You already have three case fans. If you're really worried about temperatures you might move one of the intakes and mount it to the side panel if your case allows that. Supposedly having a fan blowing directly on the GPU with an intake from the side panel can really help temperatures there. Exactly this. My CF 6870s got really hot but I slapped a couple of fans on the side panel and they got to more regular temperatures.

If you don't have a good front fan (I didn't/don't as a matter of fact), the air under the card which is being pulled into the fans becomes stagnant without airflow and heats up. The side fan washes cool air over the PCB and lets the fans suck in air that's a lot cooler.

Feel free to shop around the various UK sites (overclockers, aria, amazon, etc.) for better deals on individual components. Core components: 279 pounds i5-4670 cheap MSI B85 mobo 2x4gb RAM + Show Spoiler + http://www.scan.co.uk/products/intel-core-i5-4670-s-1150-haswell-quad-core-34ghz-38ghz-turbo-1200mhz-gpu-34x-ratio-retail-plus-free http://www.scan.co.uk/products/msi-b85m-p33-intel-b85-s-1150-ddr3-sata-iii-sata-raid-pcie-30-(x16)-atx http://www.scan.co.uk/products/8gb-(2x4gb)-corsair-ddr3-xms3-pc3-12800-(1600)-non-ecc-unbuffered-cas-9-9-9-24-15v Video card: 86 or 153 pounds. Basically, if you're going to be keeping with your current monitor for awhile, there's no reason to spend on anything more beefy than a 7770 (86 pounds). If you plan on upgrading your monitor to a 1920x1080 version soon, then you may want to get a GTX 660 for 153 pounds. http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-sapphire-radeon-hd-7770-ghz-edition-4500mhz-gddr5-28nm-gpu-1000mhz-640-cores-dport-dl-dvi-hdmi-p http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-gigabyte-gtx-660-windforce-2x2-28nm-pcie-30-(x16)-6008mhz-gddr5-gpu-1033mhz-boost-1098mhz-cores- Supporting components: 130 pounds Fractal Design Core 1000 (note this case will ONLY fit mATX mobos - like the one above - do not buy if you get a full-sized ATX mobo) Be Quiet! Pure Power L7 430w Seagate 1TB HDD DVD-burner + Show Spoiler + http://www.scan.co.uk/products/fractal-design-core-1000-black-micro-atx-mini-tower-performance-case-with-120mm-quiet-fan-w-o-psu http://www.scan.co.uk/products/430w-be-quiet!-pure-power-l7-bn105-80-plus-120mm-quiet-fan-atx-psu http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1tb-seagate-st1000dm003-barracuda-720014-sata-6gb-s-7200rpm-64mb-cache-8ms-ncq-oem http://www.scan.co.uk/products/samsung-sh-224bb-bebe-dvdr-24x-rw-8x-6x-dvd-ram-12x-black-oem Total: 495 pounds (with the Radeon 7770 for GPU) In addition to getting a better GPU (see above), there are two other major options for spending more money. 1) Get a better monitor! For instance this good quality 24" 1920x1080 monitor @153 pounds, the BenQ gw2450hm: http://www.amazon.co.uk/BenQ-GW2450HM-inch-Full-Monitor/dp/B0081VNAUM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370798076&sr=8-1&keywords=benq gw2450 2) Get an SSD! A good performer like this 120gb Plextor M5S goes for 75 pounds. http://www.scan.co.uk/products/128gb-plextor-px-128m5s-25-ssd-sata-iii-6gb-s-read-520mb-s-write-200mb-s-71000-iops-max Unfortunately while you have some room to work, you don't have the money for everything you want (new monitor + the 660 gpu + the SSD would be 790 pounds). But you could, say, get the 7770 + the new monitor for 650 pounds. The 7770 will play games on 1920x1080 fine, just not at max graphics settings. Or you could just save some quid & get the base recommendations. Whatever. Wow, thank you! I've managed to find a relatively nice 1920x1080 monitor that my friend didn't want. Within a month or so, that should leave me with enough money for all the higher end products you suggested! Thank you so much!

As for keyboard, *shrug*, I just use whatever cheap $5 keyboard is laying around. Thank for the hint, but unfortunately this mouse is impossible to buy in Germany. I have visited all possible shops. Everywhere you can read something like "out of stock". Looks very nice though, I must admit. ![]() ![]() As for keyboard - it dont necessary has to be Blackwidow. Any mechanical keyboard will do.

And honestly, >90% (legitimately) of complaints i see about mechanical boards not working or having a problem are blackwidows, not sure if just due to popularity (because people blindly buy razer stuff) but they don't seem to be good boards. There's a sweet market of mechanical keyboards out there though

Or the place to inform myself and make my mind on my own? Would be great.

Be careful with mouse sensors. The majority of mice sold are really awful if you compare them competitively and many have many minor if not major flaws that makes them a pain to use; even if you like the mouse shell. Companies don't really put much regard into anything but looks and how much DPI they can advertise (which is useless to anyone looking to be good at using a mouse) and it's just a bad market

And yes once again - you are right about DPI. The companies think the more DPI the longer penis the owner will think to have. Lmao. For SC2 its even poison, if you have 1800 DPI. All I need is a solid build, that will serve me good longer than 2 years (most difficult part), Nice LED sensor and ergonomy. I will read more about this and that mouse and then just go for it. And if I dont like it - I'll just send it back within 2 weeks. ![]()

As for a board, I'm using a CM Storm Quickfire Rapid with brown keys, and I'm very happy with it as well. Blues also seem pretty nice. But as you've said, make sure you do your own research into what you might like the most!

Yes, I have already read about browns. I dont like red and blacks so I think I will go with browns. CM storm is good as well. Ive read much positive about it. Some negative points as well, but nothing extraordinary bad. So i might give a chance to G400/G9x and CM storm a chance.

I am an OC virgin, will I benefit from the features incorporated in the BIOS? Will I benefit from the increased stability from the components? This is in comparison to an ASUS z87-A board. I plan to use a ZALMAN CNPS9500A-LED 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler that I have from my previous PC. How important is it to upgrade to a H220 for a stable OC on a ROG board? Also, my build only has 4gb (2x2) of 1600 ram, would I need to upgrade to 8gb if I am only using this pc for schoolwork, internet browsing, and sc2? Thanks for the insight!
