I've only noticed this problem recently, which doesn't make sense to me considering I've had no hardware changes or anything else that could likely cause this issue.
I'll start up a game, and there is a loud buzzing sound that is much louder than the game's natural sounds. It isn't constant; it coincides with the sounds in-game. By this I mean it is less audible when *nothing* is happening, but it loudens every time a worker is moved/built or any time there is an alert.
The only thing that seems to change this is if I go into the sound options and change my speaker configuration (I normally run 5.1) to a lower setting (Quad/Stereo) and it usually goes away, but now it seems it doesn't matter what my configuration is, the buzzing is always there as soon as I load up SC2.
I have no issues running iTunes or using my speakers for anything else otherwise, and I haven't tried playing any other games (I uninstalled all my other PC games).
Any ideas anyone?

I had buzzing noises whenever my graphics card was rendering frames, but only when I used the front mini-jack thingy. Could this be the case for you?

What do you mean by mini-jack thingy? Front ports?
I have my speakers plugged into my sound card (no loose wires either), where I need them =[

Yeah, I've got like 7.1 ports in the back and a single audio-out (and mic-in) in the front. Whenever I connected my (stereo) speakers to the front port I got a buzz. Connecting it to the back solved that.
But I just realised you are on 5.1 which means you have to be connected to the sound card directly.

Try moving the sound card to another slot farther from the GPU if possible. What exact hardware do you have?
It's strange that you would have issues now and not before though. Anyhow, you should confirm/dismiss the possibility of it being related to the GPU by checking if the problem occurs in another game or while running something else GPU-intensive like 3dmark or furmark.

Yes, it seems that the fix to this is just plugging the mic into the Mobo output slot. I have no idea why my front panel microphone causes buzzing in SC2.... wish blizzard would fix.
