I have always taken good manner very seriously in gaming. A lot of assholes being assholes have made it so random people being a dick to you is something you're meant to accept when you're just trying to play some games but I don't accept it. I expect better, this is meant to be a game we play for fun.

Yes. By bringing up the score screen, you can click on the icon depicted as a speaker and mute them. This will mute both voice and text chat. I think it also mutes chat wheel, but it does not mute pinging last I checked.
I completely agree with you. I still think the dota community (TL excluded..for the most part) is made up of gigantic assholes and teenagers with no self restraint because of internet anonymity. But I don't think ruining the game by switching to singleplayer while the match is running is the answer to it  You're just depriving the fun from yourself and the remaining players who haven't been assholes to you.

Mute people by opening up the scoreboard and clicking the little volume control symbol.
I agree with you but practically speaking its entirely up to valve to create incentives for people to avoid douchy behavior.

I'm so fucking tired of playing against warlock. This hero is so broken in pubs it's not even funny. Ult and fatal bond means that you'll win every teamfight, the only way to win against him is to split push and never fight but that's impossible to do in pubs.
And he is not even interesting to play in the slighest, so I don't even enjoy winning games with him.
Seriously, any idea on how to "counter" him in pubs? I just hate everything about this hero.

Kill him first. Any ganker capable of jumping past the enemy lines will do. Storm Spirit, Nyx, Slark, Barathrum.
I don't think he's very broken tbh. There are a ton of heroes that have similar fight turning abilities. Enigma, Tidehunter, Magnus, Dark Seer, Naga, etc. They all have to be stopped the same way: Don't let them get off their ulties perfectly.

Get some1 to buy a diffusal blade. A single diffusal charge instantly kills a golem. Or pick rubick to steal Warlocks ulti.

It's not passive aggressive. I flat out tell them I won't work with people who insult strangers online over a game but if they'd like to be more polite then we can all play together. Nothing passive or aggressive about any part of it.

So I picked Bane!
Game was good, we raped them. Apparently the game is much easier when you have heroes that work solidly on their positions(AM 1, Tiny 2, Invoker 3, KotL 4, Bane 5) instead of some sort of clusterfuck that pubs usually consist of.
Well, end game naix goes and says "yeah my team sucks" and bla bla bla
Naix: "I'll commend AM, Tiny and invoker. Well played"
I shed a tear as the truth is put into the table. The positions 4 and 5, despite being crucial for the team's victory(several team fights won because I would nightmare their batrider or Fiend's Grip their lifestealer) were simply ignored.

But you're essentially taking yourself out of the game and making it so it's not just 1/5 not working with the team, but 2/5 not working with the team. I don't see how this contributes to a good experience for anyone...you're like one of those stubborn guys who has to have everything go their way or they afk in the fountain.
EDIT: And besides that, if it hasn't worked in your experience, why would you keep doing this?

shadow demons ult is really good against him, just purging the golem out of the fight is pretty good.

I think of Warlock as Charles Barkley and I like to think of his ult as a "dunk"

I actually like Kwark's approach, jungling is at least somewhat productive unlike afking in fountain. Sure it sucks for the other three guys, but if someone is going to be an ass but their ego is too huge to prevent them from apologising as far as I am concerned it is their fault. The negativity that some people spew out in games can really ruin it for me, moreso than someone who is not playing well.
What I would like to know KwarK is since they have never apologised, if you just jungle til the game ends, or if you bust out when you have significant items and if you have you ever managed to win a game doing this?

Played as PA with an enigma, Bristle, Windrunner and Slardar. We all lose our lanes horribly (apparently it's NOT good to leave PA alone against a lion and SK... sigh) and decide we need to play five man dota. When we get to teamfight, I was surprised to learn that we had no mek, no blink dagger, no arcane boots, nothing. In all fairness, our Windrunner was busy building a butterfly, our enigma needed a radiance, and come on, Bristleback NEEDED that Battlefury. so after losing a bunch of teamfights, they take both middle towers and the tier ones. Enigma had a moment of brilliance and pushed top with Slardar, who did manage to get the tier two top. We get in a big teamfight again by our tier two top, and we trade PA (me) and Bristle for a venomancer before their team backs up.
Then windrunner tells everyone alive to Rosh. I tell Wind that this is stupid because we're underleved, we have no map vision because aforementioned "core" support items, and going Rosh would leave our mid rax open. They ignore me and run to the pit. Surprise surprise, after losing the tier 3 and mid rax, the other team catches on and runs to the rosh pit. They get the last hit on Rosh, Lion catches everyone with earth Strike, all 3 of them die and they get the Aegis.
After that it was just cruel. Have you ever been teamwiped in your well? Happened to me
