The shape is not for everyone though, for me it was too edgy, but you will have to try it out for yourself.

You can buy the modern warfarce edition of the g9x, once the shell is removed, it's exactly like the original one. It's available on ebay/amazon in germany pretty much all the time.

Different shapes and the mico is more of a full blown finger tip mouse, while you can kinda claw/palm the abysuss. The mico offers 400/800/1600 dpi, whereas the 1600 dpi is just interpolated and not recommended. The sensor in the abyssus is superior and less (if at all) buggy. Both are good options though.

well i use my deathadder @ 900 dpi . today a friend of mine gave me the chance to test his abyssus and his g400 . i have to say while the deathadder weights same as g400 and the shape is kinda same . the abyssus is way smaller/lighter/easier to control however to get 800-900 dpi you have to change in its software the sensivity , + the led cant be turned off . still dunno what to get . probably will end up with an abyssus

You could just set the Abyssus to 1800dpi with the switch on the bottom, and use 4/11 in windows. That would be 900dpi. I use mine at 810, with 6/11 in windows and 4,5/10 in drivers.

if the led bugs you that badly, it's really simple to open the mouse and unplug it. There's only one screw under the big skate.

The abyssus software has a sensitivity slider from 1 to 10 in 0.5 steps, whereas 10 = 100%, so if you want it to have 900 dpi, just set the abyssus to 1800 dpi (via the hardware dpi switcher located on the bottom side of the mouse) and set the sensitivity slider in the abyssus software to 5 (=50% of 1800 dpi = 900 dpi).
And yes, removing the led can be done in under two minutes without any experience.

ok i ordered my abyssus . it arrives in around 18 hours starting now . will let you guys know how it feel after 50 sc2 games :D thanks everybody for helping !

just a warning.. the button on the abyssus wears out fast. I had it for like 3 months and the button went bad, you have to press really hard for it to register so it's pretty much garbage. I'd go with the zowie mico now~

Hi, as I was considering purchasing an abyssus myself I'd be glad to hear your thoughts about it once you've used it a bunch. I actually use a Steelseries Sensei Raw (1700 dpi) and as much as I like the mouse I feel like it doesn't feet me. I had a smaller basic Logitech mouse prior to this one so I'm pretty much used to Fingetip/Claw grip, and I find the Sensei too heavy. I don't know if it's about the mouse or anything but It's even worse if I try to Palm with it besides; anyway awaiting for your opinion about it xsnac

I've had three abyssus; One lasted a little over a year, the second one is going on a year ~3 months, and the third I bought about a month ago as a replacement for when the second one inevitably breaks but the shell made the buttons felt stiffer so I returned it. It felt like they changed something with the shell recently and the buttons definitely feel stiffer but they're still lighter than the mico switches .

I just looked into my emails... It seems I bought my Abyssus in late January 2010. It seems I used the mouse for three years and seven months, pretty much every day. It still works fine. Mouse wheel is working just as well as it ever did, mouse buttons are working fine.

buying razer stuff is known to be a wee bit coin flippy though

Anyone have any mouse recommendations that are similar to the Logitech Mini Optical? That's been my favorite mouse for a long time now but obviously they haven't made it for a minute. The main thing I liked was how it fit in my hand so I guess the main thing I'm after is the form factor. If there isn't anything of similar form factor and quality I'll probably just buy a g400 or a Deathadder or something after trying them out.

The Zowie Mico looks like a clone of the Mini Optical shape wise.

I toss mine in a backpack daily and bring it to work, with a pair of headphones and occasionally a Leopold keyboard, no issues in more than a year.

Zowie Mico is basically an LMO clone with flat sides in terms of shape, take a look at it.
