Definitely noticeable. You're exchanging typing experience for sound reduction. Is it annoying? That's a matter of personal preference. We can all give our own opinions but it really comes down to you. If you need to dampen the sound on your keyboard and don't want to abandon mechanical keyboards, going for o-rings/sound dampeners and quieter switches are your only choices.

So my Rosewill broke today =(. The port in the back for some reason got out of place and now is pushed up into the keyboard so I cannot fix it. Sad sad day.

My question is, I liked the rosewill, but am open to trying a new keyboard. Any suggestions from personal preference that people really enjoy?

I mostly play MMOs these days but do not need any extra specials keys for it.

edit: I guess I should specify more. I would prefer a mechanical keyboard that does not have a cord that you can detach (ie, the usb cord is always attached to the keyboard). I found that how my setup was put very slight pressure on how the cable laid and that may have caused it to eventually mess up the port)

^ Filco all the way!

Well, it depends on other things you may want to consider though, like price range. Iirc the more popular Rosewill does not have any extra fancy features like colorful backlighting and stuff, so I take it as you like a plain and simple kb. Normally I would go for some CM Storm board since they are quite nicely built, but if you really want non-detachable cord, and budget allows, then Filco Majestouch 2. It is manufactured by the same OEM that make Rosewill (not sure if it still true for newer Rosewill kb), but Filco is supposedly better quality and is more expensive. From personal experience I gotta say I love my Filco kb the most out of all the kb I have tried

Where does it ship from. It looks very similar to my Rosewill (albeit most black keyboards do) but all the shipping I see for it indicates it comes from overseas.

I may have missed something of course.

Ship from as in (manufacturer, the company itself or warehouse, or am I reading something wrong)? I don't know about buying in the US but Filco Majestouch 2 should be widely available. Can try to look at NCIX may be?

Is there any affordable mechanical keyboard that is widely used by pro sc players ? I can only afford around 70 $ and I'm set on cherry mx brown switches but is there any keyboard around this price range that is used by pro sc players ?

QFR CM Storm should suit you.

My understanding was that the Qsenn wasn't mechanical but I may be wrong a 30 some odd dollar mech board is kind of unheard of US not AU, sorry about geography.

A lot of players use the CM Quickfire keyboard. It's very cheap compared to competitors and has good build quality. A safe bet, just not that fancy.

CM Quickfire or Rosewill is probably among the cheaper and reliable mech keyboard iirc. There are new brands but the trouble of obtaining them may bump the cost up. I would say it's really worth it to suck up the $10 gap and get a CM Quickfire kb.

Qsenn DT-35 is definitely not mech, it's rubber dome, unless I have been living under a rock, or they release a mech version which I am not aware of. But 99% sure not mech keyboard

The dt-35 isn't some amazing keyboard, it was just cheap and above average for rubber dome keyboards in korea. Paying for something to be shipped from korea when the main thing that was going for it was a low price is generally a bad idea.

I have this one which is kind of near your price range:

http://www.amazon.com/Tt-eSPORTS-Mechanical-International-KB-POI-BRBLUS-CA/dp/B00X5ZA200/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1431626569&sr=8-3&keywords=ttesports poseidon brown

and am really, really happy with it. I also own a das, also with brown switches ($140) and actually prefer the ttesports.

You can get the same one without the 10 key pad for close to your price:

http://www.amazon.com/Tt-eSPORTS-POSEIDON-Illuminated-KB-PZX-KBBLUS-01/dp/B00RQA67YK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1431626569&sr=8-1&keywords=ttesports poseidon brown

I highly recommend, keys have perfect feel for me. For whatever reason, even though both brown keys, the das feel too 'loose' IMO. One word of caution - I have heard that ttesports keyboards have worse durability, no idea if this is true or been tested.

And yes some pros do use it, or have used it in the past, but I believe the name is different - an older name for the same keyboard....I think it was Meka G1? Maybe somebody knows. This might be your best bet for professionally used keyboard near your price range.

Also be aware that pros use of keyboards can be influenced by their sponsor. They may not be using their preferred equipment.

SO I ordered this keyboard after this discussion happened and currently am typing on it. The domes feel a bit gummy but I have to say using the function keys in SC2 for camera hotkeys is pretty slick, the whole thing is arranged in such a fashion that they don't feel super far away. I can see the appeal and for 40$ not a bad deal, even today. Even has Hangul on the version I have so I can show what a Korea Fanboy I am.

Everything feels a bit more local, the only down side I've thusfar found is for the backspace key, it is the size of a normal, letter key to make space for Korean specific characters, in this case the Won symbol. no bigge

$40 is still a pretty huge markup for shipping/tax/whatever

That was it in total for the whole lot, and I over nighted it.

Yea, $40 for a basic rubber dome keyboard is robbery though

/meh, upshot of getting along in my career some, meager amounts of disposable income. It was a curiosity to indulge and I wanted a keyboard for my raspberry pi. win win.

Side note, after going back to a rubber dome, and this is peripheral because my home mech shat out on me and I've had one at home for some time as my mech is at the office, not as awful as I thought. All comes down to preference of course. I wouldn't want your standard Dell board, but there are several viable options I would say that Rubber Dome is a satisfactory replacement.

They are in low supply, if not discontinued these days. I have 2 Leopold FC7x0r keyboards and wouldn't mind buying one at that price. Paid like 31.99 for one on eBay like 3 years ago.

Hey. Im thinking about getting a mechanical keyboard after typing and playing on my laptop keyboard for quite some time.
Can anyone suggest me a good keyboard?

Location: Germany
Any keyboards you currently have in mind: Like the way typing feels on the Razer BlackWidow, like the design of DasKeyboard
Price:up to 150$ / 140€
Backlighting: not needed but would be nice
Size (60%, TKL, full size etc):TKL, but full size would be okay as well
Use (games/ programming/ typing etc):mostly RTS gemaing and typing
USB/ PS2: USB
KRO: yes
Macro keys (yes/ no): not necessary
Media keys (yes/ no): not necessary
Layout (US/ ANSI, etc): German
Switch type: That's the part I'm struggeling with. I really like using Blue Switches esp. when playing Starcraft. But I tried them on a QPAD Mk-50 and they felt a bit to "soft" to press. I can't really describe it. Unfortunately I haven't found another keyboard in stores etc. to test if this is true with alle blue switches. I already know, that I don't want black or red switches - browns aren't that appealing to me aswell but I'm not quite sure if the switches I tested were MX Browns or just some others.
As I already said: I really like the way typing felt on the newest Razer BlackWidow (the normal one, not the stealth one).

Next week a friend of mine is going to give me a Switch Tester - then I think I can decide what Switch I like the most.

What keyboard would you recommend me?
