Hello, I have an issue.
I wanted to overclock my CPU, which I have done before, so no need for help there, but I cant seem to acces my bios.
I have an asus p8z68 V lx motherboard, and I have already checked having the latest bios version, and all other software that comes along with my motherboard.
But when I startup my PC, there isn't any option to enter bios, I have already tried to press f9/f10 blindly in hope to enter bios that way.
The only option is shift + f10, where I just enter a bios look-a-like(the normal version, but my motherboard should have the UEFI BIOS mouse controlled etc. that asus have created).
When pressing shift+f10 It's simply a few options, like changing the ammount of time that the startup text is shown.
So basicly, how can I acces my bios?

Try pressing "DEL" or just look into your mannual if there is some strange fxx combination like f11

Was kinda hoping for another solution than just blindpressing until I get it right/don't do.
I will try it soon, if no better solution is suggested

Well, I never told you to blindpress anything. Del is the normal way to access a BIOS, everything else is written in your mainboard's manual!
I cant help you, if you refuse to look into your manual, because I deffi wont search your manual and read it for youO.o

There is a setting in your BIOS, I forgot the name, that disables (USB)keyboards at post. This means that your keyboard is unavailable until your OS is loaded. The only thing you can do is (open up your case and) clear your CMOS. Probably by connecting to pins with a jumper of a screwdriver. Some expensive motherboards have a special button at the back for this. Please read the guide of your mainboard before doing this!

oh no, my keyboard works fine, but no options is displayed at all, for what bind is used to enter the bios. The only bind shown has no relation to BIOS

Has it always been that way, or were you previously able to access the BIOS?

just spam the delete key during bootup.

Usually it displays what key you need to press during the POST splash screen. It is an ASUS board though, so Del should get you in there. If not, just mash your F1-F12 buttons. Sorry, but when the norm doesn't work, you gotta do the Trial and Error routine

I downloaded the manual for your motherboard from the Asus support website. Section 2.2 on page 2-7 says to push Delete. Hope this helps.
Edit: Eisregen beat me and even had a screenshot, well played sir!

Interesting that your manuals show Delete as the default bind for Asus mobos, the ones I've used for the past several years have F2 as the standard BIOS access key.

All previous motherboards I've had aswell has been f9/f10
|
The majority of ASUS, MSI, and Gigabyte boards has used DEL since LGA775. Only Intel and Asrock use F2.
I don't remember a single one of the major manufacturers ever using F9 or F10.

Just saying if someone here doesn't have a new asus motherboard.. the new UEFI BIOS is amazing, makes you realize how bad the old BIOS was
