I actually briefly went back to my Diamondback 3G for nostalgia's sake yesterday as it was my second gaming mouse ever and I found that its tracking doesn't really hold up to today's standards unfortunately. It could just be because my unit is old and beginning to crap out but I doubt it. If you go from a mouse with awesome tracking such as the Deathadder to the Diamondback 3G I think chances are you'll be greatly disappointed.

Loved that mouse to death. And I would still be using mine if I didn't wear out my old one. Served me a good 3 years.

Anyone have a Logitech G9X? yeah yeah, I know, a bunch of korean pros use it, but that's not why I've been considering it, and that's not what I'm asking...what I'm asking is, does anyone have one, and if you do and you like it, why do you like it? What do you like about? What's good, bad, great?

What do you like about? What's good, bad, great? I quite like it, the size is quite nice, I like the shape it is not indented which that is better for the way I hold it kind of fairly tight between my thumb and ring finger and little finger and have my fingers to press the buttons kind of hovering. It weighs similar to the kinzu I have but is a more compact shape. The customisation is pretty insane, you can store five different profiles on the mouse and each of those can have 5 dpi settings which are just toggle on the fly and that is what the lights indicate, also the colour of the lights tells you which profile you are using. Anyway it makes it pretty easy to find a comfortable sensitivity. I don't use the cover grip things but the really bulky one is pretty comfortable but just not good for how I grip the mouse with my fingers rather than palm. It also has a pack of weights and looks pretty cool even without the cover, it also glides much much smoother than my last few mice (kinzu & xai).
The one thing I don't like about it is that the middle mouse button is really stiff, almost unusable if you had it for a button in game

I tried one but I found it too small for my liking. The grips that came with it kind of made the mouse too heavy for my taste but it did make the mouse fit my hand better.
The sensor it has though has native acceleration, but it's something you'll learn to compensate for over time.
Do note though, that you'll need a hard pad for this mouse if you wanna get it.

That's just the placebo effect. Older sensors, like the one in Diamondback 3G or the Deathadder 3G, are just as good and often even better than the newer ones. The only difference is that it is not capable of higher dpi(like 3500 and more), which nobody should fucking ever use anyway!!!

Wrong. You don't "need" a hard pad for laser.

Well if you want your mouse to suffer from negative accel you can go ahead and use a cloth pad.

I have heard great things from the old deathadder's sensor indeed but I didn't know that the diamondback's was as good. I suppose there's a problem with my unit then, because it skips quite a bit and draws straight lines in Paint.

Your mouse probably has the A3070 and not the updated 3080 (or s3668 in the 2007 ed.), which had an occasional pixel skipping issue. Also drawing straight lines in paint via angle snapping isn't a problem per se, it's a feature. I just want to make it clear that this isn't a tracking error, but an intended behavior by the manufacturer.
Also,
Older sensors, like the one in Diamondback 3G or the Deathadder 3G, are just as good and often even better than the newer ones. the s3668 isn't exactly an old sensor, unless you are talking about the A3090 or A9800 which are less than a year old in the market iirc.

Hey I guys I am looking for a new mouse to use to play gaming and do other regular day to day stuff. Here the answers to your questions. 1. What's your grip style? Palm for sure( right now i am using a logitech m510) 2. What's your sensitivity? Medium to High 3. What's your maximum budget? about $40-55 the more less the better 4. Do you want additional buttons? 3-5 button would be good. left, right, middle and 2 sides would be okay ( i dont really use the the sides but whatevers. 5. What games do you play? Alot of Starcraft, Counter Strike Source, Max payne 3, Modern Warfare 3 and others. 6. Do you mind angle snapping? No idea what this mean lol please explain. 7. Other relevant information I love to have a cored mouse. and other i dont know lol. Choices I have in mind the Razer Deathadder for $44.99 @ newegg Logitech G400 $34.99 @newegg.com I love the design for Razer Deatheradder but its $44.99 and the G400 for $34.99 doesnt look as nice and slick as the Razer Deathadder. Any comments should I spent 10 more for the Razer Deathadder or just save 10 and get the G400. The G400 has a 3 years warranty compare to deathadder 2 years. If you guys have any other mice to recomend that are better than these two then please tell. Please I am goin to order today so please try to answer quickly also I know this is the wrong thread to ask this question but I saw a deal on a REFURBISHED Logitech Illuminated Black for $30(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823126216) should I jump on it or do you guys reccomend me not to buy refurbished items. Thank you guys!!!! <3 Teamliquid

def. logitech g400. my brother had 2 DAs go bad and also the shape is not as comfortable, the right side bothers my hand. my abyssus was alright, but the button wore out real quick, and we also had a xai which suffered similar faith as the DA. so far the I find the g400 to be the most comfortable and responsive, and it's cheap. can't go wrong imo.

