Hey guys,
I've been losing a lot of ladder games due to random crashes while playing.
When the problem occurs the screen will just freeze and stop updating. After a few seconds I will then get the "this program has stopped responding" windows popup asking if I want to wait or close the program. Waiting never works. I can always alt-tab between programs when the problem happens and my system seems stable, its just SC2 itself that crashes.
In the windows problem history for the crashes the errors are always like this:
Problem signature Problem Event Name: AppHangB1 Application Name: SC2.exe Application Version: 1.2.2.17811 Application Timestamp: 4d5b2b61
There is no real pattern in when the crashes occur, most of the time I can play long games with no problems, but in 5-10% of games SC2 will crash without any warning or any kind of lag before hand.
For system specs I am running a dual monitor system with
Nvidia 9800GTX AMD Phenom 9850 Quad Core 2.5GHZ 4M ram Vista home premium
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

go in sc2 processes task manager ( ctrl + alt + delete ) right click sc2.exe then set affinity unclick all cpu except 1 then ok.

Try using multiple (2 or 3 cpu) cores at the same time instead of 1

if i use more than 1 cpu, i got sc2.exe crashes...

Ahh that sucks. Sc2 relies heavily on second (and sometimes third or fourth on weak cpu's) to offload stuff so it can leave one core empty for the main game thread which needs as much CPU as it can get on one core so you'll see significantly worse performance with only 1 core
Random shot, but did you try disabling sound with the toggle in game? It'd be a big pain to play without sound for long enough to know if it fixes anything though.
You could almost certainly trigger crashes from watching replays though, the way replays work in sc2 engine, it's basically just playing a game but reading commands from a file instead of from you.
