750w PSU single rail, wicked high reviews and it's on sale for $30 after MIR. Any reason not to grab this (other than being a little noisy and not modular)? Given the price I would've assumed it will blow up, but every single review I've found has been a solid 5-star saying it's great. Edit: Just noticed it's not 80+. Does that matter? I get electricity free. | ||

That's an old unit and is rated for maximum power rather than continuous so... quality is questionable. And 1 year warranty, that's a joke right? lol | ||

Some SolidGear are Powmax, which are really really bad. Don't know about that. I'd rather have one of those Corsair CX430 after rebates easily. In general you want to buy the thing with protection circuitry that probably actually works and maybe a design that doesn't necessarily fry things when things go south... all other factors aside. | ||

I think 430 for all but high end single GPU + haswell quad is fine - of them, 280x would be highest power consumption. ~550w for 290/290x/780/whatevergk110 single GPU and haswell, if you're looking to push stuff a bit. | ||
