This debate has been done over and over again, but maybe you could consider the fact that people take time to play dota2, not actually watch a paused screen for 10 min. The most annoying thing is that you can't even do anything during this time as the game could start without you.
As long as their is a mnimum of communication i'll wait up to 5min, but after that I feel that 5 min of pause + 5 min to get the abandon is more than enough .

I agree, this is why I used "immediately unpausing" and "unpausing". I can understand someone who just wanted to play a quick game of Dota and then faces a paused screen, waits a bit and unpauses because he is tired of waiting after, say 2 minutes. Two minutes isn't much, but it's often times more than sufficient for someone who just had to fix something real life related real quick. I don't have problems with them, what I have problems with is the people who as soon as the game is paused, unpause and repeadtedly do so even when all other players want to wait. It's retarded.

Just had the dumbest game ever. 88 minutes of my life cause our PL decided to be a twat. We still won though but c'mon, we had easily won 40 mins earlier if he didn't refuse to go with the team just because he was mad at me for defending a tower instead of following him to his death. We had megacreeps fairly early, but PL decided it would be fun to give 2 rapiers to their Kunkka, so it got kinda hard to push any further. He basically did nothing but afk farm and donate those rapiers for the last 65 minutes of the game. I just don't understand some people, wasting an hour of his own life only to piss someone else off.

Im trying that too, but its impossible.. This has been at least the 15th time (no exaggeration) I've uninstalled this game.. and I already felt like reinstalling it again after an hour of watching TC's stream.. Im just praying I make it thru this weekend, I need to be productive in other areas of life.
It just blows how its such a great fun game, but the community and horrible matchmaking from valve ruins it. Its like having a model-looking GF but only able to video sext for your entire relationship.

Oh God I have to write this now or I'll lose my sanity forever. 94 minutes of pure mediocrity which I could never have conceived.
Solo queue AP in High/VH. We have Morph, Io, Tinker, Bane, Rylai (I). Morph, Io and Bane decide to run an offensive trilane I don't see the point of, leaving me alone in safelane vs Invoker + clockwerk. I do my best while also supporting and manage to get a score of 3/3. Then laning phase ends and thanks to my level advantage and warding I manage to win us a lot of fights and reap plenty of kills, getting meka and blink dagger. This is when horror strikes, and I discover my teammates are to put it bluntly the worst possible dota players in the world. I even think I'm going to check my room for cameras because this has to be staged somehow. Let me introduce the dream team that could crush TI4 if they simply stuck to playing together.
Morphling : even though he's our only carry, goes for linken first, which he completes 40 minutes in, despite having a lot of room to farm. 60 minutes in he's sitting on linken + ghost scepter. Likes to 1vx the enemy team and feed, also tried to kill them at their fountain twice in the game by himself, of course to no avail. The first time their base was intact, the second time their midracks were down and he should have been focusing on destroying buildings further.
Bane : not only playing his first ever hour of dota seemingly, but also unable to listen to any advice. Has no idea how to play his hero, and does not even realise he's a support. Goes for brown boots+broadword. Then sells the broadsword. Then I don't remember. Then sells that and buys two basilius (I'm fairly sure they don't stack, correct me if I'm wrong). Then sells them and gets reasonable items. Awful positioning, most of the time was in front when we engaged a teamfight, sometimes wandering alone on the map. Was usually out of mana in every fight, when he had mana he didn't use his spells and when he did use his ultimate it was on manta illusions. Ends up 2/27/8 (notice the assists : I ended 28/17/40)
Tinker : goes for arcane+dagon. I said arcane ? I meant arcane. Actually decent compared to the rest if we overlook that issue, we got lots of kills together in midgame and he got beyond twice. Still, never made BOTs even in lategame when splitpushing would have been paramount and defence was highly needed.
Io : not one single Relocate gank in the game I believe. He did relocate, but never with tether. Stopped using relocate entirely after midgame even though he could have splitpushed with morph, except sometimes to defend (again, no tether). Went for mekansm first even though I already have one and announced it in the chat.
I had to do all the supporting except the courier upgrade. Apparently wards are dirty and carrying them is impure, even if I bought some in the courier and asked someone to place them because my inventory was full and theirs not, they did not react. What else could I say ? Ah yes, when I dismantled my tranquils tinker picked up the regen ring and kept it almost until the end of the game, because filling one's inventory slots with whatever item is not even yours is a holy duty. Also once I put my boots on the courier to get wards instead, the courier came back to the base empty. I guess PTs just disappear like that.
I won't even bore you recanting the rest. We were ahead most of the game but my team insisted on pushing uphill even though it clearly would cut no ice and then stood still before their base trying for , and without even taking all outer towers. I tried to explain to Morph that he should farm as much as possible lest we lose inevitably, but he opted for vainly trying to push and to kill heroes rather. They kept engaging 4v5 or 3v5 when I had to TP back because humongous creepwaves were threatening our towers. I somewhat managed to hold the team together for a long time, being the game lead in kills and deaths and assists, getting scythe, aghanim and bkb but Rylai can only do so much and even if Morph started to somewhat take over, we ended up overwhelmed by their superior lategame potential (gyro, invoker, OD, SB, clock).
Part of me wants to cool my head playing with bots instead but then I'm afraid I could discover they're already smarter than humans.
On the bright side of things, there was hardly any flaming and I discovered that it's possible in dota to carry/support/gank/counter splitpushing/lead your team through the chat all at the same time. Also, I'm starting to find Rylai is the best designed hero in the game, she's so much fun.
On a side note : does anyone experience much higher lag than usual when playing QoP ? I'm starting to think there's a bug somewhere, but maybe it's just the hero being more lag-sensitive. ( I also tend to find my teammates always suck when playing her and that's clearly not the game at fault).

