j or snatch, it's easy to know.
If there was one unifying fed with no silly gear, very strict rules, and the sport was in the olympics, powerlifting would suddenly become much more credible and more competitive.

So I've had a bad knee for a few years now, that is agravated by exercise like running, jumping, dancing etc. Being at university and having had a busy summer as a camp counselor, i havent had time for any of the hits that bother it, and so have been living trouble free. This is since perhaps may.
Last night, i did a bit of dancing for a flash mob that a group i participate i on campus is running for publicity. Instantly can barely climb stairs. Its terribly unfortunate, but i think this will delay the increase on my squat .
On the positive(/negative) side, i used to own a knee brace that was a little loose, both above and below the knee. I tried to slip it on today to aid me in walking to class, and its actually cutting out my circulation to the lower leg. After only a month and a half of seriously lifting, and three times a week squats, the cut to my calves is amazing, and they're at least a half inch larger around than they were over the summer.
Brb, gonna go get beast mode huge like funkie and decaf. Then gonna get ripped and sexy. Loving how great the gym.makes me feel, and how it makes me look isn't bad either.
Edit: 123 post. Cool.

Ugh, I'm starting to develop a real love/hate relationship with my genetics. You see, if I cut down now--maybe 1-2 months from now--I would look really good. I have a large amount of muscle mass throughout my body. My biceps are 17" (not fatceps), my chest 47", and my waist is currently 34" thanks to this milk/creatine/rice bloat.
I look like I should be moving a lot of weight, but I can't. Guys half my size bench more, squat more, and dead more than me. I just don't understand; I'm big and I'm solid, but I'm as weak as a little girl.

Yesterday I died.
I know I can Squat like a motherfucker, but my adductor is killing me.
In contrast to you, I'm a pretty skinny motherfucker. Even thought I've gained some "weight" it's not a lot, I know I'm just starting, but I just can't wait to get huge and fucking pwn.
And worry not. Just reset a bit, and start lifting again, and hard.
