Power supplies consist of multiple rails. The major power components (GPU and CPU) draw power from the 12v rail. Modern good units provide nearly all of its advertised power on the 12v rail. Most other components draw power from the other rails and are not relevant since they don't need much. Older units had their power divided more evenly across the rails as CPU power was provided by 5v back than and no one expected GPUs to be so power hungry? A typical overclocked i5 and ~$250 modern GPU will only use roughly ~250w under a gaming load, give or take depending on how mild or insane your overclocks are. A Superflower Golden Green is sufficient for any modern reasonable single GPU configuration. Pro3 and Pro4 are essentially the same thing. I think you have your head too wrapped up around "upgrade". You can keep a case, heatsink, and power supply for a decade or more so why not spend more on these components if you were really concerned with "upgrades". A Z77 and Core i5 3570k is already last generation. Wasting money on the motherboard is stupid since you can't upgrade to a newer processor without replacing the motherboard as well (and DDR4 if you are getting Skylake in 2015/2016). What I find is that most people who say they are spending more on the motherboard to upgrade later typically doesn't upgrade... @ skyR Alot of usefull infos there thanks ![]() I will be able to upgrade a "outdated" part of the build over time like a better GPU in 1-2 years and such. But did i get you right and you think that a z77 and i5 3570k is wasted money, if i want to keep the overall build and take it as a basic to upgrade later on? @Ropid With a 500+w PSU i wanted to be on the save side IF i want to add maybe an extra GPU and such. 80+% of 450 would be like 360-380w maybe? So there isnt THAT much space, right? Overall you guys made me think that i need to choose a MoBo of the new generation and a CPU that fits on it. Just hope that i dont have to search every part new to fit on the new MoBo. Have u guys any suggestion on an next gen MoBo + CPU, similar in performance and price? Very much thanks so far to you ![]()

All the motherboards have a PCI-E 3.0 slot which is way more bandwidth than any single GPU can make use of. multi-GPU upgrade route is typically bad.as it carries all the problems with SLI / CrossfireX drivers / support, microstuttering, more heat, more noise, more power consumption, etc. I'm not saying you should be purchasing the latest generation stuff. I'm just saying spending more on the motherboard with the idea 'it'll give me more options to upgrade' is dumb.

+ Show Spoiler + Basically the video opens much smaller than full screen, but is in full screen and clicking anywhere will pause the video. Only way I've found to fix it is to wipe all Internet files from all time. -- On July 11 2013 20:52 Mozdk wrote: I have not. I just installed SC2 so there should be nothing in the cache folder right? If not, I was wondering, from a scale from 1 to 10 how much would you prefer to have from a choice of 2 options like more if you put the pros and cons together. Would your decision from the accumulated info about my question be more likely to have a positive or negative reaction if you assume that the question is a yes or no question however, it is likely that the question is not at all a yes or no question but a question which requires a open answer. Which would require you to open your mind when a yes or no question would require a more sealed mind, which begs the question are you open or a closed minded person what if the question is the opposite of your thinking patern?

I just played a game in which my ping was listed at 300+ ms. I ran a trace on the server that I was connected to during the game (I opened the console and found the ip). The server is located in Alabama, geographically not butt fuck Egypt away from me. The trace results however said another thing. Also, I don't have any EU servers as a connection choice, only USW and USE. Here is the server I ran a trace to. My first 6 hops were to European servers. Finally the 7th hop was in Washington DC. My question: what the fuck gives? The server is in Alabama, yet my routes were starting from Europe. Is this game related or ISP related? If anything, if someone can point me in the right direction of an answer that would be great. Thanks in advance.

It may likely be the fault of the trunks/intermediary carriers. Australians used to have really awful pings to WoW because of similar bad routing (which I think had to do with certain hops treating that type of traffic differently (i.e. worse than other traffic)) and used to get around it by using one of those tunneling services that would effectively obfuscate the traffic type and ultimately improve the routing. I don't know if doing something like that would help or hurt you in this case. Also I'm guessing you traced their forward-facing website, which isn't necessarily the same as the game servers.

Artifacting definitely doesn't need to happen all the time or right away for it to be a faulty card, but it should be an eventuality.

Try running a driver cleaner and reinstall the drivers. Try using an older version of the drivers.

EDIT: I was anxious to get this working so I installed the driver before I went to sleep and it works great. Thanks again!

At some point while playing sc2 or dota2 my mouse stops being locked to my main screen, eventually I end up clicking on the second screen and alt tabbing myself. Once I tab back in the mouse is locked on the main screen again. My only idea is maybe I should look at reinstalling direct X, any other suggestions?

If that's true, you could run the game in an actual window as an experiment, and should see the window border turning into the background window color when that problem with the mouse happens. You could then be sure it's some other program's fault and start hunting for it.

Is there anyway to disable that through registry or something? Alternatively, is there a way to make an opened program unclickable or something? The reason is that I am playing a game in windowed mode (which sadly does not have borderless window mode), and whenever I accidentally middle click the game itself, it causes the game to crash ![]() I use middle click a lot in the game but sometimes accidentally middle click the program (causing it to crash). Edit - Also I want it only disabled for that feature (middle clicking on a program in the taskbar to open/close it). I use middle click a lot normally (so I don't want to outright disable it, unless it still works fine in browsers and games).
