If you're not Oly lifting I would suggest lifting with with minimalist shoes or barefoot. You'll develop much better mobility, and it's better for your overall joint health.

Stupid question maybe but can you get mood swings from starting to work out? I started to have some serious mood swings like a week ago and I can get really pissed off for nothing and it's quite annoying :/

Thanks for the tip .I read quite a bit today about SS, and I like it a lot, I might do just exactly what it says and see how it goes for me .

Poor mental health is often times an indicator of poor physical health. Are you giving yourself enough recovery time between workouts? Are you eating enough to support your new lifestyle? You could have overtraining syndrome (OTS), which has been known to give people mood swings. I had a really bad case of OTS a couple of months ago, and I almost broke some guy's arms for looking at my girlfriend.

I don't eat junk food any more and I eat more vegetables and fruits now but that's about it when it comes to food, so no major changes. I work out monday, wednesday and friday so there should be enough recovery time right? However I'm not sleeping well, about 4-5 hours/day, maybe that's what causing my mood swings? Can't really think of anything else... Sleep is a huge factor, I also don't sleep nearly enough and I can guarantee it's responsible for my emotions going haywire at times, which causes me to stay up later and thus repeats the cycle. A good squat workout yesterday fixed that though, did 5x10 at 225, 245,270,300,325. Had to push through pretty hard mentally on the last half of the last two sets, god damn was that tiring. Can barely walk today lol. quads/hams/glutes are all shot, is it possible that i use my posterior chain more than my quads on squats? My hams always seem pretty sore the next day. Now to go attempt to run around for 2 hours of conditioning and hitting people T_T Back is bugging me still Gonna talk to a chiropractor that i play rugby with at practice today

If your arms are hurting a bit, it can be a rather small inflamation, you can go to the sink and flow as cold water you can over it for about a minute, then switch to as hot you can take for about 40sec. It helps a lot, and I do this after gym in the shower with my whole body, rotating between cold and hot a few times, and to be frank, the feeling is as good as sex when I am done in the shower. You should also consider that there are food that can cause irritation in your muscles as well, this method will not eliminate it if you keep harrasing your body left and right with inproper exercise, rest or food.

"there's no way i can do this! you have no idea! i just drank all weekend." "no. fuck you. you're doing 160. you can do this shit." after the first set "there's no way i'm doing 3 sets of 5 reps of that." after the last set "see. i told you can do it. easy." BELIEVE!
