The original game was praised for it's voice acting and the storyline in the single player. Did you guys bring back any of the original voice cast or did you recast completely? I remember there was a story that you weren't ...
"Actually we did. We brought back, so far, currently we have the original Jim Raynor, who is the main character, and then we have a few other returns, specifically this character Mengsk who is kind of the opponent or the enemy of Raynor, is back as well. Those are the two that jump out as being the biggest right now. Then there are a few we decided to change, or couldn't find the same actor, or just decided that we wanted it different -- there's more of it so we wanted to change who the actor was or whatever. So, we tried where it made sense, i guess would be the best answer to that."
In the midst of the whole LAN controversy, this is very good news. This is Jimmy!!!
Thank god. It wouldn't be Starcraft without the legendary Jim Raynor voice.
"It may not be tomorow, darlin', it may not even happen with an army at my back. But rest assured; I'm the man who's gonna kill you one day. I'll be seeing you. "

Now we just need the old Kerrigan (Glynnis Talken Campbell).. Voice changes are seriously annoying
I recall an interview with her about this taht said she was willing if i recall correctly, and they just didnt ask her? Does anyone have a link to that interview I dont remember exactly what was said.

After Jimmy, Kerrigan is certainly the most important voice for them to have. It would be so terrible if they didn't use the original voice actor for her. I could deal with maybe some of the protoss characters being changed (it would still suck), but Kerrigan having a different voice would suck too much...
I'm hoping we get the same voice actors for Zeratul and Artanis, man I hate Protoss in multi-player but they are certainly the most badass in single player.
Glynnis won't be reprising the role of Kerrigan. she said she had interest in the role so it appears blizzard decided they wanted to change the voice actor...

Wow I forgot about that quote...epic shit. I got chills just reading it.
No one in TL who went at Blizz's HQ asked about why Kerrigan's VA was so mysteriously let out ? Blizzard gave no reason why they didn't choose her =/. I mean, I don't mind for lesser characters, but Kerrigan?? Not mentioning her voice was GREAT, a real ''queen bitch of the universe''. I hope the zerg reveal trailer is no indication of the new voice actor :S.
I'm glad to see this. One of the things that pissed me off the most about Warcraft 3 was how most of the characters from Warcraft 2 changed so much. Voices, appearances, and behaviorally. Starcraft 2 has the last two mostly the same as the first game its just the first one that I was iffy about.
I really hope they get the original Kerrigan for the Zerg campaign. If they don't have her in the Terran one, I'm not horrified, but I really really hope they bring her back when she's the main character.
And, as far as voices go, I'll really miss having Aldaris. Though he was sometimes an annoying character, I just loved his voice. Was the best part of the briefings. Just like the overmind in original SC.
Hope they use the "old" german voices for the german version of sc2, too. Imo they sounded really great! At least as good as the english counterparts. And Jim didn't sound like a sissy
The original voice actor for Zeratul is definitely dead. Blizzard themselves confirmed this, so you won't be seeing his original voice actor unfortunately. It's beyond anyone's control, unless Blizzard fund research for necromancy.
IMDB was wrong regarding the voice actors, I believe. Never use it as a source of information for video game voice acting, in my opinion. It's often horribly inaccurate.
