I got one too, one of these ones https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N408SAERO-OC-16GD#kf Pretty fast sell out. reviews are showing it's barely better than the 4080 but the price cut is really nice. It is slightly deceptive because normal reviews are done at the default power limit, which is 320w, and that limits the Super a bit more than the regular 4080 - even the founder's card can do 355w, but it's not configured that way out of the box. Broadly speaking, with many but not all resources improved by ~5.2% and some by 0-3%, it's not really gonna be more than 3% faster overall. Price cut is the big thing. DLSS and Gsync also have huge advantages over the radeon counterparts and Reflex (a pretty huge technology) has only been done by Nvidia. DLSS (including optional framegen) is in Stormgate. Reflex should be, if it's not already. Gsync is game agnostic, and has historically been most impactful in games like SC2 which can have CPU-bound, unstable frametimes. With the current state of software i'm beyond even considering anything else unless prices were to get way more aggressive than Radeon have shown they're willing to go. yeah i feel so much more comfortable with nvidia. better features are nice only if you use them and it looks like i will in fact benefit a lot from the features that nvidia has over amd. when i get this wooting 80he or similar and also get an oled monitor, oh boy gaming is gonna be feeling real nice. i hope stormgate is able to work some magic and yield some pretty high frame rates for an RTS, but we'll see what they can manage. even if frames don't end up mega high, their responsiveness tech should be a step ahead of anything else and will feel nice. | ||

![[image loading]](https://i.imgur.com/kosazqL.png) Installed, chonk detected Peak 340w at stock on timespy (this test would hit the 450w cap on my 3080) and running with ~80 percent of the temperature delta Big memory OC headroom, dialling in a number and then i'l check perf difference. Just took me 10 mins to find an error at 26.5gbit which would be like +2050mhz on a 4080 for reference (the MSI afterburner slider only goes to +2000  )edit: Mem OC looks like around +14% freq, only 2% performance on regular timespy, probably 3-4% on some other tests. Core is in the 3000's Core seems to be running okay at 3030mhz sustained right now which is a bit of room to step down and still keep the round 3000. Very happy with this card! ![[image loading]](https://i.imgur.com/2r1iHhi.png) Now to actually test DLSS3 framegen and stuff Framegen is pretty good, massively prefer it on for both W3 and Cyberpunk. Going like 110 > 190fps on W3 with everything yeeted (DLSS-Q + Framegen) and that's awesome. Latency doesn't go from good to excellent, but it's still good and very well playable while a lot of the visual problems from a lower framerate (such as blurring and stroboscopic effects on fast pans) don't happen nearly as much and the CPU is doing half as much work per frame. That gets the double thumbs up with a few asterisks from me. | ||

GPU's are so big now you are right :D it surprised me with its size. Also it lights up >:| I did not know it had lights "GEFORCE RTX" on the side in white and some very subtle diagonal lines on the top. It's all good though, doesn't bother me that much. USB-C on front panel isn't working so I'm requesting a replacement part from Fractal. Other than that, I need to begin work on converting my old PC into a media server. But the gaming PC is a huge success! edit: I'd like to add my own little adjacent protip to this thread: the apple usb-c to 3.5mm dongle is an insanely cost-effective route to improved audio. it gets you a clean signal (the signal is digital all the way to the dongle, so there's no interference happening to the audio signal on the way out of the case) and the DAC in it is quite competent in an audiophile sense, definitely superior to a lot of on-board audio DACs. for example the editors at headphones.com will use the apple dongle as the DAC when reviewing headphones / earphones. people spending $50-$200+ on an external DAC with features they don't need when they could just get this $8 dongle. that and IEM's have improved massively in the last 1-2 years as far as price/performance ratio, and IEM's don't need an amp like some headphones do. if you go here: https://crinacle.com/rankings/iems/ and scroll through looking for 3 stars in the value column and keep scrolling down looking at the price column until you find some sub-$100, there are several 3 stars at $20-$80. apple dongle into USB-C + those IEM's = insane audio improvement for most people for very cheap (as long as you're okay with IEM's. some just prefer headphones) | ||

Technically i think we're not allowed to talk about performance outside of private chats, didn't get the NDA yet tho so IDK Also it lights up >:| You can probably turn that off with some software I got some Sennheiser HD660s myself with an external DAC+Amp and basically this EQ - https://www.dropbox.com/s/urdqgg0h4lbcs8w/Sennheiser HD660S (linear subbass).pdf?dl=0 - excellent tier sound but a lot more expensive than your post which is probably great :D (They did need a lot of power to EQ the bass in) | ||

Minor updates. I'm thinking of grabbing a 4060 as well just for Unreal Engine to stuff in here, so if there's a better mobo I should get to faciliate 2 GPUs, lemme know. Otherwise, I'm fine with what I currently have (fans might get deleted). I was hoping to get the price to under 2k, but it's not deal season, so I think this is my best price. | ||

RGB). The issue is I need nvidia for everything but I'm not paying those stupid fucking prices, so I'm gonna go with AMD and just suffer not having the RTX support for UE. I can make everything else work. Having greater than 8GB is really all I need to make it work. UE works with AMD, just no native ray tracing support. I forgot about the x3D so I'll check that out. And talking about the extra GPUs just means I'll cut that all out. I think the fans for the flow was the better option given the amount of computing I'll be doing. The Torrent doesn't fit my aesethetic :p Thanks Cyro. I'll take a look at parts again and see what I can come up with again. | ||

Regular Zen 5 is coming out around Q3 this year but it'll perform worse than Zen4x3d for gaming overall. Vcache is too much of an uplift, and Zen 5 isn't a major gen - it's still using a process based on N5, and it's still using the same chiplet and interconnect package from Zen 2 with highly limited interconnects and somewhat high latency. It's looking like Zen 6 will make some more fundamental changes there. | ||
