Gahhh..... I've really let myself go. I need to stop waking up at noon and eating ramen. I'm gonna go to sleep now. Being awake for 3 hours is enough for one day.

I fucked my life today.

Haven't eated anything in the day, due to last night's dinner being shit, and I spent the morning throwing up and shitting like a dog .

I'm still going to hit the gym and hopefully I'll feel better .

Good luck!

Finished my workout today. Deadlifts are a bit tricky since I don't know them well, still feel uncomfortable doing them. Hope you feel better funkie. I'm sort of having stomach problems too but I take it more with how school food is lower quality and the change in diet and amount I'm eating.

i used to be worried a lot. oh no i'm only benching 75. oh no i just used all back for that curl rep. oh no i can only do 3 chinups.

people only recognize three types of people in the gym
1: the person that lifts insane amounts of weight really well
2: the person that makes a lot of noise and does strange exercises you've never seen before
3: sexy people

2 is more rare than you think. the only person i remember at my gym is some guy who loads a ton of weight for squats, unracks it, then re-racks it. wow! what an exercise! fuck that guy.

the other thing i'd recommend is to get a program. everyone here recommends starting strength. i'm on it, it's good. i know other people that do stronglfits 5x5 and they see a lot of progress too. once i wrap up starting strength, i'm gonna pick up cosgrove's New Rules of Lifting and do the program in there. you're not good enough to customize your own routine so don't bother.

as for drinking, as long as it's not habitual and you don't do it ALL the time it's okay.
i reserve my drinking for special occasions.

Probably slipped a facet joint or popped a rib out of place. See a chiro or physical therapist

I finally got myself to the gym, an hour before it closed. I have been living on biscuits and chips for months and become breathless just walking to the front door, so I'm relieved I'm finally feeling enough out of my depression to get back there. Before I die.

I done 3x5 at 40kg on the bench (I do warm ups), then a few weightless squats which I stopped almost immediately when my leg gave a slightly painful but chronic spasm (possibly cramp).

I had a short go on the chin-up bar. As the gym was closing I picked up the 15kg dumbells and put them straight back again. Looks like I'm back down to the 12.5kg ones

I paid 6 for gym entry for the week, which is 24 a month, or I can pay 45 three-monthly. Compared to a gym where I used to live, which was 77/month (what....?), and compared to my college gym which was 3/session, this is very pleasing

There is no mat area at the gym, so I'm guessing I use the dip bar or something similar to do ab-work by raising my legs.

Tonight I am slowly (over many hours) eating 560g tuna flakes, which are DISGUSTING but I have mixed them with 100g? mayonaise. This alone is 120g protein. With 2 litres milk it comes to...idk but it should be more than ample. The BB.com calculator says you need an inhuman amount of protein but I will read up on that unless someone can quick-answer me.

The only problem with tuna-mayonaise is it contains no fat or carbs so I have a bit of white bread with it, although it does makes the taste worse (Obviously I need to work out my calory intake anyway so will deal with this)

I did weigh myself at home at 73kg but the scale was on a carpet which means extreme inaccuracy. I was over 80kg a very very short time ago. Maybe this is for the best.

Over all I am relieved I returned to the gym at last, but have a nagging worry that at any time I might get depressed or drink alcohol (I'm an alcoholic) and screw myself up again. Such is life

Don't underestimate how important rest is for your workout. You should feel positive when you have an extra day of rest. In the future having an extra day of rest here and there will become the most beneficial thing you can do! *trying to cheer you up*

i had/have the same problem

i think the problem was that i was leaning back too much during the press. also you should bend your knees a little bit during the press

it'll probably go away after time
if not see a doctor


i know this probably isn't relevant to the situation, but make sure that you're always flexing your core during standing lifts, it'll make a huge difference with regards to your form

how serious is this type of injury and how long is the typical recover period?

dammit i had to get injured doing my favorite exercise. probably won't be able to bench either so i can't do lower body exercises and now i can't do upper body...wtf am i gonna do now?? i know, i'll just do teh bicept curls...

Haven't ran in a few weeks. Ran a mile to schools rec center and was fucking tired as hell. Took a break then played basketball for a good while, now I'm physically exhausted but not tired enough to go to sleep >.<.

I was thinking the same thing and then I checked my fridge, I have 97% fat free mayo in there. It does have about 5grams of carbs for every 20ml though.

Also Tuna contains a lot of mono-unsaturated fat.
