ok i tested my abyssus and what is different between deathadder : pro : i can box from top right to left bottom twice as easier with abyssus . so is better for control and precision is 30% lighter then deathadder and you rly feel it . cons dont have 2 side buttons ( i used to use them 1 for a control group ctrl 9 and 1 for camera position on the ramp )
note : the scroll already broke in the first day . i scroll 3 times down and Sometimes it goes 1 time up . without scrolling up . and vice versa . ( i will return it for a new one next week) btw this is a very often meet problem . i had 2 black death adders and both had this problems .

Could someone recommend me a mouse to replace my 5 year old ikari laser? I use palm grip mostly and sensitivity of around 800. I loved the ergonomics of the ikari, the only issue I ever had with it was it got a little hot on my palm after a while.

Hi guys, sorry if this has been answered here but I'm not seeing it. I recently got a Logitech g9x since it seems to be the most recommended fingertip grip mouse there is, and I'm loyal to the Logitech brand (everything else breaks on me). I've only had it for a day but for some reason I can't get used to it. Holding it and all that physical stuff is fine, but the actual mouse movement is throwing me off. I have the dpi very similar to what I was using previously (g500), but I'm not accurate anymore. I turned off mouse acceleration and I have (poll rate?) at 500hz. Is this just a matter of getting used to the mouse? I'm going to x out of a window on my computer and I'm missing! Or is there maybe some other settings that I'm not seeing in the latest firmware?
edit: Did some research and it looks like the generic cloth mouse pad I'm using for it might not be the best. Can anyone confirm? I'm about to order the 4HD from steelseries.

You might want to try one first, and definately ask around to see what works best with the sensor.
There's been a lot of debate over the inconsistency of the sensor used in the g9x and a few other mice that can make you track further or not as far for the same mouse movement, but you might just be not used to the mouse yet or using a pad that makes things worse

Graph showing tracking speed vs speed that you move the mouse, for best precision it should be as close to a flat line as possible and the sensor is infamous for being terrible here vs other options, but many seem to argue that the average person can't notice it

You will get used to it eventually, it's probably about the sensor not being centered on the mouse, it's shifted a considerable amount to the left.

This too i noticed it looking at pictures and it could throw off the feeling a lot

I started using the mouse only over my wood desk and it's already much better than on the cloth mouse pad. I'd say that was about 80% of the problem. Once the new pad arrives it'll just be a matter of getting used to how smooth it is and the sensor position. Thanks for the help.
edit: Mouse pad arrived and problem solved. Really recommend the steelseries 9hd for the G9X. Removes weird acceleration from cloth pad and over sensitivity on pure hard surface!

Yeah, I've used the 4HD (smaller version of the 9HD) with my G9X @ 800 dpi, IMMVP style ftw.

1. What's your grip style?
Purely fingertip even when browsing casually.
2. What's your sensitivity?
Medium 1400 dpi specifically 1400-1800 preferred with options to go higher.
3. What's your maximum budget?
100$
4. Do you want additional buttons?
Need two side buttons on the left
5. What games do you play?
League of Legends/WoW
6. Do you mind angle snapping?
Yes
7. Other relevant information: Very low LOD, low weight, Shorter than 125mm preferred the Deathadder hits my palm way too early with fingertip. Easy to click. I used the Razer Imperator for 4 years. Tried the G9x after, and without grips it was too thin overall although I would like the mouse to be small. Trying the Deathadder right now and the back of the mouse hits my palm early. the width doesn't seem to bother me. It's a little heavy. My top choice so far has been the Zowie FK. Downsides to it are length and non-adjustable dpi. Sensei raw would be my second choice but my biggest concern is length.

You have three dpi levels on the zowie fk/am/ec, 450, 1150 and 2300 dpi. You could just use 2300 dpi and then use software to lower it (for example the windows sensitivity slider). Logitech G100s might be worth a look as well (if you can ignore not having extra buttons that is).

I need the two side buttons or the g100 would work as would many others. I thought of that as a last resort but it feels gimmicky.

If you can wait, wait for the Ninox Aurora to be released, should be released in December. Basically the same shape as the Logitech G100s/G1 with 2 side buttons.

Good suggestion. Will be looking into that.

Logitech G100 Overall above decent with its price, it's a light weight mouse, very comparable to the old MX300 mouse with a slight difference in shape. Nice button for changing cpi settings on-the-fly, with up to 5 set configurations. However Deathadder's ergonomic design was definitely more comfortable for game.
But, I had a left-click problem with the DA and broke it trying to fix it. It lasted 1.5 years before the problem came about. I do trust Logitech though, I had the MX300 for over 5 years, and they've got a 3 year warranty on the G100.

I'm loving my G100S in terms of the sensor and controllability. The mouse is not the best quality though unfortunately. The scrollwheel feels like it was designed to feel gross and the buttons are squeaky.
For the price though I still think it is by miles the best mouse around - if only they would release a higher-quality version with the same sensor I'd pay double in a heartbeat for it.

Sadly, the price for the G100S is all over the place in different countries. It's really hard to find in Germany and 50€ ist the minimum, which is just too much for such a simple mouse with questionable quality.

You can buy the logitech g100s @ amazon for about 50€. I am also thinking about buying this mouse since i have the feeling, that the deathadder is not the best mouse to play sc2 with. But i find the price quite high for a "basic" mouse with no extras.
