Hey dude thanks! Worked first try :D

Make sure you go to sources and set it to "game capture." Also make sure under settings you change under "broadcast settings", chnage the mode to "file output only."
|
Okay so I was apparently wrong on that. Although I rectified it and set it to game capture, but now all I get is a pure black screen. This is seriously frustrating :/

why is everyone in hear blessed with fast internet? tt
I am currently sitting on this:
and this is the best I can get.... How much upload is needed for a 720p stream, need to know this because it will be important when I will move to university proabably at the end of the year.

You don't really "need" any upload, there's no threshold where it will work or it wont, but stable ~2.3mbits up is good (for say, 2mbit for stream, some overhead for game, any other online activity like skype, stream audio) and stable ~4.5mbits pretty much perfect
edit: If it wasn't obvious, you can make an ok quality stream with like 0.6-1mbit. These are just better numbers

Not sure how to search within threads, so I will just ask myself:
Is there a SC2 scene switcher for OBS? I know R1CH made one for xsplit, not sure if that one works for all software. Or is there a way to set this up within OBS? I haven't really dived into the program too much.

Out of curiosity, do people usually prefer watching 720p@60fps or 1080p@30fps?
I recently upgraded my internet to 100Mb down/10Mb up, and both are relatively smooth for me to play on.

How do I know if I'm running the 64-bit or 32-bit version (i want to run 64-bit)? There's only one download link on the website. (i assume default is 64-bit?)
Much appreciated

It's completely down to personal preference
One of the two (in xsplit gamesource, increasing FPS hurt a lot more than resolution) will give you better performance, you should benchmark both in a consistent way to see if the difference is big or important, but pick whatever you like the most.
What CPU is this, and overclock details if OC'd?

If you OC CPU by 32% (easy low-mid tier oc of 4.5ghz) then you can have something like that ~32% higher average FPS in CPU bound area's of the game (pretty much anything more intensive than early midgame 1v1 and 40-45% higher minimum FPS, as well as having a ton more encoding power on the CPU, if i could use 3, 4 mbits for streaming i would do 1920x1080, 45fps with an OC like that, though you'd need a suitable motherboard and cooler

When I'm streaming OBS quite often turns itself off. Sometimes this is a 'no limit' crash, and sometimes it's just as if I pressed 'stop' (but didn't). Any ideas why this might be happening?

Hey Dudes, when I'm trying to stream with OBS, it randomly tries reconnecting every 30 seconds. And the stream goes down and online again. Is having the same issues as me? Is there any solution for it? Thanks

Hi there!
I've been having problems with Game Capture, Apparently it would only work until I alt-tab out, and when I tab back in the screen would just show the latest image, but will just show my cursor moving around as well as the game sounds responding normally. So right now I'm just using Window Capture to capture my gameplay, which is fine, but I'm just curious as to why this issue would happen =/
I've updated OBS, am using it in the 32bit variant on an 64bit system (which shouldn't be the cause, I think), reason for it being the SC2 Scene Switcher.
Here's the link to a VOD with the problem http://www.twitch.tv/nminhbang/b/395178153?t=18m38s After the game starts, the stream just shows the loading screen, though the cursor moves as I'm playing normally, and the game sounds behave normally as well.
And here's a VOD after I switched the Game Capture out for the Window Capture http://www.twitch.tv/nminhbang/b/395190274?t=27m09s
So far, I'm not using a capture card, everything is powered by the OBS program. Besides that, my specs are:
Intel 2600k @ 4.4ghz GTX 660 TI 8GB RAM 94450 kb/s Download 75622 kb/s Upload

I guess you have 2 GPU right ? Go in Settings/Video and switch between Video Adapter to test. PS : 0.51b released

Oddly, I don't have two GPU's =/, but it seems that there's something wrong with Game capture after all. ;p Thanks anyways :D

Just wanted to briefly chime in and say this product is masterfully made, and I have been able to successfully stream at high res at 1200p+, very fun to see the stream look as good as if my client was still open. Impressed with the intuitiveness of set up coming from X-Split also. I figured it out within maybe 20 minutes and not really referring to any manuals online (I think one FAQ question solved the one issue I had).
Thanks to whoever made this for delivering such a quality and free product! A+.

So when I use window capture, it only captures the specific window and I can't get it to show anything else when I alt tab, even if I have multiple windows. I was told to use monitor capture, but that just shows a black screen? Does anybody know why?
(Brand new to streaming btw)
Edit: I have .51 beta, and I have no "Software capture" source. Just Window and Monitor.

Can anyone help me with my settings? I have a quad-core 4.0ghz Phenom II x4 365 and 10 upload, but I still can't stream without the game (whether it's dota 2 or something else lagging).
Anyone available to help em get the right settings?
