ya...do it. you need to spreaad the word. so people will stop making retarded posts about "how bad this MM" is and how stupid valve is. people need to realize that retards are everywhere in every skill pool and that you cant create a MM system where you wont get matched with braindead idiots....even the pros with the highest ratings sometimes get braindead zombies. but not because the MM system is flawed (i dont say its perfect though). its because humans suck.... | ||

Since the introduction of the match rating system I gave a couple of 2 stars, less than five 3 stars and i believe one or two 4 stars, rest was all 1 star. I came to ask myself "wtf am I doing with my time?" more and more frequently. Every week I was pumped for the patch to come out, I follow the competetive scene and (less so) the cosmetics "scene". I can not wait for TI3, but I just was not having fun with this game anymore, or at least the moments of frustration outweighed the fun by far, and seeing as I don't play to become competetive or anything I should use my free time for something where I don't ruin my mood. Yesterday I lost a match while soloqueueing (I usually play with at least one friend) to an enemy team who picked a nice lineup without tryharding too much, my team did it's best to hold against it and we got a couple of nice fights, but we still lost by a considerable margin. Since everybody communicated nicely I had fun, and I laughed at how much fun even losing can make und the right conditions. Very, very few matches are like that one tho, and even most wins (somehow I managed to still have a positive w/l ratio after >900 games) leave just a bitter taste in my mouth. I'll probably be back, I know... but let's see if I actually miss this love-hate relationship of a fucking game. | ||

Random DP and go mid vs Nyx. I don't do extremely well mid, but I'm not doing bad either. He returns around half of my nukes, and the rest I get through by faking a lot. We go about equal into the midgame (both in lvl and farm). I go gank a bit, and he goes gank. Then starts the teamfights. Oh my fucking god how desperately fun it is to play against nyx with DP ulti. He goes out of control by simply sitting in the middle of the teamfight and press a button. On our team is a kunkka who never ONCE hit with his boat or torrent. He has a lone battlefury 30 min into the game..and then NEARLY another one at 45 min when we lose the game. And then what happens? Nyx starts mouthing ME off! Apparantly I lost the whole game by going equal with him into the midgame. By not utterly dominating my lane, in his mind I lost us the game..and he still thinks Nyx is completely not broken in the least? Seriously, if I wanted to win 9/10 of my games I'd just constantly pick Nyx. But Im really tired of seeing him and PA in every fucking game I go into. | ||

Just because nyx owns in pub games dosent mean hes OP. It is very easy to deal with him if your team works well together and buys sentries. If you nerf him, he wouldnt even be used in competitive games anymore. | ||

The entire design of the hero is to prevent you from interacting with him. He is built to burst down heroes and kill them before the initial stun has warn off, and if the target lives, or there are other heores around, the carapace forces you to not interact. Why would you make a hero that is designed to not allow players to play the game? Arguably there are other heroes that encourage inaction (naga and silencer ults come to mind). But not only is that not the entire motif those heroes are set up around, but that inaction is used to set up more action. Nyx's inaction is either to end combat instantly (stuns/nukes) or it is to prevent combat form starting in the first place (carapace/invis). I don't care if nyx is imba or not, and I'm not explicitly saying he is. The numbers associated with the abilities isn't the problem, but rather the nature of the spells instead. | ||
