That RAM's super overpriced for even 1600.
That GTX 570 is super overpriced, also 560 448 is limited edition so if anything that is better for "posture".

I already said this earlier but you insisted on the GTX 570. I think this is what you are saying, I might end up just getting the 448 based on price (100$ difference on ncix)

All the cards I've listed is GTX 560 TI 448 and it is the way to go unless you want an EVGA -AR model for lifetime warranty, I'm assuming that you want lifetime warranty since that's why you selected a GTX 570 Ti -AR model. -KR models carry your standard three year warranty with the option to extend it to five or ten years. Both the MSI and EVGA models are pre-overclocked, EVGA being more aggressive. The Twin Frozr III is a better heatsink though. ASUS DirectCu II is another option: http://ncix.com/products/?sku=65875&promoid=1301

First off, my budget will be up to $800. This does not include my OS, GPU, or RAM. (If I don't use what I have, I'll buy these outside of the $800) I do watch streams/browse the internet fairly often, but the main purpose of this setup will be gaming. I don't plan on overclocking (never have before) but I'd like feedback on this seeing as it is something I may be interested in sometime soon. I'll upgrade again whenever I find myself buying games on console vs pc due to performance worries =P So far, that seems to be every 2-3 years. As far as adding a second GPU to the mix, I'm not sure yet.. I would have to do a bit more research on the specifics (for example, can you use different cards? aka gtx 460+gtx 550 ti). I'll hopefully be building this thing by the end of the month, most likely product will be bought from newegg, however I do have a micro center not too far away just in case. Alright, I've tried my best to answer all the questions you all may need to help me, so on to my first step! Mobo+CPU? I read in the OP that Intel is always recommended on fresh builds, any further comments on this? My last few builds have had AMD, and thus far I haven't had any problems. At first search, I found this combo on newegg. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.798714 If someone would like to start there, give me their opinion, suggest alternatives, and perhaps recommend some additional products for the build I'd be a happy dude =D Keep in mind I haven't made my mind up on anything yet, so I'm looking for everything from mobo to the case. Thanks!

For a 800$ budget that doesnt include graphics card 2500k, Asrock p67/Z68 pro3, GTX 560 Ti 448, HAF 912, Capstone 450 is basically what you want. If your graphics card is decent you can reuse it. Also yeah AMD isn't recommended, it's not about problems it's just that they're terrible in pure performance, price-performance and power consumption.

Thanks! The Bulldozer architecture does not scale down well because it uses modules instead of actual cores. So this makes the Phenom II X4 actually better because it uses four cores (instead of FX4100's two modules) though Phenom II X4 is still significantly behind Intel's offerings. AMD has been behind Intel for several years and was only a good option for budget builders. But now since Intel released its new architecture, Intel offerings are better at the majority (all) price points. SLI / CrossfireX is not recommended unless you play at high resolutions or just want to max the majority of games out there for whatever reason. You cannot SLI / CrossfireX two different GPU, they must be the same GPU. GTX 460 will not SLI with GTX 550 Ti. You must use two GTX 460 or two GTX 550 Ti. This full configuration is $650: Intel Core i5 2400 @ $190 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115074 GSkill RipjawsX 2x4GB 1333Mhz @ $32 (w/ promo code EMCJKKE35, ends 1/11) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231426 Asrock H61M-VS @ $60 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157241 Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti @ $210 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125401 Coolermaster HAF 912 @ $60 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119233 Rosewill Capstone 450w @ $60 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182066 DVD Burner @ $18 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136236 Hitachi 500GB @ $80 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145299 Not much to spend it on if you have no intention of overclocking and don't need operating system, graphics card, or memory. You could get a H67 motherboard (or a H61 with SATA 6Gbps such as the Asrock H61 CAFE) instead and get an SSD if you want: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148442

Overclocking improves performance. When you already have a 2500k, I'm not sure what you mean by worth it or not since it just involves increasing a number so there's no effort involved.
