squatted for the first time in a week and a half, dropped the weight back a few pounds, everything felt fine, YAY NO MORE HIP FLEXOR SHIT
other than that workout was shitty T_T I can feel my press starting to plateau and I didn't finish any of my power clean sets. mostly because my form is fucking garbage, using my arms too much instead of dropping under the bar but its FUCKING HARD after a sick squat workout

it happens during the negative part of the exercise. from lockout the bar rarely travels down to my chest in a vertical line. i just can't seem to keep my elbows in place...help?
Vid would be helpful.
You are droppping the elbows at about 45 degrees to the shoulder, yes?
This man is a beast. He's been able to avoid injury time and time again despite using attrocious form on every excercise known to man. Courtesy to Max Diesel Weasel.
P.S. At 0:19 in the video: ''I think someone yells "pull" and I expected to see someone trap shoot one of his discs when it flies out' (Merkabastar)
This video has it all. After sniffing what assumably is some coke to suppress the pain in his spine during the excercise, he starts pulling the bar like superman and goes into an epileptic fit, jerking and convulsing all over the place. While this is happening he grunts like a lion and hitches the bar up his thighs while his back is bowed like a steel bar bent by a world class strongman.
P.S.: Notice the guy in the background scratching his head when Diesel Weasel starts lifting.
I noticed that my form wasn't good enough when doing squats, I don't use the hip drive enough. So I went from 90 kg down to 80 and focused more on my form. But I finally hit 100 kg today on my deadlift!
Haha that diesel weasel kid is retarded he's gonna fucking die.
Maxed out deadlift today and got up 485. Really wanted to go for five plates but don't think I'm quite there yet. Happy I added another 30 pounds to my deadlift again for 60 this summer and 40 on my squats.

nice numbers!
My hand is almost healed, so i started doing presses this week. I tried bench for the first time since january. I struggled at 155lbs LOL. I need to get my strength back.
Had a pretty weak start today. The first 3 sets of my squat I was struggling on every rep, it somehow got better on the 4th, psyched myself up on the last set, just stared into the mirror, took a couple of deep breaths and a massive grunt exhale on the rack up, it felt like I was just squatting an empty bar.

It's amazing what your mind can do!
Haha yeah sometimes 315 feels like it will staple me to the ground and then i get in the fucking zone and do the same set at 405 like i'm wearing a jet pack.
I've also noticed I would be trying to push up say the 4th rep, and it would be a borderline failure rep. I'd be pushing to the top thinking, "rack it, rack it". Get to the top, before my brain gets a chance to register the thoughts i'm going down for the last rep.... "oh god no, please don't let me die".
Like my body instinctively knows it can do 1 more rep.
anyone here a track and field or cross country runner? i despise both of them, but they are the only sports im good at. if any of you are runners have you gotten shin splints and if so whats the best way to treat them? nothing seems to work completely for me

I never saw the appeal of running for the sake of running lol. I prefer to do my sprinting while i'm on the field and someone is trying to tackle me. My shins were pretty awful at the beginning of the summer but i stopped running for a while and then eased on my way into it on a rubber track with good form and then gradually increasing the quantity/distance. shins feel waaay better now.

what events do you do? I use to run hurdles in high school.
Stupid fucking rotatory cuff, the left one is playing up again. Failed miserably on OP today, didn't even bother deloading. Just went onto dead lifts. I'll give it a week to heal.
So, I'm starting SS soon and I am debating whether or not to get a gym membership or just get the bench/squat rack and olympic barbell set. What kind of price should I be looking for in terms of each of those items / sets in general? Or, should I just bite the bullet and go to a gym?

If you're planning on using your own set for more than 2-3 years it's worth it to buy your own plus your own squat rack
