Any good mechanical keyboards that are similar to membrane? After about a year of using my mechanical keyboard (blue switch), I gotta say I still prefer a brand new membrane keyboard.

Cherry MX Clears with o-rings feel very similar to membrane. I didn't like the feel though

Saw some youtube vids of the topre's, and they do sound very subtle, which was what I was looking for. Damn I hate myself for having such a spoiled taste. Hopefully that novatouch won't be as pricey (probably will be, though).

Anyway, I've used a leopold brown switch before and it sounds very similar to the topre switches. Anyone have any experiences with them? Do they have a fairly significant difference in the subtlety of the noise they make?

Right now I have a Noppoo Choc Mini with browns, and my roommate had a leopold with browns so I have used both. For topres I have used my friend's HHKB . The sound on the topres seems a lot more buffered, and a bit quieter, even when compared to browns, for some reason the leopold browns sounded a bit louder, it might have been the keycap material, but yeah, if you want quiet, I think topres are slightly quieter compared to browns, at least in my experience.

Half of that seems more reasonable

If the SteelSeries Sensei was any indication of quality from that company I wouldn't bother with them.

SteelSeries is a decent brand. The bigger problem would be that the 6Gv2 has been out for almost 3 years I think and there are many better mechanical boards that have come out in that span, not to mention that its price seems to have increased, and that it wasn't the greatest board in the first place.

I want to sell this Noppoo Choc Mini but the typing on it FEELS SO GOOD UGH

back in stock!~

I bought this guy so I'm waiting for it to ship, I'll have to wait 4 months before I can use it though since I'll be leaving before it arrives. I might buy another one too while I'm away, and some custom caps if I'm feeling ambitious :3

Sorry if it's been already asked - but has anyone tried the new green/orange switches from Razer? If so, how are they compared to the Cherry blue/brown counterparts?

Does anybody know if there's a way to deal with "bouncing" keys, i.e. one key press that triggers multiple signals, short of buying a new keyboard?

Is it only some of the keys or all keys of the keyboard?

I'd try silicone based grease (not sure if that's the right type) or some sort of electrical contact cleaner in an aerosol spray can, a tiny drop or tiniest possible spray into the pressed down switch from the top.

The 'Orange' Switch:

Because I have been used to using Reds coming close to 2-years now, I was extremely sceptical about buying a new switch and trying it out, I didn't want to buy it, use the keyboard like once and never come back to it ever again. But I'm not going to lie, I'm glad I did. It's a great switch, it's very strange though and the feeling surrounding the switch is not like you would expect it to be.

Even though it's supposed to be an ascendant from the Brown switch, it doesn't really feel like it all that much in my honest opinion, it's a really hard feeling to describe, it's 45g like browns and reds, so that's nice, it does have a very slight/tactical bump, but somehow, they have managed to create a bit more resistance than what I'm used too when using the MX Cherry Reds on my Noppoo, but I need more time to get used to the board, but thus far? I am absolutely loving the new switch and they are definitely worth a try, without a doubt.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll try the grease. To clarify, it happens all over the major part of the main sector (letters and numbers) - where it has quickly increased from being an occasional hiccup to being a regular problem over the past weeks. The num block, f-keys, arrows, and function block seem fine - or I simply haven't noticed because I don't use them as frequently.

Look through this for a hint of what grease is best and what's a mistake to use: http://imgur.com/a/lhLqo

How's Corsair K65? Need to replace my and WASDv2 due to a renovation issue in my apt and can't afford something expensive at the moment. Does the QFR still hold a high quality? It's between those two at the moment.

K65 doesn't have a shroud so it's easier to clean and looks sexy as well (personal opinion). It has dedicated volume keys and F keys are placed closer to the number row (maybe be a pro or a con, depends on your view). Two downsides is that it's only available with red switches and it doesn't use standard modifier sizes so keycaps for them are impossible to find I think.

..So, how would one go about painting a Blackwidow Ultimate's ''shell'' white? I've looked at different people's results doing it and it looked incredible.

Usually same way you would normally go about painting something, using spray paint.

I would just PM someone who posted results of doing it and asked them for their setup and advice, they'll probably be more than happy to answer you

Thanks, I've actually been meaning to try out the reds having had Filco Blue/Brown, WASD Blue and 6gv2 Black in the past. Went ahead and ordered the K65, being easy to clean is definitely a big +, looks like you can just blow some air and the dust will go right out the other side.

For those considering the DT-35: I recently bought one in Seoul and it seems to be a very decent keyboard. It's in no way mechanical if you are looking to explore that end of keyboards (i own 4 mechanicals and love them too) but its a good keyboard for starcraft if you can buy it for its real price (10-15 US dollars). The keys have a solid poppy feel when you push them, the keycaps are nice and textured. Really everything from the height of the keycaps, to the classic simple design appeal to me without being flashy or unnecessary. Plus it's the keyboard that fOrGG uses <3. Recommended.
