If i had those issues, Craton, i would either use a low sens and completely relax wrist, or use my wacom tablet~ i read a long review from somebody once on amazon UK i think who got one to replace mice and other input devices after a lot of RSI problems. I could make a vid to show quick interactions on a desktop environment etc if you want. They're only like $60 so it's nothing if you consider using one for a year or two at work.

I've always wondered whether or not doing exercise which strains the arms (push-ups, chin ups, that sort of thing) helps wrists become more sturdy for desktop use.

If it is what I think it is (I Googled it), I think it would be too impractical for me to use at the office with what I do. I would say that home PC use causes me the greater share of issues in any event.

I think I use a comparatively medium sensitivity (I'd have to calculate it down to 1080p equivalent when I'm home). I really can't use a low sensitivity - even if I acclimated to having to make larger gestures, it would still tire my arm.

1080p 600dpi is the same as 1440p 800dpi, so that's a good value for relaxed wrist i think. Up to double that would work, but if you go higher then you'll be very quickly transitioning to a different style of mouse movement relying a bit on wrist tension and pivoting etc. If you're trained out of doing that, you shouldn't feel fatigue from mouse movement i think it's mostly just not being used to the sensitivity, getting used to moving your hand instead of tilting it to the side to move the cursor a long distance, etc

Maybe you'd want tablet for home desktop use, but it's pretty hard to judge them without owning them. The level of control is surprisingly good and wireless pen position tracking from like 2 inches away is cool.

I'm home now. I run 1900 dpi @ 1440p.

Holding a pen/stylus for a length of time would surely cause me more discomfort than holding a mouse, if my flashbacks to note-taking in college are anything to go on :>. My simpler reason for not wanting to use one is at least in part because of how much I go back and forth between the KB and mouse while working. Picking up and setting down a stylus repeatedly would be cumbersome.

you don't have to hold them very tightly or touch tablet aside from if you want to use tablet touch as click, i would just put one on a wrist strap like a wii remote lol :D

Hey guys I have a trouble.
I just got back to Starcraft II after 2 years of playing LOL, I bought HOTS today and I was trying to play the campaign but...

My FPS is diving horribly, 10 or 5 fps even in early game. I tried to lower my graphics quality (I used to play on extreme) but even in low it is still diving to 5 fps.

I havent changed any software since the last time I played Starcraft II.
I have CPU I5 2300
Ram 4GB
GPU GTS 450

I don't now maybe it's a new configuration or something?

Campaign performs badly in some areas that sc2 is already known to perform badly in, mostly with lots of units. The zergling pathing with the cliff jump ability too etc, banelings. Since sc2 is heavily CPU bound most of the time especially when FPS is low, most of the graphics settings don't even change minimum FPS at all, even on some weaker graphics cards.

just put effects medium, physics off reflections off. You can also look at your CPU clock speeds and temperatures while playing to make sure that it's running properly, just use www.hwinfo.com sensors tab

I have the Core Temp for CPU and it shows all 4 cores working at 95% even in unranked games. Any idea of what is wrong?

Just look at task manager and stuff using your CPU. Sc2 itself will only do about 30-40% load on a 4-core CPU when working as hard as it can because of the way that the cores are used.

I don't have a problem atm to view log data, but if you open the sensors tab you can see CPU load per core, core temperatures etc. The task manager performance and processes tabs are also very important in windows

Hm, then restart it and make sure your GPU drivers are up to date. Make sure you're looking at CPU load when you're actually playing the game, not in a menu etc. What are CPU core clock speeds and temperatures at when you're playing?

You could delete the variables.txt in your users:documents folder to reset everything

Yup should stay at 2.8-3.1ghz and below ~90c at all times, but if it's not below ~70 in sc2 it'll probably throttle on other programs

best case scenario = slight adjustment because it's making bad contact and then suddenly it's fine (though maybe not 100% perfect)

worst case = need new thermal paste, clean off old paste and reapply paste, remount stock cooler
