The good thing about the trade chat channel is everything more recent than on forums in general (ever had times where someone had something, you try to trade them, then they already traded it? Not a problem in the dota chat channel... surprisingly people there aren't bots, I think). Edit - But is trying to browse channels laggy >.<. Hopefully they add in pages in the future (rather than loading over hundreds of channels at once in the list or something >.>). Anyone know what limited edition items are there? Is Dragonclaw Hook and things like that limited edition? Also what about the items gained through t-shirts? Edit - Another good thing about the trade chat channel in Dota is that some people don't know the prices of items (at least on forums). If you see a good deal on the forums, it gets bought out instantly. However in trade channel, it's a bit more possible to spot better deals since the chat channel is really flooded with trade offers and some people may not notice or look for them (so if you take the time and look through what people type, you can spot a good deal). Edit 2 - I see people buying 25~ commons for 1 key on the playdota forums. I assume they're doing it to delete items to get a better item. So people want commons just to delete them for a chance at getting a rarer items? Wouldn't it be easier just to keep the keys and trade for the items you want? | ||

It seems chance from reading that thread is about 5-10% per item deleted. (I wonder if I dig up anymore thorough tests.) Not sure on the exact chance but I wouldn't risk it IMO (I think it'd be easier just to save items and trade for what you want). Of course unless I'm missing something else about the system or why people want so many commons (or would be willing to buy commons for keys because 1 key can buy you almost any non-limited droppable rare). Edit - If you click right click an item (common, uncommon, and rare) and click delete, it will give you a message telling you that you have a small chance of getting an item before you confirm the deletion (for chests and I assume mythicals and legendaries, it won't display that message since you don't get anything). | ||

Some people buy chests for commons. Some buy 30 commons and sell 20 hehe. | ||

 . Hmm, I see.Speaking of trading, is there not an easy way to get your Steam account back like with Blizzard games? Seems like a lot of people are trading whole steam accounts. I guess if it only has some F2P games or something, there's no way to track who it belongs to. But can you get your account back with ID + some credit card info used in purchase of the game? Not that I'm thinking of scamming anyone or anything (I am always concerned with keeping my accounts safe... now when is gmail going to add some super full proof way of getting my stuff back if it ever gets hijacked >.>). (I wouldn't mind some premium gmail with no ads and custom service for a monthly fee for example.) | ||
