no i mean i dont want to pick some theme out, i wanted to edit it out myself. It's very simple, just change shit to blue and grey/black. But apparently I can't do that, i just have to search tons of themes and hope someone has the right one.
I suppose I could find the theme that guy did, and then change what i dont like... i dunno, that sucks.

You can manually edit the files I think, like for example my modified windows explorer buttons were fully customisable if I so desired to make my own.

Anyone ever heard of oakale.com?
They got the sapphire 7950 for $230... never heard of them. But the last time I bought from a mysterious website, directron.com, they turned out to be completely legit (a great company actually, they gave a free bag, not that i care, but very quick, and when i had to rma the piece of crap, not their fault, they even tested the replacement for me before sending it out, and were very quick and paid for shipping).
edit: Just before anyone thinks it's a good idea to buy from them, I don't trust the site to be honest. Doesn't take paypal, i try to google stuff on the site and a bunch of sites say the site is from russia. Although i think those sites are rip-off sites (pay $1.99 to see if this website is legit!) but i dunno, i cant find anything on this site.
Will probably go with the cheapest 7950 i can find, sapphire 7950 from tigerdirect $279AR.

sapphire 7950 for $230 ಠ_ಠ
How could they magically reduce price by >20%?
|
Small shop liquidating, shifting out product, etc.? Not every sale needs to be for profit.
But definitely I'd heard of directron but not oakale. Oakale's got a grand total of 0 ratings on Google Shopping and is also unlisted on ResellerRatings. Directron has 287 with average 4.8/5 on Google and 8.17/10 on 1661 at RR, for reference.
I wouldn't try it, but that's just me, and you might say I'm normally risk adverse.
|
from my experience, you gotta ask google to put you on google shopping and be legit and all, that's what's a bit confusing.
Lack of paypal and no comments makes me no want to bother though. I mean it says a stock of 8, so I'm thinking it's possible it's just liquidation stuff, maybe it's legit... i dont know.
I think I'm going to go with the sapphire dual-x 7950 off tigerdirect, which is the cheapest 7950 I can find *anywhere*.

Yeah, I mean, it looks on the surface like a new front for an existing operation, but you never know...
or rather, that doesn't guarantee anything good about the parent organization

Hello guys! Im wondering if its worth to clock my CPU IF sc2 is all i want to play?
I got 16gb ram, i5 3570k gfx Titan and a asus P8z77 mainboard.
|
Yes, the Titan is pretty much useless—meaning, not practically any better than some GTX 650 Ti or so, unless you are playing on a very high resolution—because it's the i5-3570k that would hold you back.
Better overclock the CPU, if you want higher (min) fps later in the game.

Why would you buy a titan and 16gb RAM if sc2 is all you want to play?
Somebody with 4gb (or 8gb if you don't want to care about optimizing ram usage) RAM and a cpu 100mhz faster than yours will run sc2 better
And also which motherboard? There's an entire line of Asus p8z77 boards, the p8z77-v, p8z77-v lx, etc
and cooling capabilities? If you don't know much about overclocking, ask questions first, overclock later or with assistance
Better overclock the CPU, if you want higher (min) fps later in the game.
Not just min fps, basically any FPS ever. With a titan, gpu bottlenecks are so far out of the window that you could probably get 400fps instead of 250 with 12 supply on the map just from oc..
40% oc = 40% higher averages, and like 55% higher minimums at this point, at least in/past midgame

The Noctua NH-D14 CPU Cooler
Mainboard ASUS P8Z77-V, Socket-1155
Why I bought the Titan? Well, i guess cus I got a big bonus at work, and wanted to use my money before it got engulfed by bills and family things ;D
Im going to overclock today i think then, since i just got a freind over to help me with installing the fan

The Noctua NH-D14 CPU Cooler
Haha really not fucking around :D
I can go over basics i guess if you want to pm me. I know Ivy Bridge pretty in depth and own the exact same motherboard
|
Realistically, if the min fps is higher, it is hard for the average not to be higher as well (with same chip, drivers). You know what I mean.
But it's good to be spelled out I guess.
I still kind of think there was a Titanic waste of money somewhere, but it's not like you can really improve non-trivially on the i5-3570k. Maybe a new monitor or two instead?
|
yea sell 8gb of that ram, and the titan, get a more appropriate video card, and then the money can be better put towards an i7 instead, a better motherboard, a better cooler (nh-d14 is not really a good cooler, it's only justifiable if you buy it used, it's the 2nd worst high tier cooler), and better monitors. better ram... (crucial ballistix LPs for example are awesome and cheap).

Well, looks like a no-worry-wreck-everything gaming rig to me, you can use >8gb ram just from os, browser tabs and a game or two loaded if you'd rather not care for ram usage, i7 doesn't really help in any game aside from crysis 3 (and a better gpu will help in almost all games)
nothing air will beat the nhd14 by more than a few degrees afaik
Why would you want a better motherboard than the p8z77-v?
|
if you want to be extravagant, i7>i5 rather than titan>650ti or 7770.
a few degrees is quite a lot for air coolers in the same tier, and that's on low overclocks. On a high overclock (and why else would you buy a high end cooler?), it's quite possible you have a 5-10*C difference from, say, a Logisys Assassin and NH-D14 with 3x140mm TY-141s.
Not to mention similar prices. Why get the nh-d14 when the assassin/k2 is the same price, if not cheaper? ie why get the 212+ when the 212 evo is $8 right now, why get the h100 when the lq320 is $39, why get the megahalems when the macho is way cheaper, etc.
