Same here, I'm a smidge below 3k now, I'd suggest trying to pick more impactful/roaming supports to have a better crack at raising your solo MMR (e.g. Venge, Lina, Abaddon, etc) although in your tier the carries could be a real crapshoot. Even in mine they can be hit or miss. But that's what I've been told, so far it's worked.

Mirana and Naga are good choices too.
They can be laned literally anywhere (except solo off Naga), they have big "save your team" ultimates, and you have the potential to catch up and quietly transition into a core given some space and time.
Basically they can do everything, so if you often feel like you have to play the "everything role", give it a try.

Agree with the Abaddon, Mirana, Naga suggestions above.
Abaddon in particular is frequently played in "the average pub game" as a carry anyway because few people know how to handle him properly and he's a real pain to deal with in uncoordinated pub play. And he's a very viable support.

I've decided I hate Legion Commander. If she doesn't snowball she's useless late game, and most people in pubs are too stupid to snowball on her. Have fun getting pick offs with your treads-armlet, morons

3 games, 3 3-stack. all of which proceeded to pick a mid, carry and offlane and thoroughly feed all lanes. i'd like to see someone carry these sort of stacks.

What's the point of having MMR if Valve matches me with a dude who has 3.3k MMR only because he is queueing together with his 4.5k friend ?

When 2 stacking, my personal rule to "have control of the outcome of the game ( this applies to winning the game or losing it away ) is to either obtain two cores ( 2 out of mid/offlane/carry ) or obtain the safelane with 1 carry 1 support. I like it run this system so that even if I lose the game, I know its cause my stack fucked up and not cause some guy went shadow demon mid.

I hate people who random in ranked games. We are at 2500 MMR. Your game and hero knowledge sucks shit. Play heroes that you know and stop dragging everyone down because you randomed lone druid and have never played him before.
My actual qq: pick meepo. Ready to show the world what I can do. Enemy teams picks disruptor, warlock, and enigma. Lol nevermind. I'll just farm 3 hearts, get level 25, and die to level 17s. Lesson learned on that one.

having a fun game when all of a sudden the enemy support starts to feed and feed couriers :| when asked why, "to teach my team a lesson"

Interestingly, since there are essentially only 100 heroes in dota (107 or something), your statistic indicates that SD loses to exactly one hero.

I random in AP all the time... I just do it at the very start of the game. If you do it within 5 seconds of the game starting I don't mind when people random

14 winstreak lost because of a fucking retarded team. I thought players were supposed to get better with higher MMR but appearently 5 carries still happens and no one knows how to deal with a shadow blade slark.
And they blamed me for it. The roaming support Nightstalker (yeah)
fucking ingrates I swear. I feel a loss streak coming.
The thing is, in a lot of those 14 games I thought we would definitely lose. And then this game came and despite having a clearly superior lategame, and having crushed the early game, we just got raped by the Slark. Bloodcyka had Midas+Radiance 21 minutes in, Tinker had soulring/bottle/bots/blink at 17 minutes, Morph had linkens at 23 minutes, Mirana had diffusal at 20 minutes...why did we lose to a slark
next game, my trilane loses to a solo slardar with a quelling blade, no stout shield. My safelane farm QoP has 4-1-4-2, Dagon 1, no boots by 15 minutes. Yep, this is a losing streak now.
|
Pick Invoker, win game. Some1 else picks Invoker, lose game. MAKES SENSE since my invoker is goddamn awful compared to other heroes. And no, its not just one game or two games.
|
I've been APing with Gyrocopter a lot, usually picking Gyro first or second.
My laning preference as Gyro is Safe lane farmer > Offlane dual farmer > Solo Mid > Solo offlane > Support.
What I actually end up playing is roughly 60% support, 30% mid, 10% side lane farmer (0% solo offlane). Because the team reliably either picks 5 carries, doesn't pick a mid, or whoever shows up to the same lane as I do wants all the last hits.
