Hey man sounds like a pretty shitty issue. Did you spill anything over recently? Maybe there's water or some liquid causing issues with the PCB?

i did not

For that switch chattering - IDK. In the videos i have, it looks like the key-down is received, but it's as if i didn't take my finger off the button until i press and release it again. That eats the second key-down command too, which makes osu act as if i didn't press the button at all

downloaded that second program and spammed 2 keys like 500-1k times but it didn't detect anything. It's a pretty rare problem though that might not have even been enough

Is there any way to order a mechanical keyboard with different switch types on different keys? For example, i play sc2(with grid) so i would want the left side of the keyboard to be black/blue switch to avoid all misclicks, but I want the other side of the keyboard to be lighter and easier to press.

www.wasdkeyboards.com maybe has that option

Yeah that's pretty weird. If it didn't detect anything, maybe the actual switch is getting stuck when you push down on a key, but you don't visibly see it? Have you tried just pressing with the keycap off to see if it's mechanical? Sorry I can't help much more than this, but hopefully we'll find something.

As far as I know, you'll have to make one yourself. There was a design for one with a lot of differnt switches, but it was a pre-set and I'm not sure if it was made by a company or that I just saw it on reddit.

Weird stuff is happening. I have had a CM QuickFire Pro for a year now, and it just stopped working over night. Literally.

This morning, I turn on my desktop and the keys stay lit up, but it doesn't work. No clue what's going on. It's a damn shame, I was loving that keyboard.

Location: Germany or UK
If not in the US or UK, links to stores in your country:
Any keyboards you currently have in mind:
Price:5-150 €
Backlighting (yes (colour?)/ no ):yes, please. I prefer white.
Size (60%, TKL, full size etc):TKL
Use (games/ programming/ typing etc):Games, typing, 3D modeling
USB/ PS2: not sure
KRO: huh?
Macro keys (yes/ no):no
Media keys (yes/ no):volume up/down would be nice but not necessary
Layout (US/ ANSI, etc):English would be perfect, German would work, American wouldn't. OSX layout would be a bonus.
Switch type (if not known complete the questions below):
*Noise level (high/low):don't mind noise
*Tactility (yes/ no):not sure
*Stiffness (high/ low):low, I guess

Any suggestions?

I think it was a software issue with windows

registry edit (i think from earlier in this thread) toggled filter keys on and it was doing that sometimes. Seems to be fixed now, i'l update if not

Does anyone have experience with sound dampeners? Are they worth it/do they affect the feel in a noticeable way?

^I have not used o-rings before but they seem to make a significant difference to sound and several high profile osu players have used them for the feel (less distance to bottom out the key, since you're bottoming out when playing)

I got the .4mm blue ones pre installed from WASDkeyboards. they make about as much noise as a standard rubber domed keyboard. Never used a mech keyboard without them so I can't really contrast the feel. but it feels fine to me since I actively try to type as lightly as possible most of the time.

make sure you buy the cheaper ones from amazon or something.

Ok thank you both. I'm more concerned about the feel than the sound. I'm considering red switches for my next keyboard (I use browns) and I think I'll bottom out pretty hard given what I'm used too. The sound difference is probably good though, I think my girlfriend wants to kill me when I hammer on it for a couple hours.

Are the cheaper ones pretty much the same?

I can't imagine them being much different and based on the reviews on amazon they seem to function basically the same. I only paid 18$ for it from WASD because I didn't want to spend time installing it myself.

Many mech board users don't bottom out when typing - you're just hammering the keyboard for a game like osu where you have to push a button 8 times per second and put 2000 keystrokes on 2 buttons in 3-4 minutes

I've installed o-rings a week back on my cherry MX red keyboard. While the differnece is noticeable, it's not a huge deal and I haven't made up my mind yet whether this is better or not. It makes the feel more mushy and of course, bottoms out faster. For gaming it technically is beneficial, but it mostly comes down to feel.
