Palm 2. What's your sensitivity? 1000-3000 3. What's your maximum budget? Any 4. Do you want additional buttons? Not really needed. 5. What games do you play? DoTA 2, LoL, FPS. 6. Do you mind angle snapping? Yes. 7. Other relevant information: Basically looking for a new mouse because I have bought several razer mice all of which have died on me. I seem to have issues with mice that have a-lot of flashy extras and so I want to return to a simple functional mouse. I haven't really got big hands but extremely long fingers so for example when using the old Razer deathadder, my pinky finger would be dragging against the mouse mat. I've been looking at the Feenix Nascita as it's size and shape appeal to me but I hear there is problems lifting the mouse and I'm not sure if it is overhyped or not. Any help would be great =p <3

You should look at the Steelseries Rival. I hope it's built more sturdy than Razer Deathadder, not just feels like that. A lot of people swear by the Logitech G400s shape which Logitech did not change for over ten years, so maybe take a good look at that one as well.

Thanks for the suggestions. One first note the Steelseries Rival looks a little plastic-y to me. Can anyone comment on it's build quality firsthand?

If you like wireless, the G602 is a great choice due to its really long battery life and 500Hz response time. Hey thanks. I took a quick look at them both and found one to be optical and the other to be laser. I'm pretty clueless but is there a major difference?

Optical is cheaper, doesn't have the ability to adjust DPI other than a two or three factory defualts, and doesn't have the tracking issues inherent in laser sensors such as prediction. They also track better on cloth mouse pads. the ADNS-9500 and ADNS-9800 both have a small amount of positive acceleration at very high movement speeds. Some even have jitter. Opticals, on the other hand, tend to be unable to handle higher hand movement speeds that very low sensitivity gamers may use, but when working properly will track nearly perfect 1:1 within about 0.5%. All of that is MUCH more important than the CPI (counts per inch, the proper term instead of DPI) a sensor is capable of. http://www.overclock.net/t/951894/the-truthful-mouse-guide http://www.overclock.net/t/1251156/an-overview-of-mouse-technology

Claw 2. What's your sensitivity? 1200-1500 3. What's your maximum budget? N/A 4. Do you want additional buttons? No. 5. What games do you play? StarCraft II is what I will buy it for. 6. Do you mind angle snapping? Yes. 7. Other relevant information: I've been using a Sensei for ~2 years now and it's working fine (except for that little bit of acceleration), but I guess I'm wondering what similar mouse I can buy with less accel? I'm so used to this mouse I don't really know if the acceleration on this mouse is very much above average. (It definately feels like that sometimes.. ![]() Any suggestions or is the sensei laser fine?

If you want something similar to the Sensei in feel but with a better sensor go for the zowie am.

Is it safe to say that the Sensei laser is actually capable of affecting performance negatively with the amount of accel it has?

Open up paint and try and draw some straight lines and such to see how much real control you have over the sensor.

Is there a way to deal with it? Has the problem got to do with my laptop or my mouse?

You should be able to tell if there is acceleration if you have problems stopping your movement at higher speeds.

Sensors mean very little in the end on a mouse if the shape is comfortable to you, a good shape will outweigh the minor sensor problems in most gaming mice. hey guys I have Steelseries XAI and have been extremely happy with it, precision is great and I love almost everything about it, problem is clicking buttons degenerated and sometimes they register double click and other wierd stuff so I have to change, one thing I want to improve on is silent clicks, it really bothers me to hear loud mouse click are you aware of any good similar mouse that has that silent or non existent click sound? is there anything better than Steelseries XAI? thanks! The Xai uses Omrons I think which are the most quiet decent switches you can find. Honestly a decent upgrade to the Xai would be a g100, zowie FK, Kana v2, abyssus but as far as the actual switches I think Xai will likely be as loud as any other omron switch, TTC (Kana) are even louder and the Huanos (FK) are in between.

Zowie AM is very similar and well recommended. I haven't tried it but everything I've read says Zowie is a better brand than steel series.
