What he said.
and sorry again.

I gave you incorrect info!!!!! I'm sorry!!!! If you check the link that RO4R gave, the 5770 produces an extra 6fps compared to the 4870.
Just want to check with you, are prices in Shanghai cheaper or more expensive than US e-tailers? I think they are about the same but in Shanghai if you check the price from friends or online sources you could be ripped of by people at the PC mall.

looking to buy a cheap computer just for sc2 and eventually d3
What is your budget? willing to spend 500-600~ the cheaper the better, im a student so i dont have a lot of money to throw around
What is your resolution? havent bought a monitor yet but i think itll be 1280/1024 if someone could clarify how much this matters would be appreciated
What are you using it for? purely for gaming, i need to play sc2 on high or ultra settings need 1v1 with max armies to not lag on bnet
What is your upgrade cycle? umm i know next to nothing about computers so im actually hoping for somebody to recommend me a nice one on at microcenter or new egg
Do you plan on overclocking? i have no idea what this means
Do you need an Operating System? i think most prebuilt computers come with an operating system?
Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire? no idea
Where are you buying your parts from? idk how difficult it is to learn to build a computer but really im just looking for a hassle free time to get a new desktop but there is a microcenter near where i live
thanks for the help~
edit: if its cheaper, i wouldnt mind just buying a new video card for a prebuilt machine because that seems to be much of the problem with running games at high levels
for instance i cant find any of the graphics cards recommended here on machines at newegg or microcenter (is NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE Video Chipset any good?)

Why not get a pre-built system from Dell or HP?
I saw some good deals on the Inspiron 580.
It seems ideal, and you could upgrade the video card to a GT240 and get almost no problems at 1280x1024.

Sorry for the reposting, but I have changed and revised my previous build. Here's the new one:

Just ignore the little things like keyboard/mice/moniter/etc.
I know this will most likely run anything I'd like it to on Ultra settings, especially if I OC (which may be something for the future). Upping my ram to 8G from 4G, using a smaller PSU, and a finding a different motherboard have let me lower the price almost $200 from my previous post. All in all I feel like $1100 for this setup (that's including keyboard/mice/HD Widescreen 21.5 Inch monitor) is a really good price. I don't really see any other places the lower the price, besides a smaller processor? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, is 550W enough to power all this? I would say yes, but I am not entirely sure.

Except you really haven't changed anything..

Your mobo has (1) PCI Express 2.0 x16 Graphics Slot
Your card is GIGABYTE GV-N460D5-768I-B GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 768MB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
So you should be good
Also if you're getting the mobo/processor from microcenter, consider getting this mobo in addition to the 965, it's only 9.99. I got the 965 BE and this mobo for a total of $200.

I recommend getting a 1gb gtx 460 over the 768mb, especially at your resolution. 1680x1050 right? The mobo looks good for $50.
The PSU will be able to handle it all.
8GBs of RAM? 4GB is more than enough for casual use. If you aren't doing something like video encoding it's not worth the premium.
GTS 250 for $130? (Keep in mind those rebates are fulfilled by them giving you that amount in gift cards [Visa I think]). I'd opt for a 5770 or even 460 instead with the money you save by going 4gb of RAM.
Have you tried comboing items? You can save quite a bit of money.

Absolutely agree on the 1GB over the 768, the extra ~$30 it costs is well worth it.

768MB for 1680x1050 is totally fine. No reason to go for the 1GB.
Dohrann looks good so far.

How does the 768mb fare against late game 200/200 pop or 4v4s? I honestly haven't been paying attention to SC2. Though you could say SC2 will fix a couple bugs later on and make the game use the GPU more efficiently.

Not really. Preconfigured systems come with loads of bloatware and are overpriced. Buying the parts and assembling a computer by yourself is cheaper.
