CAuse I don't know the weight in KG of the bars in my gym
They're something like 40lbs or something, but I'm not entirely sure.
Plus, I don't think people here account for both sides when they say "I squated 300lbs" I think they did 300lbs on each side, which is like 300kg.
Or someone clarify If I'm mistaken.

^Nope I always write total weight. Bar weight is often ~20kg I think? I wish I had your enthusiasm funkie, I have no motivation left
|
Olympic standard bars are always 20kg. Most gyms will have them.
|
20kg or approximately 45 lbs
|
lol, wow.. I'd love to know what goes through funkie's head when Decaf posts his lifts.
Decaf: "managed 380x5 on squats, failed on 405". funkie: "wow.. that guy is lifting 800lb.."
Joking of course! I just think it's cute.
|
so, to sum up:
I just add the weights on each side, then add that weight to the bar weight, and that's why I'm squatting/benchin/doing?
;O
Edit: I want to be the venezuelan Decaf or some shit, it's just insane how much he squats .

Yes.
20kg bar + two 20kg plates (one on eac hside) = 60kg total. In pounds that would be 45 bar + two 45 plates = 135 lbs.
General "benchmarks" are the 20 kg/ 45 lbs plates. So first is 135 lbs, 225 lbs, 315 lbs, 405 lbs, 495 lbs.... or 60kg, 100kg, 140kg, 180kgs, 220kgs.
Novice phase should generall get you up between 100-140kg for squat/DL.... intermediate up between 140-180... and then you really know your pushing weight when you hit the 180kg+ range. Depending on bodyweight of course... and muscle mass and all that jazz

Back was getting progessively worse while not lifting over the last two weeks...so i fucking deadlifted today. DL: 10x225,265,295,315, and 9x345 Havent felt this fucking amazing in weeks. So much tension just left my system. i feel like a new man
Wrist getting steadily better and bench got noticeably easier after just one session, the 60 pounds on my max should come back relatively quickly 10x115, 8x130,145,160,170,185 was much easier on my last set than my last set last week. Then did 4 sets of failure of pullups. Gonna try some light hang cleans with wrist wrap this week too
On a side note, we won our rugby game by like 60 points this week :D (contributed two tries )

My computer broke. Which means no more sc2 or other games :-(
which also means im probably gonna up my training a bit
p.s:
doing german hang for longer than 30s from a bar is REALLY FREAKING HARD

decaf, please never let your wrist recover, because i feel good that i can bench more than (an injured) you, especially when your squat and deadlift crush mine into oblivion. the second you're healed, my ego is out the door, AND I CANT TAKE THAT DAMNIT

Sorry Don't really even need bench that much for rugby, its pretty much only good for stiff arms and adding some weight to my frame. What i really want are hamstrings that could pull a fucking train! I do really wanna start doing cleans/should press again though DAMN YOU WRIST!!!

Hey folks. I stayed up all night waiting for OSL then FELL ASLEEP after game 1. Done exactly the same thing for the MSL So I skipped yesterday's gym due to sleep, and skipped today's too.
I DID however have a job interview and got a job. I dont know how long ill have it for (very possibly less than a week) but it does mean I can buy some proper fucking food at last! FUCK U TUNA FLAKES
My last session was ~4 days ago and my squat was +2.5 but I couldn't raise my bench press. Not gonna let myself feel bad about it, just keep going. I'd rather maintain my shit than drop it all again.
I haven't drank for 3 weeks now
Gym tomorrow should be.

Funkie u can be my idle! I didn't drink for 3 fucking weeks and counting, no fat ass rugby player has me beat!
