Still think this deal is awesome >_>

That thing performs better than NH-D14.

Some yeah, but if it fits in the case you got a better cooler than NH-D14 for 35$ =)

Yeah maybe it'd be a good idea to turn the case sideways so the motherboard side is down. x_x

edit: it's not just 1.5 kg, but the majority of it is probably hanging all that distance away from the motherboard. Center of mass has got to be pretty far up there.

Four fans... well it's probably quiet compared to your local airplane hanger.

Pretty big o_o

But apparently it actually is very silent if you run the fans below ~1200 RPM, and they do a fine job cooling at those RPMs(way better than any other 35$ cooler)

Turns out if you don't have mesh on your side panel, it performs awfully in most cases because its too tall for its own good.

So it pushes the hot air back down onto the mobo? It seems to perform well but just makes me go O_o when thinking about airflow direction.

anyone could recommend me a good mobo to go with i5-2500K? i'm building my friend a computer and he has a budget of around 1000$ CAD, he told me he preferred geforce and the mobo needs to be SLI compatible.

You kind of need to have a side intake fan and position it properly, it'll probably end up keeping your mobo and ram etc. cooler too

MSI P67 G43 or G45 or GD55 or whatever else goes on sale tomorrow.

Asrock Extreme3 and Extreme4 are bad options.

They're bad why?

And hopefully the cards include SLi bridges then.

Because they're expensive? If you want ~$150+ boards, you might as well shell out the extra for MSI Z68 GD55 or ASUS P8Z68-V.

So making final decision on build and can't decide between 560 Ti 1GB and 6950 2GB. Every single thread I've read(countless) is almost 50/50 split on them.

The 560 seems to bench higher in a few games I play more often(SC2, Civ 5) and everyone says the 2GB will do better at larger resolutions + multi monitor setups.

I currently play on 1600x900 and don't see myself ever going past 1080p when I get a new monitor. I also will never be multi-monitor gaming, the 2nd will be used purely for browsers and assorted stuff to have up to look @ between/during games if needed, and to expand my workspace for programming/working/etc.

I plan on picking up Battlefield 3 before too long and would like to play on at least High settings with good framerates. Help me decide T_T

Also was looking at the MSI Twin Frozr versions of both of these. Most reading I saw said they run cooler than the Asus DCII versions, and come with higher factory overclocks. I'm not that concerned about the fact that the 6950 might be unlockable to 6970 shaders either. I don't want that alone to be the reason I would get it.

Isn't your decision extremely easy....? You aren't going to be going higher than 1080p, games bench higher on the GTX 560 Ti, and the 6950 2GB is more expensive than the GTX 560 Ti, and the GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr III variant is clocked much higher over stock than the 6950 2GB variant. Not sure why you struggling with this since you've given yourself plenty of reason to select the GTX 560 Ti.

Twin Frozr II and III are better than the DirectCu II for the GTX 560 Ti.

Basically just waiting for someone like you to tell me to shut up and buy it lol. I'm indecisive.

As for my build, I've noticed that the i5 2500k is at the same price as the i5 2400 (LOVE MICROCENTER) 150$

Should I get the 2500k?

If they're the same price, then yes, of course. The 2500k is faster and has the possibility to be overclocked.

Oh whoops, it was canada >_>

Yeah I guess G43 and buddies would be decent in that case.

However, there was this one Gigabyte SLi/Crossfire board that was really cheap... Was it Gigabyte GA-P67A-D3-B3?

How good is that in comparison to the cheap MSI multi-GPU boards?

Why would you be getting 2gb 6950? You should be considering 1gb 6950 vs 1gb 560 Ti.
