Blizzard is not located in Europe where in many countries it is illegal to have people work weekends/holidays. The US is the land of opportunity but to quote a communist saying, it is not "a worker's paradise". Which for the majority of the few communist countries left, that is definitely an oxymoron. Blizzard is really ruining the hype level with this latest patch and it's RIGHT BEFORE they go offline for "several weeks". This is not a taste you want to leave in people's mouths for weeks at at time and let it fester and grow. Blizzard up until now, as far as I know, has had a fairly well run beta. Sure there have been loads of balance changes and additions to bnet and etc. Things that we all know people LOOOOVE to bitch about, but when it came to being able to actually play the game, as far as I know there has never been a problem of this magnitude. Blizzard NEEDS to be working today if they want to show to the industry and especially the consumer that they are really serious about this game and are not just in it for the money but that they actually CARE about the Starcraft franchise. If it was my company and I had this huge game on the line and there was an issue this big, where 2/3 of every game is a drop/freeze for the majority of people, everyone involved in that part of the game would be working today. And yeah, it's a beta these things happen, but c'mon let's be frank here, everyone expects this beta to run perfectly, with the amount of money and manpower they are surely throwing at this game I would expect it too, especially at this late stage. This is not some independent developer we are talking about here that has limited funds and people, we are talking about Activision Blizzard, arguably one of the biggest entities in the industry, along with EA. If I worked for Blizzard, as an employee, I would offer to work today to straighten this out. It's called being responsible to the consumer/user. I hope they are working today, cause shit needs to get done asap. I can't imagine the staff of any online business of any sort to leave their service at such a crappy state for the weekend, let alone such a huge company and project. Of course they are on it.

Wait for blizzard to fix the problem in a couple of days and stop playing/whining it's a beta. Of course it's SUNDAY, the problem won't be instant fixed. Stop playing/whining? Why? The whole point of beta is to give feedback. They decided to have a huge patch 13 just a little more than a week before the end of the 1st phase beta and expect to get decent data back from the community with all these disconnects? This is just bad planning from Blizzard. There's bound to be huge hiccups in the beta with a huge change in the interface and they only allow for a little time for feedback so they can release a non-faulty retail version. Now we have even less time to test the beta because of all these disconnects? You know what this usually entails? DELAYS. Everyone has the right to complain. And just because it's Sunday doesn't mean anything. Do you think Blizzard would just take the weekend off if suddenly all the WoW servers crashed? Imagine all the uproar from the community and Blizzard panicking to fix everything. It's so important that they fix everything ASAP so we don't have to deal with more problems later when the actual game comes out.

Idk, most of them would have had to opt in meaning they owned a blizzard product, not sure how many just got a beta key but id say a majority own blizz games(mostly WoW) and i know WoW players(myself being an old one) know how major patches go

This beta is pristine compared to your average beta phase. Games don't just get pumped out in perfect technical shape. They gotta be tested first. :D

And for everyone saying its just beta, yes we are well aware. Kindof hard to test anything with the way this is going. Patch 13 could've introduced purple unicorns as a new zerg unit but good luck balancing them. They should do more pretests on these patches so that the beta can actually be successful in helping them balance the game.

It was, in fact, one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had, both because of the fun game and the way everything was set up. Battle.net 2.0 is garbage compared to everything HoN has done. Reconnecting to a game after being dropped? Pinch me; I must be dreaming.
