Hi Need help, i used to run sc2 on high, i got a virus factory reset computer, killed the virus reinstalled windows and all of the drivers but now i cant run sc2 on any higher than low wtf?? have a geforce gtx660 graphics and i know it should work. it has done before, blizzards telling me no memory or no space but the computers fresh there should be lots, driver scanners telling me everythings up to date so idk what else to do
please help!

Make sure that you're using the gtx660 (screen plugged into it rather than integrated graphics) and have drivers installed for it

All,
I use xsplit to live stream our semipro football games on springdalesportsnetwork.com. Im not real smart with computer stuff.
Where we are located I have to use a wifi hotspot and generally get a 7 to 10 mbps upload speed. When live on the devices the stream looks great but if you make screen larger on a computer or smart TV it gets a little pixelated. Also when I replay the archive file on our site its low quality and my xsplit internal recording is just a little better.
Ive been using a 1500 bitrate with 720p out put at 30 fps.
Is there anything else I can do to make it better.
Im not a gamer but I bought a new ASUS G752 laptop to run my xsplit, is that powerful enough? Please forgive my inexperience I was out of high school when the first pc's came out so.....

Because they're using a resolution a lot higher than 720p, usually 1080p+ (which is 2.25x more pixels)

you could try going to 1920x1080@30fps and raising bitrate (around 3000 if the wifi works well enough)

that laptop cpu should be pretty fine

I am thinking about getting an ultra wide monitor (21

). Does someone have experience with playing SC on an ultra wide? How does it feel, is it recommended, does it hinder a lot?

SC2 scales the viewing area so that 16 by 9 aspect ratio shows the most area and wider or taller aspect ratios cut off a large part of the screen, you have to use black bars and waste the additional screen area to avoid that.

Buy the kaby lake chipset instead of the last gen one, they support kaby out of the box

Since I upgraded my pc (new case, gpu, motherboard and psu), I can't use low dpi settings in some games as it makes the mouse drag, skip and stutter, I didn't have this before nor does it happen in every game, just a few.. Once I go from 400/800 and even 1600 dpi to 3200, the issue is gone, but it doesn't make any sense to me that this is happening now, I mean, I'm still using the same screens I was using before the upgrade. Used different mice, all the usb ports I have at the back and the front,.. problem persists.

specs:

i7 4790K
asus b58 pro gamer motherboard
16gb of RAM
700w psu from Be Quiet
asus gtx 1060 6gb

using 2 monitors: the xl2730 and the xl2411z from BenQ, though I only use my games on the 2730.

Although I didn't do a clean install, I was able to just continue with my system the way it was installed before the upgrade, usually when I upgrade or build a new system I format all of my drives, so I'm guessing that's where the problem lies as I've tested pretty much everything else, priority and affinity settings, power management settings on the root hub from my usb ports etc... Didn't find the HPET in my bios, as I know that can cause mouse issues though personally that would be a first for me, my bios is updated, all the drivers are updated, temps are fine,..

Also noticed that not everything is being displayed properly, last night I opened a program and like none of the letters were visible, right click on the desktop where you get copy, cut, paste etc and it didn't appear until I went over it with my mouse so.. I might just have to do a clean install.

I guess you should run memtest86 for a few hours. This runs before Windows is started, so you would have proof that the combination of CPU and motherboard and RAM are not what's causing this, instead something about the PC that's only in use when Windows is loaded.

The GPU might not be running stable. Maybe its factory overclock is a bit too much for it and it wasn't noticed in the testing after manufacturing. You could try reducing it core and memory clocks a little and see what happens. If the problems are gone, you should send it back for a replacement as it's new.

If you are overclocking the CPU, see what's happening without overclock. The new motherboard might measure voltage differently and other settings have a different meaning, so your old overclock settings might need some work.

Also, this issue being with the mouse being gone at 3200 dpi makes no sense. Could it still be there? The brain might be getting tricked into not perceiving it because the mouse is getting too hard to control or something.

In FPS games I usually play with low dpi settings and low sensitivity, so basically when I put it up to 3200 dpi I lower my sensitivity accordingly, and I've been testing it by even lowering my sensitivity so much where you can't move it fast anyways, and it goes away when I use 3200 dpi, but at 400/800/1600 it stutters, drags and skip.

Played fps games at a very respectable level competitively for over a decade and when something's wrong I really can't miss it, nor is it my brain playing tricks on me. Did the tests with 3 mice, used the same dpi steps for the tests and as soon as I use 3200 it's gone.

Yeah, I thought you were just talking about using the mouse pointer, but this is crazy seeing this in an FPS where you have the game's sens setting to make everything same speed. I can't think of anything to look at, except something like all mice being same manufacturer and without their own memory and needing the same manufacturer's software running to tweak dpi and that software somehow being broken.

nope, Zowie, Logitech, Qpad, SteelSeries,.. did the specific test with 2 Zowie mice and a Logitech one, but been trying with Qpad and steelseries also and it happens to all of them. Tested my polling rate etc too and there's nothing wrong there.

Doing the memtest atm, been going for an hour now, pass 2/4 errors 0.

Can you try and test this in Windows in safe mode? This doesn't seem like something hardware related at this point, so it could be drivers, OS itself or some other software. I don't believe you wrote what version of Windows you're using?