I really don't understand impatient people who play dota. Dota is, by definition, a game requiring patience. For goodness' sakes, if you die at a high level you can end up spending whole minutes on the sideline. If you can't wait a couple of extra minutes at the start, you might want to reconsider your preferred genre. I play dota because it's fun. In game moments requiring patience and passivity are part of the game. Waiting for people's random shit isn't fun, and that sort of patience isn't part of the game. Yeah, waiting around for a minute or two so someone can take care of something unexpected is just part of real life. I bet you also let the elevator door close when people are running and asking you to hold it, because they shouldn't feel so self important to make you and the 4 other people in the elevator. Or you just stand there people say excuse me, because why should you have to move over when they can just figure out their way around you. Or at dinner when someone asks you to pass the rolls and you say "No, I am eating, get them yourself."

Been queuing CM with friend as of the past week, 90+% winrate. We do alch+nyx+rubick aggressive tri and work miracles (he usually goes OD mid and I run nyx) the stack drafts

I felt like playing rubick for a change, and as someone with a 28-4 winrate as trilane support nyx, I think it's safe to say that this guy was playing with one hand wearing a cast.

Proceeds to do this and whiff 3 free kills while hoarding for a naked energy booster. No wards, no upgrade, just sapping exp. After the second flop he DCs and comes back saying that it was his girlfriend playing.
Yeah you've got 3 pages of games played, 70-something wins, but I'm sure you not only have a girlfriend to blame but are also not this bad at a task so damn simple. Cue making his "girlfriend's" mistake 2 more times.
Meanwhile DK is barely holding on against non-stop harass while puck faffs about in mid. When he does gank, he comes bot to fight AA and Naga. He pings me over to the trees above tower.

After waiting about 10 seconds, I go to type asking about why he won't initiate (mic had come unplugged). Before I finish he comes on mic shouting "RUBICK FUCKING LIFT ooooohhhhhmygooooooodddd". He then explained that he wasn't going to initiate and that I was supposed to walk through trees into fog into towerdiving both of them so I could lift one person making it "safe" for a PUCK to do anything.
Later we take a (losing) fight in jungle and I wait for naga to show up before lifting one of them and queuing to drop on her. Sure enough, she drops the bass, I drop the AA, steal her song and bail everyone else out. And by "bail everyone else out", I mean channeling a 5 man disable while my half-dead 3 stack stands around watching and then dies.
And the worst part was every time we said something, their mid (who would have guessed he had the biggest ego) would start talking down to both of us and make some snarky comment every time something bad happened while turning a blind eye to everything his buttbuddies screwed up. Was constantly going into allchat to defend his stackbuddies and flaming in general.
I need more reports.
