USB mouse problem?

My brother recently got the Razer Deathadder. I wanted to try it out on my computer. When I plug it in, windows says it detects it. It doesn't work. I even installed the driver for it, and it doesn't work. It works on my brothers mac though.

I don't think it is the mouses problem, as I think the story below is linked to it.

A month ago, I wanted to try a different mouse(mouse a). I plugged it in and it didn't work. So I unplugged the current mouse I have(mouse b,it is wireless but needs that receiver thing). Mouse A still didn't work. I replugged the receiver and tried to use Mouse B that works with it, and it didn't work. I tried multiple other USB mouses and they didn't work.

Could it be my motherboard?

EDIT: when i plug it in to a different usb port, it works for a few second then stops after it says hardware is ready to use. Isn't that kinda weird?

One thing to keep in mind when it comes to USB is that if one doesn't work, the one immediately next to it probably won't work either. If you have any USB ports on the front of the PC, try that.

I tried the front ones, nothing changed :l
I tried every single usb port on my computer..
