I'm quite a novice in overclocking I'm afraid (although I do know enough about hardware to know what to go for) and my overclocking is likely to be limited to going into the BIOS with F12 on startup, setting the CPU to 4ghz and see if it works. If it does, I'll repeat for the RAM speed to 1600mhz and that'll be that. If you have any advice (other than getting CPU-Z to check on stuff) on what to do, feel free.

Unless you're using multi-threaded applications frequently, HT isn't worth the lost thermal headroom. skyR can probably give better advice on OCing Sandy Bridge though, I'm on Bloomfield, and that's entirely different.