1. What's your grip style?
Palm.
2. What's your sensitivity?
Medium-high.
3. What's your maximum budget?
No more than $100, the cheaper the better
4. Do you want additional buttons?
I'd prefer fourth and fifth mouse buttons, beyond that I don't think I need any.
5. What games do you play?
Starcraft II, Dota 2, a few other rts and fps games casually.
6. Do you mind angle snapping?
I'd prefer no angle snapping.
7. Other relevant information:
I'm right handed and I want a wired mouse. I'm thinking about buying a logitech mouse, because they seem to be durable and less flashy than other mice. I'd prefer a less flashy design because I'll be using my mouse for schoolwork and other non-gaming purposes most of the time. If possible, I'd like to have a mouse with a hyper-scrolling feature similar to the Logitech G500. I'd prefer a braided cord, but a non-braided cord would be fine with me as well.
I was thinking about buying the Logitech G500, but I've heard the braided cord on the G500 often shorts out. Also, I've gotten the impression that the G500 is more geared toward fps gamers due to its adjustable DPI and customizable weights.

1. What's your grip style? Fingertip
2. What's your sensitivity? Medium to High
3. What's your maximum budget? $45
4. Do you want additional buttons? Does not matter
5. What games do you play? SC2 only
6. Do you mind angle snapping? Not sure
7. Other relevant information: Hand size is Small-Medium (18.4cm tip of middle finger to end of palm, and 8.89cm palm width) so I was looking at smaller mice. I have it narrowed down to 2 or 3 that I am really considering. The main mice I am trying to decide on is the StealSeries Kinzu v2 Pro or maybe the CM Storm Spawn. I really like the Kinzu v2 pro but have read bad things about the tracker. I like the CM Storm Spawn but I'm not sure how it's shape would feel, as I have read that it's a claw grip. Another mouse that I have considered is the Razer Abyssus, but I have heard mixed reviews about Razer products and the blue LED light on the back always being on even when your PC is in sleep mode is a deal breaker for me. So that pretty much leaves me with the CM Storm Spawn with an Amazon price of $35 vs. the SteelSeries v2 Pro with an Amazon price of $45. So suggestions are welcome or if you have any other mice that you think I should consider please feel free to add. Thanks
GG

I wouldn't spend that much on the kinzu v2, you can buy the the original kinzu from ebay for $20 from south korea if that interests you. Cm storm spawn has a few fans and probably has more features

Been using logitech g300 for 2 seasons after a long use of mx500 (and its similar shapes ones), and gotta say i don't agree with the OP's review. I've never missclicked the side buttons. I don't know how he can messes up really. Unless he isn't lying down his fingers (which is pretty stupid if he uses fingertip...). The nice thing about this mouse is when you're lying down your fingers you know exactly where they are. Add to that, it's way lighter than any mx500's mice. Kind of like the g1 but keep in mind it's not the same shape. Definitely worth a try. I use 2 mice now, g500 for browsing + diablo3 and g300 for sc2

death adder, best mouse ever :DDD

The CM Storm Spawn is a really good mouse and I would definitely recommend it for anyone who is a claw-grip user. The shape may look weird but trust me it is because of this design that makes it so comfortable. For people with large hands do not be afraid to use this mouse. It may be small but for a claw-grip user it does not really matter since you're basically moving with your fingers more instead of your whole hand and wrist. I have large hands and I'm using it just fine. Definitely a big plus from me.

I had an oly Razer Naga froma friend of mine which broke a week ago. I then decided to get a Logitech G400 since it was cheap and got really good reviews. But after using it a week one I don't really like its form. Especially on the right side I feel that my ring finger has no real place (I have to grab it far back to hold it somewhat comfortabley). Perhaps I am just holding it wrong? :p
What would you recommand instead? I thought about the Deathadder but I don't want it to break after a year or two. Shapewise it should be as a simple as possible with as few buttons as possible. Only play SC2 and some RPGs (Witcher, Dragon Age etc) with it.
1. What's your grip style? a mix between Palm and Claw, I guess.
2. What's your sensitivity? Medium
3. What's your maximum budget? €50
4. Do you want additional buttons? No.
5. What !@#$%^&* do you play? SC2 mainly
6. Do you mind angle snapping? Don't know it, so I guess not.
