The windows 7 volume mixer doesn't actually work for anything other than master volume, I cannot lower for example SC2's volume in the mixer. Well, I can, but it doesn't actually reduce game volume.
I have a Xonar DG 5.1 sound card and ATH A700 headphones.
This wouldn't be a problem if Xsplit didn't recognize my pc sound aswell. I have tested different programs, and the ONLY SOUNDS that go to xsplit are Windows Media Player and System Sounds. Xsplit will not detect game sound (Tera, SC2, Civ V), or gom player (which I use to listen to music sometimes).
I can technically use a workaround by setting my sounds to stereo mix and setting my mic as "listen to this device" and xsplit will get all sounds, but I don't want to do this workaround.
The strange thing is, this worked perfectly fine when I first installed the soundcard, but a few days later I got this issue.
Mobo: ASRock Extreme3 Gen3 cpu: 2600k gpu: gtx 680 8gb ram neo eco 520c 128gb m4/500gb barracuda
I have: Reinstalled ASUS Xonar Dg 5.1 drivers Disabled/reenabled sound card Disabled onboard sound Tried different sound card ports aswell as front port Uninstalled onboard sound driver Restarted PC (obviously)
I'm going to re-seat it because.. well, who knows.

Are you using wave as your default audio input? That should pick up everything.
Try reinstalling/updating your drivers. I haven't got any issues with my DG, FMLE/VHSC for that.

I've already tried reinstalling drivers.
Ok, heres an update, I changed my audio output on gom player from Default to Speakers (ASUS Xonar DG) and now gom player sound goes to Xsplit. So, apparently the issue here is that Xsplit isn't taking my "Default location", only my sound card sound, but I hear all of the default location sound aswell as sound card sound. but I don't know how to change the default audio device in games since there is no option for that,m and i Have no other audio output available..

Possibly you have default device and default communication device set up differently in your audio preferences?
But no, what you should be doing is using wave as your default recording device, and run wave as your input to xsplit. Unless you've tried that and it doesn't work?

This doesn't work, it doesn't pic up my mic when I do that, which isn't plugged into the sound card (it's USB).
Another oddity: When I do a windows sound test, xsplit only picks up the first 2 channels (Left and Right) but doesn't detect anything else.
edit: WMP had it's speakers set as "Default" but it was picked up on xsplit, so I'm not sure if the default option has anything to do with the problem.

Even if you use wave+listen to your mic?
IDK. Probably just a driver conflict. This is just one more reason USB headsets are shit.

I'm not using a USB headset, and I've uninstalled my onboard drivers aswell as disabled them in the bios.
I don't want to hear myself while I talk on stream, so although I can do stereo mix + listen to my mic, and pick up all sounds, I don't want to do so. Also, considering you're part of the whole xsplit crew now, any idea why Xsplit 1.0 sucks so bad compared to beta 6? My framreates literally go down to 20fps max with my specs at 600p and "fastest" preset whenever I stream with an input of 2560x1440. Beta 6 works perfect and runs perfectly fine even at "Slower" preset.

Sorry, I'm not in the Xsplit crew. I use VHSC+FMLE. Thus why I sound like I'm halfway guessing. And I meant a driver conflict between the USB device drivers and the Xonar drivers. USB devices have their own drivers that they run through. This is known to occasionally confuse people when they say they "haven't changed anything" recently, when they've actually picked up a new USB device.
You could also try using skype as a workaround if you have two PCs, use skype to talk to another PC with stereo mix?

Well, I don't use Xsplit so I can't comment on that. But when I installed my Xonar DG, I also had some kind of problem with the windows volume mixer. Disabling the built-in soundchip of the motherboard while keeping the sound-card enabled solved my problem. This can be done by going to the device manager of windows. Hopefully it'll help you as well.
